Ttangkkeut Maehwa Festival

The Ttangkkeut Maehwa Festival is an annual celebration of maehwa (plum blossom) in the ttangkkeut (edge/end of the land) village of Haenam, Joellanam-do. Held under the theme of "Spring in the Ttangkkeut Maehwa Fields," this year's festival will present a wide variety of exciting programs including performances, exhibitions, singing contests, and many more over the period of two days.

Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival

Yeongyang-gun is where Ilwolsan Montain and the Nakdonggang River meet. The town also takes pride in being home to several writers and martyred patriots. With its clean natural environment, Yeongyang-gun produces a large amount of wild greens that can grow only in uncontaminated areas. Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival celebrates sannamul (wild greens), a gift of nature. Sannamul are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber, and used in a various Korean dishes. They also used to be presented to kings in ancient days. At the festival, various events will be held such as foraging for and gathering wild greens.

Gyeongju Free Market Bonghwang Jangte (경주 프리마켓 봉황장터)

The Gyeongju Free Market Bonghwang Jangte offers many shops and entertaining events for night-time visitors to the Bonghwangdae area. Tourists can purchase special souvenirs or even make their own at some of the hands-on tents. There are also food trucks for snacks and busking performances to liven up the evening. The market takes place on weekends from March through December, although the hours are subject to change each month. We advise you to check the schedule on the official website before visiting.

Uljin Snow Crab Festival

This festival celebrates Uljin's famous local specialty, snow crabs. Visitors can taste fresh seafood caught from Uljin's Hupo Port and participate in a variety of crab-related events, including a snow crab eating competition or fishing for snow crabs.

Marronnier Summer Festival
 
Seoul(Jongno-gu) ,
Since its opening, Arts Council Korea - Performing Art Center has introduced many regular programs including excellent repertory series, new generation performance artists series, themed performance arts series and other planned programs. The Marronnier Summer Festival will be a participatory festival including outdoor performances with an expected audience of 20,000 people for six consecutive days.

Sinan Sasanqua Festival

The Sinan Sasanqua Festival takes place at 1004 Island Park (Cheonsaseom Bunjae Park) in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do. The festival is the nation's one and only festival about potted plants. Camellias (dongbaek in Korean) bloom during the cold winter months. The flowers fall off completely intact, keeping their brilliant color and appearance. This festival is expected to have around 30,000 sasanqua flowers blooming from around 3,000 trees at 1004 Island Park and Songgongsan Mountain. There will also be 2,000 kinds of potted camellias on display, a program demonstrating how to care for potted plants, and a poetry and painting exhibit.

Let's Go See Pilbong Good

Let's Go See Pilbong Good combining Pilbong Nongak (farmer's music) inscribed in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and a variety of traditional cultural experiences contributes to the development of the regional community culture beyond generations and ages. The community-oriented tradition seeks communication, friendship, harmony and sharing between urban and rural societies, dreaming of the globalization of Korean traditional culture. Especially, Pilbong Nongak highlighting farmer's generous and affectionate life helps the audience think about the value of the traditional music and upgrades Pilbong to the place that people want to revisit and creates a rebirth of the Korean culture.

Namwon Newly-appointed Governor’s Procession

Namwon Newly-appointed Governor’s Procession is a fusion performance about the parade for celebrating the appointment of Byeon Hak-do as Namwon governor in the story of Chunhyang, set in Gwanghallu Garden, one of Namwon’s representative cultural resource. The event connected to Gwanghallu Garden and the Chunhayng Theme Park takes place from April to November every year, giving various spectacles and activities to visitors. The parade starts from the Plaza of Love and ends at Gwanghallu Garden, where various shows such as Gisaeng Jeomgo, military processional music performance, Yukbang performance, and a fan dance by gisaeng (female entertainers) are performed. In addition, fun activities like experiencing the punishment of the Joseon Dynasty, folk games, and a photo event are arranged for visitors. This performance has been designated as a Standing Cultural Tourism Program for nine consecutive years since 2007.

Saturday Traditional Folk Play

“Saturday Traditional Folk Play” is a regular performance of important intangible cultural assets designated by the Korean government and Busan local government. The purpose of the performance is to introduce traditional folk plays designated as Busan’s intangible cultural assets to domestic and foreign tourists and promote the artistic superiority of Korean culture. The audience can understand tradition and culture specific to Busan by experiencing various folk plays handed down from generation to generation. In addition, the performance expands the opportunity for not only Busan citizens but also visitors to enjoy traditional cultures, paving the path for culture education to reduce cultural gap between generations. By integrating performances with tourist attractions, Busan will make a step forward as a famous region loved by domestic and international tourists.
