Gyeonggi-do(Yeoju-si) , Yeoju

Silleuksa is located along a riverside village overlooking blue water and a spacious sand beach on the edge of the river running south, running from Mt. Bongmi to the Yeo River. It is said that Silleuksa was built by Monk Wonhyo during the reign of King Jinpyeong in the Silla Period, but it is not for sure. Silleuksa Temple’s name was said to originate from a legend that an uncontrollably swift horse was reined up by the power of god. Inside the temple is Josadang, the temple’s oldest building; Dancheungjeon-tab, a tower made of mud bricks; Daejanggakgibi; Bumjonggak; and at the heart of the temple stands Geuknakjun Hall (Hall of Paradise). Gangwolhun, located along the riverbank’s cliff, is Silleuksa Temple’s, one of the most popular sights for couples, where tourists can view the Han River in the south and its surrounding scenery.


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

This resort boasts fine views of magnificent Hallasan Mountain with its clean and ice-cold water. These waters, deep valleys, waterfalls and the thick evergreen forest create beautiful scenery. If you walk 20min from the "Donnaeko Recreational Area," at the entrance you can see the Wonang Pokpo Waterfall (5m high) and a small pond. The walkway that follows the valley is just the place for a relaxing forest experience.Both sides of the "Donnaeko Recreational Area" are covered with dense green forest, and the forest is crowded with cymbidium orchids (Orchids that grow in the evergreen forest on the south part of Jejudo Island, 70~900m above sea level, unique orchids to the island that blossom from December to January). Winter strawberries also grow here.The peak season of this beautiful valley is Baekjung Day (Lunar Calendar: June 15th). On Baekjung Day in Jeju-do, there is a tradition of eating chicken and being splashed with water. This is because there is a saying that you can recover from neuralgia after showering under the cascading water. So many people gather and celebrate on Baekjung Day. The name 'Donnaekko' came about because there are many boars here. But since the 1920's, no boars have been seen.


Gyeonggi-do(Gwangju-si)

The Traditional Food Town around Namhansanseong Fortress has nearly 70 restaurants offering rice, dotori-muk (acorn jelly), tojong-dak (chicken), and other traditional dishes. The place embraces almost 300 years of Korean history and the restaurants were built in traditional hanok-style around Namhansanseong Fortress, a military stronghold built during the period of the Three Kingdoms (57 BCE-668 CE).


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

Da Vinci Museum, located in Seogwipo-si on Jeju Island is the only museum that has the Da Vinci License in Korea. The museum offers visitors a chance to experience a wide variety of activities and hands-on programs. When you think of Leonardo Da Vinci, a few things that come to mind are the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. However, one of the greatest masterpieces in his life is the Codex, a collection of his writings. Over 7,000 pages of the Codex, A.K.A. a notebook of secrets, survives today, and the museum displays over 200 works created and inspired based on the writings in the Codex. The museum houses information about the life and times of Leonardo Davinci, a superb scientist, anatomist, and inventor.


Gangwon-do(Yangyang-gun)

Since its opening in 1963, this beach, out of the other 3 beaches in Donghaean (East Coast) continues to have a great number of visitors every summer. Dense pine tree forests, 4 km of white sands, and shallow waters of 1.5m ~ 70m are characteristic of this beach.Also, Naksansa Temple, one of the eight beautiful sights of the Gwandong area (Gwandongpalgyeong), and the Uisangdae tourist attractions surround this beach, making it even more attractive to visitors. The beautiful four seasons of Seoraksan Mountain can be witnessed in just 10 min. by car, and one can taste delicious seafood at Jeonjinhang, only a 5 min. car ride away.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Changwon-si)

Masan is made more beautiful by Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village, a local renovation effort made by Gyeongnam Bank. The village is one of the top exotic photo zones. Walking through the village from Chang-dong, past Burim Market, and on to Seongho-dong mountain neighborhood, the colorful murals will bright every step of the way.


Jeollanam-do(Mokpo-si)

Located on the coast of Yonghae-dong in Mokpo, Gatbawi is a natural sandstone and tafoni formation near the mouth of the Yeongsangang River, where freshwater runs into the sea. Gatbawi is named after its shape, which is said to look like a man wearing a traditional Korean hat called a “gat” (“bawi” meaning “rock”). The rock is actually made of two individual formations: one measuring 8m high and one 6m high. Valued not only for its aesthetics, Gatbawi Rock is of high geological value as a “natural sculpture” that was formed as a result of years of weathering. The rock formation was officially recognized as Natural Monument No. 500 on April 27, 2009.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Hadong-gun)

The Tea Culture Center located at the foot of Jirisan Mountain in Hadong Gyeongsangnam-do Province aims to promote the tea culture of the area, the first tea producer in the nation, while advertising the quality and superiority of Hadong green tea. The center is located adjacent to the tea farming area and Ssanggyesa Temple, one of the most famous tourist attractions in Korea.In the Tea Culture Center, there is a tea culture museum where you may learn about the history and culture associated with Korean tea. At the Tea Promotional and Experience Center visitors can enjoy such hands-on programs like making tea in a traditional hand-made way and learning the traditional tea etiquette of the region, a pottery class where you can make your own pottery in a traditional way, and a tea market where you can purchase a variety of high-quality tea produced in the region. Every year, the center holds the Hadong Wild Tea & Culture Festival, an official local celebration designated by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.


Gyeonggi-do(Yongin-si) , Yongin

The Hankuk Art Museum first opened its door to the public in May 1983 in Gahoedong and was later moved to its current location. Focusing on modern art and the promotion of Korean art, the gallery presents special displays and open-run exhibitions mainly featuring artwork such as Western and Korean paintings, pottery, sculpture, photos, and tapestries.The gallery is comprised of five exhibition halls including indoor and outdoor sculpture exhibition halls. There is also a library open to the public with art-related books, magazines, and videos.Hankuk Art Museum is a pioneering and time-honored leader in the field of arts education as well. In 2006 alone, around 800 people joined in programs at the gallery. Programs focus on helping locals better understand the arts and on nurturing the creativity of children.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

Andong Hahoe Doenjang Village is located by the crossroad of Hahoe Village and Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy in Pungcheon-myeon, Andong-si. The village is built purely of red clay and the villagers are devoted to preserving the 600 year-long tradition of doenjang (fermented soybean paste) making. Over 3,000 large jars used for storing doenjang will greet visitors at the village entrance. Highlights of the village include a red clay storage room capable of storing around 100 tons of soybeans, a giant iron pot for boiling up to 100 kilograms of beans at once, and a large glass drying room used for hanging meju (fermented soybean blocks) to dry. Using these features, doenjang is made by boiling domestically produced soybeans and shaping them into blocks of meju, which are then left to ferment and dry for 2 to 3 months. The village facilities are comprised of an exhibition center at the entrance, a production center, and two drying rooms. The exhibition center invites visitors to sample various fermented soybean condiments and displays all the products made in this village. The drying rooms are specially designed to allow maximum sunlight and ventilation. Finally, the production center preserves the traditional methods of making doenjang such as boiling soybeans in a giant iron pot and fermenting meju in a ondolbang (a room with the Korean floor heating system).
