Jeollanam-do(Yeongam-gun)

This festival celebrates the achievements of Korea’s Dr. Wangin, who travelled to Japan over 1,600 years ago to spread knowledge culture and art. His teachings included the Thousand-Character Text (a primer of Chinese Characters) and the Analects (Discourses) of Confucius. Wangin taught writing composition to the Japanese and developed the foundations of education, which greatly influenced all areas of study, including social science, politics, economics, culture, and art. This festival is set in the beautiful landscape of Wolchulsan National Park and Dr Wangin’s achievements are celebrated with various performances and cultural events. The festival takes place in April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Since 1962, the Silla Cultural Festival has been a representative cultural celebration held in Gyeongju’s Bonghwangdae, Hwangseong Park, and the downtown area. It is a cultural festival that brings out the spirit of the ancient Silla kingdom, which has a remarkable history and culture. It also introduces Gyeongju’s vision of being a hub of culture and tourism that combines the old and the new. The festival allows residents and tourists to unite while building an ambience of positive interaction, as well as spreading an image of Gyeongju as a historical and cultural tourism city that embraces its thousand-year-old heritage.


Gyeonggi-do(Icheon-si) , Icheon

Icheon is famous for producing the best rice in Korea. In fact Icheon rice is so good that it used to be served to the kings of Korea in the past, and is still highly thought of today. The Icheon Rice Culture Festival celebrates its famous rice and also the local agricultural practices.Major events of the festival include a reenactment of the parade that transported rice to Hanseong (the old name for Seoul) for presentation to the king, and the huge rice cauldron that is capable of feeding thousands of people.


Seoul(Gangnam-gu)

The festival offers chances to meet Korean Hallyu stars including SHINEE, INFINITE, 2PM, Wonder Girls and other popular K-POP stars. This performance will be broadcasted live on KBS 2TV, as well as to 20 countries through the KBS World channel.


Gyeonggi-do(Gwacheon-si) , Seoul Grand Park

The Seoul Grand Park Rose Walking Festival will be held at the Rose Theme Garden within Seoul Grand Park. The festival will have about 20,000 rose trees from close to 290 species from different places all over the world.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Yeongdong-gun)

Yeongdong in southern Chungcheongbuk-do Province is the largest producer of grapes in Korea. Yeongdong Grape is known for its sweet, fresh flavor and for having a great, sunlight-rich climate and stark temperature contrasts between day and night. Every year, in celebration of its top crop, Yeongdong hosts a festival where visitors pick grapes in a vineyard or fish them out of a pool, followed by using them to make different types of food, such as wine, chocolate, dry persimmon, and more, and simply enjoy the beautiful scenery of Yeongdong Town all the while. It is a perfect opportunity to experience grapes with all five senses and take some home at affordable prices.


Chungcheongnam-do(Boryeong-si)

The Cheonbuk Oyster Festival is an event prepared by the Boryeong Cheonbuk Oyster Festival Committee. This event promotes the diverse dishes and nutritious tastes of Cheonbuk Oysters to tourists and is a good opportunity to visit the Boryeong region . A variety of events have been prepared for the oyster festival, with, of course, the best-grilled Cheonbuk Oyster delicacies of the west coast and other delicious oyster dishes for tourists.

Yeoju has been producing ceramics ever since the early Goryeo period (AD 918-1392), and through the production of high-quality Goryeongto (Kaolin) and Baekto (white clay), it played an integral role in the development of the early ceramic industry. Yeoju laid the foundations for becoming a major ceramic city by hosting the World Ceramics Expo in 2001.
