Seochon Village, literally meaning west village, is named in reference to its location west of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Take a look down Chuncheon’s most famous side street and you will find out what the area’s most popular food is. The name of the food is dakgalbi, spicy stir-fried chicken with vegetables. The other famous food of this region is makguksu, cold buckwheat noodles. This side street is Chuncheon’s most famous shopping street. Locals refer to this street as the Myeong-dong of Chuncheon.*(Myeong-dong is a famous shopping district in the capital city of Seoul.)Dakgalbi is prepared by marinating chopped chicken in spicy red pepper paste with peppery seasoning for about one day. Cabbage, green onions, sweet potatoes, and cylinder shaped rice cakes are then added and the ingredients are all placed in a large cast iron pan. The mixture is then typically stir-fried at the table. These days many people prefer the boneless option. Dakgalbi can be enjoyed on its own or wrapped in lettuce leaves for a fresh, crunchy taste. After most of the Dakgalbi has been eaten, rice is then stir-fried with the remaining sauce in the pan. This dish is ordered according to the number of people eating. Large quantities are usually given, so if you go with three people it is recommended to order Dakgalbi for two.For years, the Chuncheon region has been well known for its abundant poultry farms. The famous shopping street in Chuncheon started out with only 2~3 dakgalbi restaurants. Now there are currently around 25.Due to the close proximity of the restaurants, the prices are almost identical.

The museum, which is located in Bukchon Hanok Village in Gahoe-dong in Seoul, has on exhibit embroidery-related relics and works of Han Sang-soo, who has been named Intangible Cultural Asset No. 80. The museum was established to promote Korean embroidery artwork, preserve traditional techniques, and encourage new creations.Visitors can view the permanent exhibition and the special exhibitions, and take part in regular hands-on embroidery programs for a fee of 3,000 won. The program operates from 10am to 5pm and does not require a reservation. The one-hour program starts with a demonstration by an instructor, after which participants embroider a handkerchief according to instructions. The handkerchief is to take home after the program is finished. Instructions are given only in Korean, so foreigners are advised to come with a local guide. 

Daegu Jeil Church is the oldest Protestant Church in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. Initially established in 1898 over four tile-roofed houses, Daegu Jeil Church was rebuilt in 1933 with traditional and Western architectural designs. Subsequently, Deacon Lee Ju-Yeol dedicated a 33m bell tower in 1937, whlie the church underwent an interior renovation in 1969, and an expansion in 1981.In conjuction with its physical development, which was at the forefront of the nation's architectural modernization, the church contributed largely to modernization and expansion of Christianity in the region as well as in Korea. In addition, by introducing modern medicine and education to the citizens of Daegu, the founders of Daegu Jeil Church stimulated social development in the region.

S.J. Cho Korean Paper Art Gallery is dedicated to hanji (traditional Korean paper) art and opened in July of 2011. Hanji art uses an array of colorful hanji paper to create an image that is similar to a painting, but without the paints and brushes. Paper can be torn, folded, or crumpled into different shapes to create a unique work of art. S.J. Cho Korean Paper Art is the center of the Korean Hanji Art Organization, which has helped popularize hanji art over the past 30 years. Visitors can browse through hanji art at the gallery, enjoy traditional tea at the café, or look out at Bukhansan Mountain on the rooftop. The Experience Hall is located in the basement, where visitors can learn more about hanji art, or even try their hand at making their own.

This road takes you from Sinchon Subway Station right to Yonsei University. Like branching tree roots, the numerous side streets diverge off the main road. In 1999 Yonsei College Street was designated as “The Road One Wants to Walk.” Since then this famous street has been improved upon even more, placed on tourist maps and promoted by businesses. A visitor to this area can eat at a plethora of restaurants, coffee shops and stores. In the afternoon hours, you can also enjoy the taste of small food stands that line the sidewalks.

Ocean World is located in Vivaldi Park resort on the slopes of Mt Palbongsan in the Hongcheon region of Gangwon-do province. Vivaldi Park resort is internationally renowned for its ski facilities, but they are not the only attraction in the resort, Ocean World Water Park is also very popular. The park covers 120,982,200 sq ft, which is 14 times bigger than a soccer field, and it can accommodate up to 18,000 people at the same time. It is designed to look like an oasis in the middle of the Egyptian desert, in order to give visitors the experience of a cool, refreshing swim under the bright sun. Ocean World even features a large Sphinx and pyramid, giving visitors a sense of Egypt’s mysterious past. Ocean World has many thrilling and exciting attractions. These include the 300 meter-long Extreme River, which has fast-flowing currents, Surfing Mount, where waves reach up to 2.4-meters, Family Raft Slide, Spa Village, and Angel’s pool. Ocean World is divided into various zones: Indoor Zone, Extreme Zone, and Dynamic Zone, which opened in May 2009. The new zone features the very popular Monster Blaster, Super Boomerango, and Giant Waterplex water slides. In addition to the water rides, there is a Jjimjilbang (a Korean-style sauna), a shopping mall, and restaurants.    

Imjingak Resort, located 7 km from the Military Demarcation Line, is now at the forefront of tourism related to the Korean War. Imjingak was built in 1972 with the hope that someday unification would be possible. The three-storied Imjingak is surrounded by several monuments, Unification Park and North Korea Center.Over 400 photos and documents showing the stark reality of North Korea are displayed in the North Korea Center of Unification Board. Outside Imjingak, there are 12 unique tanks and warcrafts on display that were used during the war.Mangbaedan Alter, which stands opposite Imjingak, is famous as the place where Korean's separated from their families in the North visit to perform ancestral rites by bowing toward their hometowns every New Year's Day and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving). The Bridge of Freedom, which South Koreans crossed when they came back to their mother country from North Korea after the signing of the Armistice Agreement, stands behind Mangbaedan Alter.In front of Imjingak is the Gyeongui Train Line which was destroyed during the Korean War in 1950. It has been under reconstruction since 2000. Every year many events for unification are held at Imjingak. The Busan Aquarium takes visitors into the exciting world of life under the sea. The aquarium covers an area of 36,000 ㎡ and is spread over 3 underground levels and one above-ground level with different sections divided into special themes.
