German Village
Gyeongsangnam-do(Namhae-gun)

The German Village was built for Korean residents who returned from living in Germany. Many Korean lived in Germany where they earned foreign currency during the modernization of Korea in the 1960's. The area is now a unique tourism spot related to German culture. Since 2001, the area of Mulgeon-ri, Samdong-myeon, Namhae-gun, where the Windbreak Forest (Natural Monument No. 150) is located, 3 billion won ($2 million USD) worth of development by Namhae-gun and eventually the area was able to establish almost 70 buildings throughout the area spanning over 99,174m2 (30,000 pyeong). Korean residents in Germany directly imported materials from Germany to build German-style houses. When residents are not living in the house while in Germany, the houses are used as tourist houses. Also nearby is the Windbreak Forest and one of the most beautiful coastal drives in Korea, the Mulmi Coastal Road.

Misiryeong Valley
Gangwon-do(Inje-gun)

Misiryeong Valley is about 5 km in length and starts from Yongdae-samgeori and extends in a northeasterly direction to Dojeok Pokpo Waterfall. At Misiryeong Valley the water is clean and many Giam cliffs can be seen. You can also find the rarely known Dojeok Pokpo Waterfall and Chotdae Bawi Rock. On the way to Inje from Dojeok Waterfall, you will come across Seon Bawi Rock, where you can relax and rest. From beyond that point, the valley is 2.5 km long ending at Yongdae-samgeori. You must hold on to a rope while climbing down the steep pathway to Dojeok Pokpo Waterfall. There is a myth saying that Dojeok, meaning thief in Korean, hid until he discovered a person passing through Misiryeong. When a person appeared, the thief would rob the person kill the traveler by drowning him/her in the waterfall. Therefore, the waterfall was named Dojeok Pokpo (Waterfall) or Dojeokso (Pond). Misiryeong Valley still preserves its beauty of primeval forest and has relatively low temperature during summer. The surrounding areas consist of many tourist sites such as Baekdamsa Temple, Yongdae Nature Recreation Area, the Valley of the Twelve Angels' Bath, Oknyeotang, Jangsudae, Daeseung Waterfall and Pillye Mineral Spring.

Uljin Geumgang Pine Trail
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Uljin-gun)

The Pine Forest Trail on Geumgangsan Mountain in Uljin goes through a beautiful forest of lush pine trees growing tall and straight with uncommonly bright bark. These special trees are called Geumgang Pine Trees, sometimes shortened to "gangsong" ('songi' is pine in Korean). The forest has many old trees, including at 520-year-old "grandfather pine," leading to the forest being designated a protected status. Visitors who wish to walk through the pine tree tunnel and enjoy a 'forest bathing' experience must make reservations in advance.

Taeanhaean National Park (태안해안국립공원) consists of about 130 islands around Anmyeondo Island (안면도) and Taean Peninsula (태안반도). Jangsaengpo Whale Museum

The Jangsaengpo Whale Museum (opened on May, 31 2005) is the first and only whale museum in Korea and stands on what used to be a central area for the Korean whaling industry. After whaling was banned in 1986, 250 artifacts from whalers and the whaling industry were collected and put on display. Visitors can enjoy experience zones such as the Whale Belly Road or the Underwater Adventure Zone. Exhibitions include things like a Bryde's whale skeleton, a killer whale skeleton, a gray whale corner, and whaling ships.

Nongae Shrine
Jeollabuk-do(Jangsu-gun)

Uiamsa Shrine was built to the memory of Chu Nongae, who sacrificed her life during the Imjin War (Japanese Invasion of Korea). In 1846, the Nongae-saeng-jang-hyang-su-myeong-bi monument was put up in praise of Nongae’s patriotism. In 1955, a shrine was built and named Uiamsa, which was then moved to the current location in 1974. Within the precincts of the shrine are a memorial stone, the portrait of Nongae by artist Kim Eun-ho, and the three gates Woesammun, Naesammun and Chunguimun erected one after another. At the memorial hall, the existing possessions of Nongae and her husband General Choi Gyeong-hoe are on display. The annual Nongae Festival takes places on September 3rd by the lunar calendar, during which memorial services and cultural events are held to commemorate Nongae.
