Incheon(Bupyeong-gu)

The city of Bupyeong is surrounded by Gyeyangsan Mountain, Cheolmasan Mountain, and Manwolsan Mountain, which all form a basin-shaped area in the center. Bupyeong slowly began to establish itself as a city after the opening of Gyeongin railway and the U.S. Army base established right after the Korean War.Sinteuri Park in Bupyeong 4(sa)-dong neighborhood is equipped with outdoor recreational facilities including a soccer field, tennis court, badminton court, children’s playground, walking trail, and water fountain, spanning an impressive 58,594㎡. It also has a library with 1,500 seats, and a floor area of 7,869㎡. The park serves as a main recreational area for Bupyeong-area residents.


Gyeonggi-do(Icheon-si)

Located in Seolbong Park, the Woljeon Museum of Art Icheon commemorates the great artist Woljeon Chang Woo Soung and his works. Originally opened in Seoul Jongro-gu Palpan-dong, the museum moved to Icheon in August 2007 when Woljeon bequeathed the museum to Icheon City along with 1,532 pieces of artwork and personal memorabilia. The new Woljeon Museum has 2 stories and 1 basement floor with 5 exhibitions halls (permanent & planned exhibition halls), a Woljeon Memorial Hall, a lecture hall, a souvenir shop, and a cafeteria. In the permanent exhibition hall, Chang’s masterpieces and personal belongings are on display, ranging from paintings and calligraphic works to stamps, ceramic works, books, and stationery.


Busan(Gijang-gun)

Cheokpanam Hermitage was initially built in 673 by a monk named Wonhyo, whose legend is still passed down, and was restored in 1938 by another monk named Gyeongheo. Nestled inside the forest on Bulgwangsan Mountain, the hermitage offers a splendid view of the its surroundings. It is located nearby Jangansa Temple, also built by Wonhyo.

Narodo (나로도) consists of Oe-narodo and Nae-narodo, located 25kms southeast of Goheung-eup. Oe-narodo, is a part of Dadohae National Marine Park (다도해해상국립공원). Fresh seafood at a low price is readily available at Narodo Port (Chukjeong Port) in Oe-narodo. All of Narodo is famous for its’ fishing places. Every season a variety of fish can be caught. The beaches in Narodo have a gentle decline and are skirted by a forest of evergreen trees aged hundreds of years, which offer great shade from the summer heat. Haban Village, the most remote village in Oe-narodo, is the best place for a family summer retreat since it has a small forest and a beach. It also has Korea’s first space center.  


Gyeongsangnam-do(Changwon-si)

Located in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Changwon Marine Park celebrates the nation’s marine history and culture. Major facilities at the park include the Naval Battle History Hall, the Warship Exhibition Hall, and the Marine Life Theme Park. Exhibit Hall Information Naval Battle History Hall (2-stories/1,880 square meters): - 1F: hands-on exhibition rooms about naval battles of the East and the West - 2F: themed exhibitions “Marine Force and Naval Force” and “Jinhae, the Advanced Marine Base.” Warship Exhibition Hall: - Highlights: US naval destroyer used during Korean War (size: 119m by 35m/weight: 2,500 tons), 321-ton warship, 110-ton high-speed vessel, exhibit of daily life of naval personnel, exhibit of ship interior (engine room, captain’s cabin, strategy room, etc.), warship gun “experience” Marine Life Theme Park (3 stories/shell-shaped building): - Highlights: hands-on experience room, video room, and special exhibition room about marine ecosystems


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

The Gyeongju Springdome Resort uses 100% natural hot springs water, which comes from 750 meters underground. Families and couples can enjoy the hot springs all year round at this hot springs theme park, which provides exciting outdoor water facilities at affordable prices. The Animal Fountain and Water Spilling Pot are located in the outdoor Kid’s Pool along with a frog-shaped waterslide, perfect for little children.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

Gangguan Port is located in Tongyeong close to the sea, markets, cultural areas and food.


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

Seogwang Tea Garden, located in Seogwipo-si, Jeju, is known as the most well managed and largest tea plantation in Korea. Here, the tea leaves receive just the right amount of sun for it to be made into the highest quality product. Occupying an area 528,928m², the green field is spread out across the slopes of Seogwangseo-ri, attracting many visitors to the site. The fields didn't use to be this green though; the ground was rocky and the soil composition wasn't fertile enough for plants to survive. Seogwang Tea Garden's transformation from a barren land to a lush green plantation became a good example of successful agriculture in the mountain areas. The garden was also where Kim Jeong-hui (pen name Chusa), one of the most celebrated practitioners of calligraphy in the Joseon Dynasty, spent his life of exile growing tea plants.


Gyeonggi-do(Ansan-si)

The Ansan Botanical Garden (안산식물원) has three pavilions: The first pavilion (382.81㎡) is a tropical garden, while the second pavilion in the middle (846㎡) and the third to the south (846㎡), feature marsh plants. Outside are four rose gardens, a fruit tree garden, a wild plant garden, a plant succession garden, and a pond (featuring a total of 46 plants including red momo botan lotus). The botanical park has a pyramid-shaped, modern greenhouse that is a source of pride for Ansan City. The park is also connected to Seongho Park.
