Dongdaegu Station opened on June 10th, 1969. With the introduction of Korea Trail Express (KTX) in 2004, the station expanded to become what it is today. As the largest train station in Daegu, Dongdaegu Station has the second highest number of passengers in Korea after Seoul Station. It is also one of the busiest stations, as almost all Gyeongbu line (Seoul-Busan) KTX trains as well as Saemaul, Mugunhwa and general trains bound for Gyeongju stop at the station.Dongdaegu Station is expected to become a powerful transportation hub and transit center when its expansion construction finishes in 2012, and then connects to the Express Bus Terminal and Dongdaegu Subway Station in 2013.

Established in 1986, the Busan Sports Complex features the main stadium, Sajik indoor swimming pool, an indoor gymnasium, Sajik Baseball Ground, and an athletes' training center. The main stadium was the venue for the 2002 Asian Games and several matches during the 2002 FIFA World Cup. The Sajik Baseball Ground is home of the Lotte Giants, and seats up to 28,500 people. In the 1970s, an elevated road was built to connect the eastern and western sides around Seoul Station. However, the road was closed to road traffic due to safety issues. After this, rather than tearing down the existing structure, the road was transformed into Seoullo 7017, a new pedestrian walking experience. Seoullo 7017 gets its name from its years of new life, from being a traffic road in the 70s to a sky garden in 2017. The "17" also has a deeper meaning, with Seoullo 7017 being divided into 17 unique sections, and the road being located 17 meters above the ground.
