Hwangji Pond

Hwangji Pond is a source of the Nakdonggang River (525km), the longest river in Korea. The pond is an important joint of underground water flow through the valleys of Taebaeksan, Hambaeksan, Baekbyeongsan and Maebongsan, the mountains surrounding the city of Taebaek. There are three sections of the pond: Sangji (high pond), 100m in diameter, Jungji (middle pond), 50m in diameter and Haji (low pond), 30m in diameter. Although it is small in size, the pond supplies 5,000 tons of water a day that flows to the open Yeongnampyeongya Plain. Being located at the center of Taebaek-si, Hwangji Pond is a popular destination for the citizens of Taebaek for cultural and recreational purposes. The night view of the pond is also beautiful, which makes it a perfect place for a couple’s night out. The water is very clean and lenoks can be found here, which only live in high quality water.

Jeju Trick Eye Museum

Jeju Trick Eye Museum opened in January 2013 as the third in the franchise, after Hongdae and Busan. The museum offers exciting and unique paintings created with a special technique to appear 3D. Visitors can create 'new' works of art by placing themselves into the famous paintings for a fun experience and one-of-a-kind souvenir photo.

Cheongsapo Port (청사포)

Cheongsapo Port is located on the right at the end of Dalmaji Hill in the direction of Songjeong in Haeundae. Along with Gudeokpo Port and Mipo Port, Cheongsapo Port is among the three ports lined against the coastal shore between Haeundae and Songjeong. Cheongsapo Port is famous as a place to view beautiful sunsets and where quality seaweed can be found. The rocks scattered along the port's shore are crowded with fishers. Railroad tracks that run along the shoreline make the area even more special, being one of the only two railroad tracks in Korea to be situated near sea.

Yeongam Pottery Museum
 
Jeollanam-do(Yeongam-gun) ,
Situated at the foot of Wolchulsan Mountain in Yeongam (Jeollanam-do), Gurim Village is the center of ceramic culture in Korea. Legend has it that Wangin and Monk Doseon of the Baekje Dynasty were born in this village. Boasting 2,200 years of history, the village is home to the Yeongam Pottery Museum, which opened in April 2008 after renovating the previous Pottery Culture Center. The Regular Exhibition Hall displays the history of pottery in Yeongam, from Gurim Pottery of the Unified Silla Period to works excavated from kilns of the Chosun Dynasty. Visitors can also participate in a hands-on program crafting pottery and can purchase local products and tea sets at the museum gift shop. At the entrance of the museum is Siyu Dogi (pottery) Kiln (Historic Site No. 338) that produced the first slipware pottery in Korea; it was excavated by the Ewha Woman’s University Museum. The courtyard next to the kiln is decorated with ceramic chairs, tables, and pots. The museum hosts diverse exhibitions focusing on pottery every year. Moreover, the museum is close to popular tourist attractions including the Wangin Historic Site, Dogapsa Temple, and Wolchulsan National Park. Gurim Village also hosts the Wangin Culture Festival every spring when cherries are in blossom.  

Jangsado Sea Park

Located in Hansan-myeon, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jangsado Island is an island that is just 400 m in x_width, and 1.9 km in length, reaching an altitude of 108 m with total area of 390,131㎡. The island’s trees number approximately 100,000, with numerous camellia trees, and other varieties including silver magnolia. It also has beautiful fairy pitta birds, a natural monument, in addition to white eye birds. Local plants representative of Jangsado Island include aerides and dendrobium monile. The island’s name derives from its long shape, which resembles a silkworm (“jam” is a Chinese character that means “silkworm”).Located on Geoje Island, Hallyeohaesang National Park Korea is famous for its beautiful Camellia flowers that bloom in winter. The whole area of Island is covered with hydrangea in summer featuring different beauty of each season. Most of plants consists of evergreen trees which makes the island the greenness all year long.The island embraces its natural surrounding at maximum to preserve their natural beauty by the minimum of development. The eco-friendly park houses various sculptures and artistic pieces every place, and various performances are taken at outdoor performance hall which can accommodate up to 1,000 seats. So the park features a new-concept of cultural marine park, co-existing nature and culture alike.

Energy Environment Science Park - Energy Exhibition Hall
 
Gyeongsangnam-do(Changwon-si) ,
The Energy Exhibition Hall in the Energy Environment Science Park is in the shape of a sailboat to complement the oceanic scenery surrounding the museum. The exhibition hall consists of a showroom and an observation room that introduce the principles and usage of alternative energy. The exhibition center demonstrates how wind and photovoltaic power plants work, and in what ways clean renewable energy is being used. The center is also used as a solar power plant, and visitors can observe devices and facilities powered by future energies.

Imsil Cheese Village
 
Jeollabuk-do(Imsil-gun) ,
Imsil, Jeollabuk-do, a town famous for being Korea’s first cheese-making village, offers hands-on experience programs while living in clean, unpolluted farm country. The village is attracting the attention of foreign visitors who are interested in making and tasting local Korean cheese. Thanks to its proximity to the Hanok (traditional Korean-style house) Village of Jeonju, only 30 minutes away, many tourists choose to stay at a traditional hanok and visit the cheese village from there. The experience programs are run all year round except on Mondays. Visitors are advised to make a phone reservation at least three days prior to visiting.

Hyangho Beach
 
Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si) ,
Hyangho Beach is located in Jumunjin, Gangneung. It is a beach attraction where the boy band BTS filmed their album photo at a bus stop. Although the bus stop in the photo is not an actual bus stop, the booth remains at the beach as a photo zone. Other photo zones are also scattered around the beach, drawing many visitors who seek to take memorable photos with the open beach in the background.  

Jeongdongjin Time Museum

Jeongdongjin Time Museum is a museum with the theme of “humans and time.” Over 250 rare, artistic clocks from all over the world help visitors understand the history of humans and science and how they deal with time. It is not only a great learning center, but also a venue for friends, couples, or families to appreciate the importance of time in our lives.

Kkotji Beach

Located 4 km southwest from on-site Anmyeon-eup, Kkotji Beach is 3.2 km in length and 300m wide. The beach has perfect conditions with its gentle slope, clear water and its comfortable water temperature. You can enjoy fresh fish from the nearby Port Bangpohang, as well as see the legendary Halmibawi Rock.The beautiful view of the sunset here attracts numerous photographers during all four seasons.
