Baengnyeonsa Temple (Gangjin) (백련사-강진)

Built based upon the Cheontae Doctrine, Baengnyeonsa Temple (백련사) played an important role in promoting the restoration of Buddhism. Located east of Mandeoksan Mountain (만덕산), Baengnyeonsa Temple is famous for its camellia forest skirting the road to the temple. One of the two most beautiful camellia colonies in Korea, including camellias on Odong-do Island in Yeosu, this colony of camellias was designated as natural treasure No. 151. The camellias come into full bloom around the end of March. Gangjin Bay, seen from Baengnyeonsa Temple, and the road that leads from the temple to Dasan Chodang are also famed for their scenic beauty.

Naju Station (나주역)
Jeollanam-do(Naju-si)

Naju Station is a railway station on the Honam Line serving the Jeolla region. The station is located in Songwol-dong, Naju-si in South Jeolla Province. The old Naju Station located in Jungnim-dong was the starting point of the Gwangju Student Independence Movement in 1929 that began as a result of the conflicts between Korean and Japanese students who used to commute to Gwangju by train. This historically significant event had delayed the relocation of Naju Station. With the partial opening of the two-track Honam line on July 10, 2001, Naju Station was integrated with Yeongsanpo Station and moved to its current location in front of Naju City Hall. The facilities at the old Naju Station had been too old and the station building too small to sufficiently accommodate the number of passengers in the region, so it was the Yeongsanpo Station that used to cover the passenger demand. After the integration of the two stations, all regular trains on Honam Line, as well as some of the high-speed KTX trains stop at Naju Station.

Eochi Valley

Only recently discovered by the public, Eochi Valley (어치계곡) is the deepest and most picturesque valley of Baegunsan Mountain’s four valleys. There are many waterfalls, large and small, along the 7km valley. The scenic beauty is comparable to that of the valleys in Jirisan Mountain. The sound of the waterfalls and chirping birds are pleasant to the ear. Also, there is Orodae Peak (오로대), where the soothing murmur of cool running water and singing birds welcome visitors throughout the day.

Bangtaesan Mountain
Gangwon-do(Inje-gun)

Bangtaesan Mountain, located in Inje-gun, Ganwon-do, sits on the border between Inje-gun and Hongcheon-gun. Its long ridges and deep valleys make the mountain outstanding in its beauty. Being in a place where it’s not easy to get to, the mountain’s natural elements are in pristine condition. Water flows from Jugeokbong Peak (1,443m) and Guryongdoekbong Peak (1,338m) through Achimgarigol Valley and Jeoggarigol Valley. Southwest of Jugeokbong Peak, the highest peak of the mountain, is the Gaein mineral water spring that is famous for its pungent taste and carbonated water. With cool weather in summer and colorful autumn foliage in fall, Bangtaesan Mountain is a perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of South Korea. Bangtaesan Recreational Forest also offers sleeping accomodations for visitors.

Seondol Cliff (선돌)

Jeongseon Station

The birthplace of Jeongseon Arirang, Jeongseon. After the coal mining rationalizing business, floating population travelling Joengseon to the metropolitan area has been dramatically decreased and so did the population at Jeongseon. All the stations in Jeongseon Line have now operates with no station employee reside in and Jeongseon station is the only one with a station staff, maintaining its existence. After Korea started to have a day off on Saturday, the birthplace of Jeongseon Arirang has been a popular touristic place.
