World Cup Park was built to commemorate the 17th FIFA World Cup, held in Korea. Opened May 1st, 2002, the park was once a 15-year-old landfill that held over 92 million tons of garbage. It took 6 years to stabilize the waste (measures were taken to prevent the garbage runoff from contaminating the environment) and an additional year to build the actual park itself. The park is located near Seoul World Cup Stadium, and is made up of five smaller parks including Pyeonghwa 'Peace' Park, Haneul 'Sky' Park, and Noeul 'Sunset' Park. The park takes up a 1.05 million-pyeong area and is usually crowded with in-line skaters. * Pyeonghwa Park: Closest to Seoul World Cup Stadium, it holds a pond, garden, children’s playground, and forest. It is often used as a picnic area and place for nature studies. * Nanjicheon Park: Nanjicheon Park was developed from the Nanji Stream, which flowed under Haneul Park. It was once overflowing with sewage runoff from the nearby landfill, but it has since been beautifully restored into a park with clear water. It contains an outdoor stage and various sports facilities. * Nanji Hangang Park: Nanji Hangang Park was developed on the banks of the Hangang River. It contains a campground, soccer field, basketball court, grass field, cruise ship port, and an area for nature studies. * Haneul Park : Of the 5 World Cup Parks, Haneul Park is at the highest elevation. Once a mountain of garbage, it is now a green hill with 22 lookout points offering breathtaking views of Seoul, Namsan, Bukhansan, and Gwanaksan Mountains. 5 wind-powered generators provide power to the park and the park’s maintenance office. During the Seoul Eulalia Festival, the park is open until late in the evening * Noeul Park: Noeul Park contains a 9-hole golf course and takes up a vast area of land that was once a landfill. The park was constructed as a grassland because too much development may have caused damage to the environment, due to the buried waste. Korean Martyrs’ Museum was opened in October of 1967 as Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine, in memory of the Catholic martyrs who lost their lives during the Byeongin Persecution of 1866. The name of the museum changed to the current Korean Martyrs' Museum in August of 2008. The museum displays artifacts and materials in exhibitions related to the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea.

On a site of about 80,000m² (24,200 pyeong), 64 Tang Dynasty-style buildings including the imperial palace and 52 Goguryeo-style buildings have been built to create a themed film park that recreates Goguryeo from 1,300 years ago. Visitors to this theme park can enjoy a variety of historic experiences as well as learn traditional culture facts at one's leisure.The name 'Seorak Cinerama' comes from a compound word made up of the first few syllables of 'cinema' and the last few of 'drama'. The outdoor film studio is a new-concept open set and rated to be one of the nation’s biggest film studios, run by the Hanwha Resorts Group.As the home of the nation’s largest set of Goguryeo-style and Tang Dynasty-style buildings, tourist can travel back in time and experience a variety of folk games such as archery, and horseback riding.The venue was also used as the outdoor set location for the popular KBS drama ‘Daejoyeong’, SBS drama 'Faith', and MBC drama 'The King's Doctor'. 'Great King Sejong' was also filmed here, featuring the largest Goguryeo fortress, the Imperial Palace of the Tang Dynasty, government offices, the rear gardens of Cheukcheonmuhu, village of the nobles, Goguryeo Buheungundongji, and Goguryeo’s commoners’ village. 

Motorcycle Street is located in Ingyo-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu along Sijangbuk-ro Road. The street was originally a creek lined with houses, but in 1953 the creek was covered over and made into a paved road. Gas stations and stores selling automotive parts sprung up, turning the area into a thriving commercial district. In 1961, the first motorcycle store opened its doors and was quickly followed by several more.Currently there are 40 motorcycle stores, making this 200 meter-long street one of Daegu’s most unique shopping areas. With a vast array of new and secondhand motorcycles (both domestic and imported) motorcycle enthusiasts will be in their glory. Shoppers will also find a wide selection of motorcycle parts and accessories.

One of the amazing things about Seoul is that some of the most interesting historical sites are right in the middle of the business districts. Located near the Jongno Police Station and the Japanese Cultural Center, Unhyeongung Royal Residence is one such site. Unhyeongung Royal Residence was the home of young Gojong, who later became Emperor during the Joseon Dynasty. Under order of Queen Mother Jo, Unhyeongung was renovated into a grand, palace-like house with four gates. Gojong’s father, Yi Haeung, or better known as Heungseon Daewongun, continued to live at Unhyeongung for most of his life. Damaged during the Japanese colonial period and the Korean War, the Unhyeongung Royal Residence seen today is a much smaller version of the majestic structure that it used to be. Entering through the front gate, the first noticeable sight is a small row of rooms to the right. This area, called Sujiksa, housed the servants and guards. To the front, left-hand side of Sujiksa is a structure called Norakdang. Many important events, such as birthday parties and ceremonies, as well as the wedding ceremony for Gojong and Myeongseong, were held here. To this day, traditional wedding ceremonies continue to be held at Norakdang. Norakdang also served as one of the two women’s quarters. The most notable structure inside Norakdang is the kitchen, which was used for food preparation when hosting important events. Right outside Norakdang, there are several rock structures along the path to Irodang. The rock structures are said to resemble various animals. To the left of Norakdang lies Irodang, the main building of Unhyeongung. This was where the wife of Heungseon Daewongun resided. Irodang's most prominent feature is its tall steps and square shape. It was built this way in order to help protect the women inside from intruders. Outside Irodang lays an old well on one side of the wide, open yard. To the right of Norakdang lies Noandang. Noandang served as the men’s quarters and was where Heungseon Daewongun received his guests. The word noan means "old man" and carries with it the connotation of comfort and ease. Thus, it served as the leisure quarters for the men. However, Noandang was not just a place of rest and entertainment. As the father of a young Emperor, Heungseon Daewongun carried out all his business from Noandang. Upon exiting Noandang, there lies an Exhibition Hall to the far right. The Exhibition Hall houses a small collection of interesting artifacts and information. Items such as a scale model of Unhyeongung, writing tools, traditional wedding garments, and more, can be seen here. Next to the Exhibition Hall, there is also a small coffee shop and tea room where visitors can enjoy a nice beverage while taking in the sights of Unhyeongung. 

Bomunho Lake is a man-made lake 1,652,900m² in size. It was built on the site of an old fortress in Mount Myeonghwalsan in the east of Gyeongju in accordance with the Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Resort development plan. There are many leisure facilities and parks around the lake, including an international hotel and Gyeongju World. Bomun Lake is very popular among bikers and walkers.Unlike other cities or towns where cherry trees are only found in certain areas, Gyeongju is packed with cherry blossoms. When spring arrives, the whole cityscape turns pink with the beautiful blossoms. The combination of the stunning trees reflected in the waters of Bomunho Lake and the trees of Bulguksa Park gracefully adorning the nearby temple make for particularly stunning sights. When the light breeze blows, cherry blossoms gentle flutter down like satin snow flakes. The Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Marathon is held in April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. 

Halla Arboretum (한라수목원) was established for the study and the preservation of natural environment. Opened in December 1993, Gwangioreum there are 909 kinds of native trees and subtropical plants exhibited here. In the gardens there are 506 kinds of trees and 90 kinds of plants, and in the greenhouse there is the Subtropical Plant Hall (105 kinds) and the Native Plant Hall (103 kinds) with a total of 208 types of plants. There are 2,722 stumps of endangered and rare plants such as the Michelia Compressa and Euchresta Japonica, and the Chloranthus Glaber that only grows at Cheonjiyeon. At Halla Arboretum you can meet the four-season flower forest, colorful forests, and the beautiful seasons of mother nature at Halla.

The National Science Museum is a scientific culture facility which studies and exhibits various scientific materials. At its center is the Astronomical Hall, which is the largest dome in Korea. From here you can vividly see the phenomenon of the celestial sphere and the human development of space. It also has the only world-class space theater in Korea. The 242 seats are available on a first-come first-serve basis. It can re-create the appearance of a night sky, the highlight being the view of the starlight at the planetarium. The Astrovision is also a special visual device, giving a magnificent and realistic view of space development.There are exhibits featuring about 4000 items based on nature and natural science at the Permanent Exhibit Hall. There are also exhibit halls featuring Korean nature, weapons, and folk musical instruments. You can see the stages of collecting energy from nature, and its use in transportation. Outside the Hall is Cheomseongdae, a weather evaluating machine from the Goryeo period; models of plant-eating dinosaurs; and a steam engine. The exhibits help to easily understand the theories of science, and the wonders of nature. The museum has a movie theater. Science movies and other excellent movies are shown at 11am and 2pm every day, and the seating can accommodate 776 people.
