Heungguksa Temple
 
Jeollanam-do(Yeosu-si) ,
The name of Heungguksa Temple means “if the country prospers, the temple does well.” The temple was established to pray for the country to flourish. Located on Yeongchwisan Mountain, Heunaguksa was founded by Bojo Guksa in 1195.Within the compound are other buildings including Wontongjeon, Palsangjeon and Daeungjeon (Main Hall). The temple’s main hall (Treasure 396) is open in its structure and equipped with Korean traditional doors. A Buddhist painting named Hubultaenghwa is designated as Treasure No. 578. At the entrance to the temple is a rainbow-shaped stone bridge called Honggyo Bridge (Treasure No. 563), which is widely known as a distinguished work of art.On Yeongchwisan Mountain, azaleas begin to bloom in early April and completely take over the mountain by the end of the month. Azalea blossoms create an extravagant view along the ridgeline of Yeongchwibong Peak (439m above sea level) and Jillyebong Peak (510m above sea level). During this period, the Mount Yeongchwisan Azalea Festival takes place.

Yongjusa Temple Stay

Yongjusa Temple, located on Songsan Mountain in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, aims to help participants to understand the meaning of ‘filial piety’ through its temple stay programs. In addition to Buddhism, the programs are designed to teach the meaning and value of family. ​

Gangchon Station
 
Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si) ,
Located in 34, Gangchon-ro, Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, Gangchon Station is one of train stations in Gyeongchun Line. It is situated between Gimyujeong and Baekyang-ri. The metropolitan subway line, Gyeongchun Line, started operating on December 21, 2010 and rapid train used to stop at the station even during weekdays since August 2011. However, the rapid train is no more operating due to the introduction of ITX-Cheongchun Train.

Samnyeonsanseong Fortress
 
Chungcheongbuk-do(Boeun-gun) ,
Samnyeonsanseong Fortress in surrounded by the gorgeous mountains of Boeun County. The area is considered one of the most magnificent spots in Chungbuk Province, which was also the site of many battles during the Three Kingdom Period.Samnyeonsanseong Fortress was so named because it was completed three years after construction began in 470 A.D. (during the reign of King Jabi Maripgan). The fortress was at the forefront of Silla’s expansion into northwest territories. It was also the site where King Muyeol (654-661 A.D.) welcomed the Dang Dynasty ambassador during the War of the Three Kingdoms.The sprawling stone-built walls stretch over a mile in length with x_heights and x_widths of 13 and 8-10 meters respectively. The compound still has traces of the north, east and west gate locations which give explanation to ancient theories of fortress construction in Korea. 

Hwarangdae Railroad Park (화랑대 철도공원)

Hwarangdae Railroad Park is a 400 meter long light park featuring 10 different themed courses with various lit sculptures.

Socheongdo Island
 
Incheon(Ongjin-gun) ,
Located about 5㎞ southeast of Daecheongdo Island, Socheongdo Island is a quiet, little island resided mainly by the tiny population of elderly people. The only two fishing villages on the island are located on the other side of the hill from the ferry port. Island History The tranquil Socheongdo Island has a rather sad history. Some days after the liberation from Japanese occupation, three mines floated onto the shores of the island, one of them exploding on landing. The islanders began dismantling the remaining two as a means of fuel. After successfully dismantling the first one, the last one exploded, killing 59 people and injuring 8. There is a monument on the pier front in the main village that memorializes the deceased from the tragic accident. Meanwhile, it is said that the majority of the current day elderly population arrived on Socheongdo Island during the Korean War (1950-53).

Gapgotdondae Fortification
 
Incheon(Ganghwa-gun)
Gapgot Fortification was built in 1679 to protect the Ganghwa Straits from invasions. A highly strategic location for the Goryeo Kingdom, the site had also endured multiple invasions by the Mongolian troops between 1232 and 1270. The eight cannons that were set up at the time of the fortification construction are displayed at the site.

Saneum Recreational Forest

Gyeonggi-do Yangpyeong’s Saneum Recreational Forest (산음자연휴양림) is located at the base of Danwol-myeon Saneum-ri Bongmisan Mountain. The forest is very lush and the valley boasts spectacular views. The list of trees includes pine, oak, and maple.Facilities include promenades and mountain trails. For lodging there is the Forest Cabin, forest Lodge, and camping grounds. Reservations can be made through the homepage.

Namae Beach
 
Gangwon-do(Yangyang-gun) ,
Including the beautiful bay, Maeho, Namae-ri has three beaches. The northernmost among the three is the largest, with a sandy beach measuring 2 kilometers long and 100 meters wide. The sand is great quality, and the water is shallow, with an average water depth of only 1 to 2 meters. Also, a field of reeds is beautifully stretched out like a painting on both sides of the water road in Maeho Bay. Near Maeho Bay is the breeding ground for egrets and grey herons in Pomae-ri, designated as Natural Monument No. 229. Namae 3-ri Beach, 1.3 km in length and 100 m in x_width, is close to Namae Harbor so that fresh seafood is always available. Namae 1-ri Beach is a small beach located in the southernmost area, measuring only 600 meters in length. Namae Harbor is one of the famous sunrise spots in this area of the East Sea, along with Chuam Beach in Donghae, and Naksan Beach in Yangyang.
