Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

The mask play of Hahoe Byeolsingut Exorcism itself, performed first by merchants in Andong Hahoe Village around mid 12th century is designated as Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 69. Hahoe Village, a clan village of the Pungsan Ryu family, preserves the traditional Korean way of life. The entire village has been designated as Important Folklore Material No.122. The mask dance performance has been performed to wish for much happiness and a good harvest for the village. Event Programs: Byeolsingut Exorcism means an unusual and uncommon form of exorcism. In an agricultural society, a good harvest was considered to be the key factor of the village’s survival and the villages performed a sacrificial rite to pray to the heavens for an ever-lasting and bountiful harvest. As an act of incantation, the mask dance is made up of 10 episodes with a satirical story of former nobleman. The 10 episodes include: the ‘Gang Shin Episode’ (an invocatory rite of a would-be medium), the ‘Mudong Episode’ (the doll bride enters the stage), the ‘Juji Episode’ (Juji is an imaginary animal), the ‘Butcher Episode’ (a character butchers a cow without any hesitation), the ‘Granny Episode’ (the sorrow and joy of the lives of the public can be felt), the ‘Depraved Monk Episode’ (it satirizes the depraved monks and Buddhism at the end of the Goryeo dynasty), the ‘Nobleman Episode’ (it satirizes the hypocrisy and affectation of former noblemen), the ‘Dang Je’ (a ritual service for putting God back in his first place), the ‘Wedding Episode’ (the doll bride and the scholar marry) and the ‘Bridal Room Episode’ (describing their honeymoon).


Seoul(Songpa-gu) , Jamsil(Lotte World)

Lotte World Tower will be holding Lotte World Tower Firework Festival on April 2, 2017 from 19:30 to 12:30. The celebration begins with opening ceremony performed by DJ DOC, Hong, Jin-young, a cappella group D.I.A, Songpa Philharmonic Orchestra and Songpa Boys and Girls Choir at a special performance stage. Spectacular fireworks display of 30,000 fireworks will embroider the night sky for 11 minutes starting from 21:00. Lotte World Tower will mesmerize visitors with fireworks that light up the night sky in accordance to eight different background music of diverse genre such as jazz and pop, along with the fascinating musical fireworks display at Seokchonhosu Lake. Gangwon-do(Taebaek-si)

Guwau Village (Taebaek, Gangwon-do) is host to the Taebaek Sunflower Festival, a celebration of the area’s wide array of colorful wildflowers and endless fields of sunflowers (the largest sunflower patch in Korea). The festival takes place in about a 661,157㎡ filled with 300 species of wild flowers along with a sunflower field walking path and other hands-on program with wild flowers. 


Jeollabuk-do(Jeonju-si)

Jeonju Bibimbap Festival is an exciting food festival with the theme of Jeonju Bibimbap, one of the most recognizable local foods in Korea. This year’s festival, in particular, is hosted together with a variety of food events including Korea Food & Tourism Festival, International Fermented Food Expo, Jeonju Yakryeong Hanbang Expo, and Traditional Liquor Festival.The festival consists of fun programs: Mat (Delicious) Bibim, Heung (Fun) Bibim offering cultural performances as well as a food contest, Meot (Elegant) Bibim letting visitors experience food and other programs including a tour program to attractions in Hanok Village. Held in Jeonju, the festival offers the best of Bibimbap to both Korean and international tourists.


Gyeonggi-do(Suwon-si) , suwon

Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is a landmark festivity held every October at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site built to commemorate King Jeongjo’s filial piety and dream for national prosperity and military power.


Chungcheongnam-do(Taean-gun)

At the 2015 World Tulip Summit held at the Suncheon Bay Garden exhibition, Taean Tulips Festival was selected to be one of the world's top five tulip festivals, including America (Michigan, Holland), Canada (Ottawa), Japan (Honshu) and India (Kashmir). The advanced planting technique used is one of the biggest determinant factors that leads to the recognition. Jagalchi Market is the largest seafood market in Korea and one of Busan’s most well-known tourist attractions. The festival takes place every autumn and its slogan is “Oiso! Boiso! Saiso! (“Come!
