Jumunjin Beach

Jumunjin Beach (주문진 해수욕장) is located in the northern-most part of Gangneung, and is a great place for family vacations due to the beach's shallow water. The flat bottom and clear water make it easy to gather clams and to fish at the nearby lake. You can also easily purchase low-priced, fresh seafood because of its proximity to Jumunjin Harbor. Jumunjin Beach is a medium-sized beach characterized by fine sand and unusually blue water. Many dark colored rocks and stones are visible as well, which are interesting sites for tourists visiting the beach. The fine view of pine trees behind the white sands only accentuates its beauty.Nearby is a place called Mureung Valley, named after its scenery of Mureungdowon, a Chinese landscape where you can see a waterfall flowing down a rock wall and cows grazing in the area. Nearby is a rock called Sikdangam, believed to have been used as a dining table, and Geumgang temple, which was rebuilt in 1964. Sites you don't want to miss are the legendary rock called Adeulbawi Rock (Son Rock), which people believe can grant you a son. Guryong Waterfall, which is made up of 9 different waterfalls of different sizes, and Sogeumgang’s Manmulsang, which looks like a miniature version of Mt. Geumgangsan.

Bukhansan National Park (Dobong)
Seoul(Gangbuk-gu) , The Eastern Part of the Seoul

Mt. Bukhansan is situated in the northern part of Seoul. Designated as a national park in 1983, the mountain is 78.45km wide and has 6 districts and extends out into Gyeonggi-do Province. The name Bukhansan means "big mountain in the north," and it is also called Mt. Samgaksan. Mt. Bukhansan has such smooth curves that the large granite rocks sometimes look as if they would slide down the mountain. The sharp peaks provide contrast to the dozens of valleys and rivers flowing below. The mountain has many different kinds of peaks but its main peak is Baegunbong. The granite peaks blend well with trees, and there are about 1,300 kinds of animals and plants living on the mountain. Among the granite peaks, the best known is Insubong Peak's Giam rocks. The world famous granite rock peak Insubong is over 200m above sea level, and there are about 100 mountain paths leading to the rock. When you stand on Baegundae and look down, sometimes you can see as far as Seoul City and the Hangang River. Bukhansan has a rich history as well. Silla's King Jinheung Sunsubi Monument on Bibong Peak, the Bukhansanseong Fortress built along the mountain's ridges, Sangunsa Temple built by the monk Won-Hyo, and numerous other temples occupy the mountain areas. Especially, Bukhansanseong Fortress is a must-see tour site if you are visiting the mountain. The fortress was built with a wall spanning about 8,500m, built specifically to stop foreign invasion. It is one of the representative mountain fortresses of the Joseon Era. In the fall, the view you can get from the fortress of the mountain is spectacular. Temples are also representative of rich culture that flourished on Bukhansan. The Seungasa Temple on the east Bibong Peak, with Maaeseokgayeoraejwasang (seated rock-carved Buddhas) carved into a 5m granite rock, and the Munsusa Temple located halfway up the Musubong Peak, with purified mountain water dropping from the ceiling of Munsugol Cave, are indicative of both Bukhansan's history and culture. With its granite peaks and Bukhansanseong Fortress, Bukhansan is perfect for hiking in all seasons. In the spring, all kinds of flowers bloom, and in the summer, lush forests carpet the numerous valleys. The hiking path along the valley is perhaps the best summer mountain climbing course. And the fall is the perfect time to visit the temples and pavilions in their autumn colors. In the winter, the snow-covered mountain scenery is very beautiful. The park averages 5 million visitors and has received the Honor of being in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the national park with the highest number of visitors per square foot.

Korea Airport Corporation,“the culture is out!”

I would like to introduce you to the "Culture Out" event that I got into at Gimhae airport a few days ago :) I was surprised at the rehearsal, but when I saw the actual performance, I was surprised by the culture. There was an electronic string "Raffine" performance.                 It was beautiful harmony of the electronic musical instrument with the string instrument. It is the second time that I have seen the event of “culture out”at Korea Airport Corporation. Actually, when I looked at the brochure, There are offering special continuous events for our customers not only at Gimhae airport but also at various airports !! I would have liked to see it when I was traveling to Japan a while ago. Next time I want to let foreign friends come to Korea and experience it ^ ^           At the airport there were many times when I was tired and bored waiting flight time, but there is no time to get bored cause of the various experiences and performances are offered from the Airport.     I think it will be a great gift for those who have gone on a trip or have come out! It was like a little concert that the audience applauded, followed up and enjoyed together. Also It was more fun because that both everyone could related from singing to singing. I have a special concert with electronic string which is all the audience could enjoy together. +_+            Many people took pictures and left the comments of performances today on their SNS ~ +_+  Today 's performance to be remembered by many people ~ It would be great to see "Culture Out" at other airports!     On the pamphlet, many fun experiences are managed for carrier curling, DIY eco bag, and making pouch at Gimhae International Airport. Besides, there are various kinds of experiences such as throwing darts, large jenga, stack junior at all of Airport in Korea! In addition, all these performances and experiences are free of charge! Do you even want to come to the airport when you get bored?       After the performance, I went to the backstage I was able to see children enjoying making pouches.   +_+           I also painted a picture of giraffe and made a pretty pouch. :) And a special experience that you can only enjoy at the airport! It's "carrier curling"! The waiting line was also really long, but it was the most popular experience.           It is a special game that utilizes carriers that are common in airports. I was a little shy when I came out alone because everyone with their friends and family doing all together, but I couldn’t wait to play it because I saw people pushing carriers and it seems very fun to me!. If you go inside the red circle, you will be given a lot of prizes too! So you definitely should try!         There was also good looking guide who from the event of the Korea Airport Corporation. Every time the children did it, you can see his kindness.  It is a play that everyone can enjoy!     Many people were enjoying carrier curling and making eco-back pouches. + _ + He said he was going to hold a various events this August, September, November and December In December, we will be enjoying prizes events and mime performances in the month of customer appreciation! Geomun Oreum [UNESCO World Heritage]

Geomum Oreum, with an altitude of 456m, is located in Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si and refers to a parasitic volcano (also called Oreum in Jeju dialect).Geomun Oreum was created by volcanic activities between 100,000 and 300,000 years ago. Lava flow from the crater went along the coastal slope to the Northeast and formed a unique geographical feature called Seonheulgot. The lave flow also formed Bengdwigul Cave on the left side, and Manjanggul, Gimnyeonggul, Yongcheondonggul and Dangcheomuldonggul Caves on the right side. Each of these caves has its own unique features.Upon entering Geomun Oreum, visitors are met by a dense forest filled with Japanese cedar trees. Further along, visitors will see a deciduous broad-leaved forest, shrubbery, and an evergreen broad-leaved forest. Not only featuring various types of forests, Geomun Oreum is also a breeding place for local birds such as Brown-Eared Bulbul, Korean Bush Warbler, Varied Tit, Streptopelia Orientalis, White-Backed Woodpecker and migratory birds such as Fairy Pitta and Tricolor Flycatcher.After it was designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, many visitors has come to enjoy the area's trekking course and the ecological exploring area.Excluding Tuesdays, the trails are open from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM in 30 minute intervals. Yongpyong Resort

Yongpyong Resort, located on the ridge of Mt.Balwangsan, is the first domestic ski resort opening in 1975. With average 250cm of snow each year you can enjoy skiing from November until April of the following year. Compared to other ski resorts, ski season is considerably longer. It is 215km from Seoul, and with the construction of a 4-lane highway, the travel time has been shortened to 2 hours. When ski season finishes, you can enjoy golf from April to November as well.This is where the 1998 World Cup Ski Competition and the 1999 Gangwon Winter Asian Games were held. The Rainbow Red*Silver*Gold slopes have been authorized by the International Ski Federation (ISF). Also there are slopes for beginners such as the Yellow Run and the Pink Run, and the new Red Run and Green Run for intermediates. There are 18 slopes and 15 lifts in total, with a 3.7km long gondola which can accommodate 8 people at once. There are other convenient indoor facilities such as the swimming pool and sauna, and within the complex there is a sledding hill, indoor golf course with a capacity of 6 holes, survival game park and the indoor mountain bike path. There are also the forest bath walk, archery, crocket, tennis courts and the campsites.For accommodation there are hotels, condos, youth hostels which add up to 1,087 rooms available in total.
