"Fireman" is a non-verbal performance that portrays the growth and development of silly and carefree trainees into courageous and trustworthy firefighters. Since its first stage in 2015, the act went on an international tour and won the Grand Prize in Popular Culture category during the Korea Hallyu Awards in 2016.

Regular Performances of Nangye Gugak Troupe
Chungcheongbuk-do(Yeongdong-gun)

To commemorate the soul and spirit of Nangye Park Yeon, one of the three legendary gugak (traditional Korean music) musicians with Wang Sanak and Ureuk in Korea's ancient kingdoms, Yeongdong-gun, the hometown of Nangye, has organized regular performances of Nangye Gugak Troupe sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Nangye Gukak Troupe, the first county-level public gugak performance team, was established in 1991 to inherit the spirit of Nangye. The troupe started its performance with the opening show of the National Gugak Orchestral Music Festival in 1994 and has met audiences about 100 times every year. Meanwhile, the Nangye Traditional Music Museum and the Nangye Traditional Music Instrument Experience Center were opened in 2000 and 2006 respectively, helping Yeongdong-gun be titled the Mecca of Traditional Korean Music. The regular performances given every Saturday in Yeongdong Gugak Village enhances the status of traditional Korean music and reminds us of its value and importance.

Nonsan Jeongwol Daeboreum Traditional Event

In celebration of the Jeongwol Daeboreum holiday held during the largest full moon of the year, Nonsan Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival is held to host annual rituals and provide a place for families to spend time together. The festival’s activities also include juldarigi (tug of war) in Nonsan-si, jegichagi (Korean hacky sack), a kite-flying contest for families to paint the sky, writing a family motto, neolttwigi (Korean seesawing jumping), rolling a hoop, paengichigi (top spinning), and other folk game activities.

Jeongwol Daeboreum Event of Korean Folk Village

It is the brightest moon of the year, and a day for telling fortunes and a national holiday in Korea. The Korean Folk Village plans a special Jeongwol Daeboreum event each year to celebrate. The event features traditional Daeboreum activities including burning daljip (brushwood), Jangseungje ceremony, Byeotgaritdae seugi (making a stack of rice straw), Jisinbapgi and Gilnori, sharing Boreum food and special performances like Bukcheong Saja Noreum (play about lions), juldarigi (tug-of-war) and more. Jikji Korea

The Jikji text (full name 'Buljo Jikji Simche Yojeol") is the world's oldest metal-printed book, being printed in 1377 at Cheongju's Heungdeoksa Temple, and as such, was included on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2001. In order to spread the knowledge of Jikji around the world, the city of Cheongju has dedicated great efforts over the past years to host festivals and a memorial event for the awarding ceremony. With the support of the government, the two events were combined in 2016 as a single international event, named JIKJI Korea. With the theme "Jikji, Enlightening the World," various events and exhibitions will allow visitors to learn more about the value of this great acheivement within the exciting festival atmosphere.
