Gyejoksan Mountain Red Clay Trail

The Gyejoksan Mountain Red Clay Trail is an eco-healing walking trail which can be found on the nation’s first mountain with a barefoot walking theme, Mount Gyejok. In 2008, it was considered as one of the ‘33 travel destinations to go back to’ by travel journalists. About 500 children from 100 different countries who took part in the United Nations Children's Conference on the Environment, and Republic of Seychelles President James Michel have also gone barefoot walking on Mount Gyejok. Visitors can walk on red clay and breathe in the fresh aroma of pine trees while enjoying a view of downtown Daejeon from Gyejoksanseong Fortress, which was built during the time of the Three Kingdoms. The trail helps restore the health of the body and soul and gives visitors a therapeutic and unique experience. This 14-kilometer long trail is situated at an altitude between 200 meters and 300 meters above sea level. In autumn, the mountain is bustling with bikers who come to enjoy the splendid landscape of Mount Gyejok. Every year the Eco-Healing Sunyang Masai Marathon, which requires participants to forgo shoes and traverse soft red clay trail, is held at Mount Gyejoksan in Daejeon, drawing a total of 5,000 participants including 600 foreigners from 40 countries. The marathon has established itself as a major festival of Daejeon and is held every year in May.

Busan Asiad Main Stadium

Busan Asiad Main Stadium, consisting of 1 underground floor and 4 above-ground floors, with an area of 330,000㎡, has been furnished with 53,000 seats including 252 seats for guests with physically disabilities, and has a maximum holding capacity of 80,000 spectators in stadium. Since beginning construction in November of 1993, the city of Busan invested a total of 22,694,800 won, a work force of 488,000 laborers, and 7 years and 9 months to complete the stadium. An auxiliary stadium of 24,785㎡ stands next to the main stadium. Asiad Main Stadium is a multi-purpose sports complex for holding various performances and residential events. The architectural structure is designed to flow with the image of the international marine city, Busan, focusing on curved, delicate lines throughout rather than straight lines in order to reflect the ocean's rolling waves. The circumference of the stadium is equipped with a deck, similar in appearance to the belt of Saturn. With forty-eight pillars and seventy-two gateways, the wall-less deck embodies an openness with the world and the flow of cosmic energy. Busan Asiad Main Stadium was the first sports arena in Korea to be recognized as a first-class international stadium by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Even in the case of heavy rain, with rainfall of as much as 10~15mm/hr, players can continue their competitions after 12~24 hours because of the unique lawn planting method. A lighting system of 2000 lx and the greatest electric scoreboard also provide spectators with high-resolution TV relay broadcasting for a better watching experience.

National Gugak Center

The National Gugak Center (Formerly: National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts) is the governing body established to preserve and promote traditional Korean performing arts. It consists of three performance halls. First, the largest venue for traditional Korean performing arts is the Reservation Hall. The outward appearance of this theatre is based on Suwon Castle. The interior is built to accentuate all the features of the performing platform for traditional performing arts, and can accommodate every single type of traditional performing art, such as Palace Music, Court Music, and all other genres including major productions of Changguek (Korean musical drama). The structure of the stage and seats are reminiscent of a Korean yard.Long ago in Korea, traditional arts were performed in the yard. The audience was separated into an area in the shape of an earthen wall, and the ceiling had a shield/kite shaped emanating plate. The theatre gives the illusion of being in an ancient Korean household. On the 2nd floor of the Reservation Hall, there is a separate children's playground, which allows for quiet enjoyment of the music in the performance hall. Umyeondang (small hall) was designed to accommodate performances which were held outdoors. The performing space can be adjusted to fit the needs of the production.The National Gugak Center Outdoor Performance Stage is also called the "Star Welcoming Stage." You can watch many traditional performances that are usually held on traditional holidays. You can listen to traditional music, and if you want more information on the music try going to the Gugak Museum. Videos on Korea's traditional instruments and other Gugak related videos are always exhibited here. Also at the shop you can buy various Gugak related souvenirs. Having a Gugak CD or a cassette will be a great souvenir to remember the inspiration of Gugak for a long time. At the Front courtyard of the museum you can try to play traditional games and instruments from 10am to 5pm. You can play traditional games like neol ttwigi (seesaw jumping) or jegi chagi (Korean hacky sack) and try playing traditional instruments like the jing (gong), janggu (drum), kkwaenggwari (cymbal) and buk (drum).

Paldalmun Gate

Paldalmun Gate is the southern gate of Hwaseong Fortress, designated National Treasure No. 402. A crescent shaped 'ongseong' (defensive secondary wall to prevent the main gate from being broken down with logs) is built on the outside of the door. On the right wall of the gate is a nameplate which contains the names of the people involved in the construction of the gate. The Paldalmun Gate is unique in that it is detached from the rest of the gates, and located in the middle of the busy city. The reason for this is because commerce took roots around the gates before its reconstruction, making it impossible to build in that area.

Korea Airport Corporation,“the culture is out!”

I would like to introduce you to the "Culture Out" event that I got into at Gimhae airport a few days ago :) I was surprised at the rehearsal, but when I saw the actual performance, I was surprised by the culture. There was an electronic string "Raffine" performance.                 It was beautiful harmony of the electronic musical instrument with the string instrument. It is the second time that I have seen the event of “culture out”at Korea Airport Corporation. Actually, when I looked at the brochure, There are offering special continuous events for our customers not only at Gimhae airport but also at various airports !! I would have liked to see it when I was traveling to Japan a while ago. Next time I want to let foreign friends come to Korea and experience it ^ ^           At the airport there were many times when I was tired and bored waiting flight time, but there is no time to get bored cause of the various experiences and performances are offered from the Airport.     I think it will be a great gift for those who have gone on a trip or have come out! It was like a little concert that the audience applauded, followed up and enjoyed together. Also It was more fun because that both everyone could related from singing to singing. I have a special concert with electronic string which is all the audience could enjoy together. +_+            Many people took pictures and left the comments of performances today on their SNS ~ +_+  Today 's performance to be remembered by many people ~ It would be great to see "Culture Out" at other airports!     On the pamphlet, many fun experiences are managed for carrier curling, DIY eco bag, and making pouch at Gimhae International Airport. Besides, there are various kinds of experiences such as throwing darts, large jenga, stack junior at all of Airport in Korea! In addition, all these performances and experiences are free of charge! Do you even want to come to the airport when you get bored?       After the performance, I went to the backstage I was able to see children enjoying making pouches.   +_+           I also painted a picture of giraffe and made a pretty pouch. :) And a special experience that you can only enjoy at the airport! It's "carrier curling"! The waiting line was also really long, but it was the most popular experience.           It is a special game that utilizes carriers that are common in airports. I was a little shy when I came out alone because everyone with their friends and family doing all together, but I couldn’t wait to play it because I saw people pushing carriers and it seems very fun to me!. If you go inside the red circle, you will be given a lot of prizes too! So you definitely should try!         There was also good looking guide who from the event of the Korea Airport Corporation. Every time the children did it, you can see his kindness.  It is a play that everyone can enjoy!     Many people were enjoying carrier curling and making eco-back pouches. + _ + He said he was going to hold a various events this August, September, November and December In December, we will be enjoying prizes events and mime performances in the month of customer appreciation! Suwon Hwaseong Museum

Serving as a platform for the creation and distribution of performing arts projects focusing on Asia, ACC Performance seeks to establish itself as an international hub bridging Korea, Asia, and the rest of the world. It offers original performance programs that usher in the future of performing arts across multiple genres, special performance programs that provide cultural and art experiences for people of all ages, and invitational performance programs that expand cultural opportunities for citizens by featuring the most memorable and noteworthy performances.   Original Programs   The ACC creates new performance programs that defy genres. Theater 1 at ACC Theater is Korea’s largest variable “black box” theater. The theater is built for new types of performance that transcend the confines of conventional theaters, space and genres.
