Ganghwa Dolmen Culture Festival

Ganghwa Dolmen Culture Festival is the most famous of Ganghwa Island’s festivals. It celebrates the island’s dolmens, which have been designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Every year, many tourists visit this cultural festival to explore the beautiful rural island and learn about its history.The festival has two major programs, “Dolmen Festival” and “Dolmen Academy”. "Dolmen Festival" includes several performances, such as the reenactment of a traditional Korean funeral ceremony and a demonstration of how the dolmens were constructed. To learn about the history and culture of Ganghwa’s dolmens, visitors should check out the events in the “Dolmen Academy” program, which include a photo exhibition and a photo zone.Visitors can also try out various activities, such as making “yakssuk” (medical herb) rice cakes, learning the traditional tea and wedding ceremonies, and kite flying.

Gochang Moyang Fortress Festival
Jeollabuk-do(Gochang-gun)

The Moyang Fortress was built by the region’s citizens in order to block the 1453 invasion of Japanese forces. It is also called the 'Gochang Eupseong'. The circumference of the fortress is measured at 1,684m and it has a x_height of 4~6m with three main gates and various facilities for soldiers. Parts have been burned down and are currently undergoing restoration. The main event of the Gochang Moyang Fortress Festival is the ‘Dapseongdori’, an event where you carry rock on top of your head and round the fortress three times. This ceremony is attended by all the region’s citizens as it is said to cure all illnesses, grant you a long and healthy life, and allow you into Heaven when you die. Aside from the Dapseongdori event, the festival includes a Joseon Dynasty military ceremony and there are many other sights to see.

Sunchang Fermented Soybean Festival
Jeollabuk-do(Sunchang-gun)

The Sunchang Fermented Sauce Festival is held every fall at Sunchang, a city of health and longevity. Sunchang hot pepper sauce, which used to be presented to the royal family in the Joseon Dynasty, is believed to have many health benefits, such as being beneficial in preventing cancer and obesity. As people have gotten more interested in their health and well-being, hot sauce has become an even greater part of the Korean diet.The venue of the festival is Hot Sauce Folk Village, a mecca of Sunchang Hot Sauce. There are a range of programs, including celebrity performances, percussion performances, madangnori, and making traditional hot sauce. Other events include Sunchang Specialty Exhibition (e.g. vegetables fermented in hot sauce, bokbunja liquor), Children’s Painting Contest, and photo exhibits. The festival’s crowning glory is the Sunchang traditional hot sauce competition, a must-see event.

D. Festa: Daehangno Street Performance Festival

This year’s D. Festa, also known as the Daehangno Street Performance Festival, will be broadcasting through online live streaming. The performances will take place based on the festival’s slogan “Suddenly, Like an Imagination,” consisting of joint productions and 15 guest performances. The main programs include theatre troupe Sadari's performance "My Friend Yangmalmok," Korean mime toupe Pan, performing “The Wandering Knight,” and 42Project, performing “Let’s Not Do This.”

Uljin Geumgang Songi Mushroom Festival

Uljin Geumgang Songi Mushroom Festival is a local landmark celebration that offers lots of local gourmet food and things to see and enjoy. The festival will take place at Wangpicheon Expo Park area. During the festival period, over 20 events are held including the opening ceremony, congratulatory performance, Uljin Geumgang Songi Mushroom food contest, Songi mushroom farmers’ market, Best Songi Mushroom Show, Songi Auction, and Free Songi Mushroom Sampling Event. Family-oriented hands-on experience programs include collecting Songi mushrooms, FAM tour to Geumgangsong pine trees, and harvesting yams. You may also sample traditional liquor, tea and food for free as part of the festival activities.

Bastille Day

FKCCI Bastille Day event is one of the chamber’s biggest annual events. Bastille Day is the name given in English-speaking countries to the French National Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of July every year. In France, it is formally called La Fête Nationale (The National Celebration) and commonly le Quatorze Juillet. This cultural event represents the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison, which is seen as a symbol of the end of the constitutional monarchy that preceded the First Republic during the French Revolution. Festivities in France begin with a big parade held on the morning of July 14th on the Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris, which is attended by the president of france and broadcast on television. Other programs include a VIP garden party at the Elysée and the final bouquet of fireworks all around the Eiffel Tower. In celebration of this national holiday, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Embassy of France in Korea organize an annual party. The result is a festival of over 500 people celebrating Bastille Day in a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. It is a day for people of all ages to come and enjoy France and French culture in Korea. Yeongwol Donggang Festival

The Dongang ferry was once a popular mode of transportation along the Hangang River. While it was gradually outdated with the growth of highways and mass transportation, the ferry was a useful mode of transportation and the livelihood of people living upstream of the Hangang River. Hyo Culture Ppuri Festival
Daejeon(Jung-gu)

Dajeon Family Culture festival takes place for three days in mid-May every year, in an area around Ppuri Park in Jung-gu, Daejeon, where filial piety has been highly respected. The festival features hands-on experience programs and events reflecting traditional family culture and filial piety. Four traditional ceremonies (coming of age, wedding, funeral, ancestral rites) will be demonstrated. A parade of 136 clans will take place, and an exhibition will display unique clan traditions and stories about each clan. Performances by collage traditional performance teams, a fusion music festival, and street food markets will also be held.
