Waryong Recreational Forest is a clean natural resort created by clearing a portion of a lush forest near the source of Geumgang River at an elevation of 650-1,200m. The trees and valleys with clear water make the place an excellent home for animals and wild flowers. The place also has a swimming pool, a water sled park for children, hiking trails and forest paths.

Geumgang Resort (금강유원지) has become popular thanks to the construction of the Geumgang Service Area(금강휴게소). With scenic mountains and a large beautiful lake, this resort attracts many visitors. By crossing a nearby dam, visitors can get to Usan-ri. Recently, many modern homestay facilities have been built in this area, and it has been transformed into a perfect destination for families and young people alike.Utilize the many facilities of the Geumgang Service Area while relaxing at Geumgang Resort. Hoemunsan Recreational Forest (회문산자연휴양림) is situated south of Hoemunsan Mountain (830m). Since the area boasts clean valleys and various tree forests it is a good place for people who want to enjoy their rest and take leisurely strolls. In addition, above the waterfall there is a vast cloud bridge where people can feel the thrilling forces of nature. Long time ago, Hoemunsan Mountain was used as a battleground during the Korean War (1950-1953) and still features several relics that date back to that time.   Within Hoemunsan Recreational Forest, there are promenades, sporting equipment, a headquarters’ base, and an observatory. Lodging facilities include Forest Cabin, a forest lodge, camping decks, and camping grounds. Reservations can be made through the homepage (Korean).

The Theme Botanic Gardens & Arboretum was built on a farm that had been used for agriculture for nearly 20 years. By growing a large variety of plant species, the arboretum provides opportunities for learning and researching plants, and further seeks to become the largest woodland recreational space in the region.

The path to Buljeong Recreational Forest, lined with cherry blossom trees, is a beautiful and dense forest that offers a relaxing walk among the trees. The free forest tour from March to December offers visitors a guided tour complete with commentary. The resting area in the forest includes a forest cabin and a camping site. Built between trees, the forest cabins are either log houses or red-clay houses. 12 of the 14 houses open all year round. In addition, the nine zip line courses add more excitement to the whole forest experience.

Julmudeom refers to the unmarked graves of anonymous Catholic martyrs in Darakgol (Nugok), Cheongyang (Chungcheongnam-do). Darakgol is also the birthplace of St. Choi Gyeong-hwan and Choi Yang-eop (the second Catholic priest in Korea) was also martyred in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do. Because the grave is of more than one individual, it was given the name Julmudeom (group graveyard).Although the exact number of martyrs and their exact cause of death is unknown, they were buried by family resulting in the 37 mounds in three sections. In 1982, Cheongyang Cathedral established monuments to commemorate the name-less martyrs, and Julmudeom became a well-known site for Catholic pilgrimages. In 1986, the remains of St. Choi Gyeong-hwan Francisco were relocated to the Jeoldusan Martyrs’ Shrine reducing the total number of mounds at Julmudeom to 36.
