Cheongdo Seedless Persimmon Festival
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Cheongdo-gun)

Cheongdo Seedless Persimmon Festival is held in October at an outdoor stage in Cheongdo-gun. ‘Bansi’ (seedless persimmon) features an astringent taste with a flat-shape, unlike the long-shape of gotgam (a peeled persimmon that is dried in the sun through natural drafts) spreading through Sangju and Yeongdong. Cheongdo Bansi is tender, high in sugar and easy to eat and process as it has no seeds. Thus, Cheongdo hosts the Cheongdo Bansi (Seedless persimmon) Festival to promote their specialty product.

Muan White Lotus Festival

Muan is the largest habitat of the White Lotus flower in Asia, spanning 330,000m2 in size. While most lotus flowers are pink, the lotus flowers in Muan are snow white, which is very rare. During the Muan White Lotus Festival festival, visitors can enjoy a landscape filled with white lotus flowers and lotus-themed activities. Festival Guide: The festival starts with a celebration parade. Visitors can enjoy exhibits about lotus flowers and the history of lotus medicine, as well as a photo exhibit and hands-on programs. Activities include making handcrafts with the seeds of lotus flowers, natural dyeing using lotus flowers, making lotus soup, cooking lotus-wrapped rice and more. Different kinds of lotus can be observed at the natural learning garden of water plants, which is on the way to the venue. Festival Hightlights: The highlight of the Muan White Lotus Festival is a boat ride where you can get a nice view of the lotus flowers. Exploring the lotus road on the water is like a jungle adventure. Bonghwa Pine Mushroom Festival

Bonghwa’s song-i mushrooms (pine mushroom) are regarded as a special delicacy, they grow only on the very best types of pine trees called ‘Chunyangmok Pine Trees’. They can be stored for long periods of time. At the Bonghwa Pine Mushroom festival, visitors will be able to observe the mushrooms in their natural habitat, and get the chance to harvest them. Garosu-gil Giva Week
