Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Icheon-dong, Andong
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

Maaekseobulsang (Rock-carved Standing Buddha in Icheon-dong, Andong) is a huge statue. This Buddhist image’s head stands 2.43 meters tall, while the entire statue stretches 12.38 meters high. These days, Jebiwan Temple has been built near the statue, so it has been dubbed “Jebiwan Seokbul.”The body of the large stone Buddha face has been carved into the rock. The statue is in the style of Koryeo (AD 918-1392) Dynasty, with distinctive contouring. This unique style is indicative of those prevalent during the 11th Century.

The Agricultural Exhibition Hall provides a childrens' interactive experience about the value of farming, and the Onsaemiro Maze Park offers a history trip of Ganghwa greenhouses along the labyrinth. Other facilities include the Pottery Experience Hall, Ganghwa Agricultural Goods Sales Office, outdoor lawn square for events and picnics, and a processing plant for agricultural and indigenous products including mugwort.Armiae World is located at the foot of Hyeolgusan Mountain, which is well-known for beautiful azalea flowers in the spring. Providing hands-on experiences in farming, Armiae World is emerging as a unique tourist attraction of Ganghwado Island.

Dadohaehaesang National Park
Jeollanam-do(Wando-gun)

From the seashore of Yeosu to Hongdo Island, Heuksando Island, Geomundo Island and Baekdo Island out west, Dadohaehaesang National Park covers about 1,700 small and large islands and various rocks. In the park, the blue sky and the ocean blend well with white sandy beaches, adding to the picturesque atmosphere.During the Silla period, the King of the Sea, Jang Bogo established the maritime world and during the Goryeo Dynasty, the area was a trading path with the Yuan and Song Dynasties. Also, it was the battlefield where Admiral Yi Sun-shin defeated the invading Japanese navy. Likewise, historical sites remains in many places.Among those islands, Hongdo Island and Heuksando Island are famous for tourists. In particular, one of Korea’s greatest fishery grounds is located in Heuksando Island.

Sinpung Sincheon Bada Mokjang (Seaside Ranch) (신풍 신천 바다목장)

Jungsangangil Road stretches 14 km, and has a calm ambience. Old stone walls and dense trees line either side of the road. The road also leads to Seaside Ranch road (Bada Mokjang-gil (livestock ranch) which is open to pedestrians. The road is a unique location on Jeju, with expansive green fields located next to the ocean. * 'Olle' means an extremely cramped alley coming to the main gate of a home from street in the Jeju Island Dialect.

Jeungdo Ujeon Beach

Ujeon Beach stretches 4 km in length on the southwestern coast of the island of Jeungdo-myeon, the biggest natural salt producer in Korea. The silvery white sand as well as the view of the sealine dotted with over 90 deserted islands make Ujeon Beach one of the most attractive seaside destinations. Visitors to Jeungdo Island can explore the sites of salt production and Haetae (a type of seaweed) farming, or go fising at nearby islands, including Naegaldo and Oegaldo Island, Myeongdeokseom Island, Daeseom Island, Bunamdo Island and Myeongseom Island.

Seonyudong Gyegok Valley
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Mungyeong-si)

Seonyudong Gyegok Valley in Mungyeong is longer and more beautiful than the valley of the same name in Goesan. Mount Daeyasan (931 meters high) runs across both valleys, which are 10 kilometers apart from each other. The valley is relatively untouched as it is not yet well known by the public. At the beginning and the end of the trail are Hakcheonjeong and Chirujeong pavilions, respectively. Both sides of the valley are lined with thick forests of ancient pine trees. A number of stone carvings can be found in the forest, and the most famous one reads “Seonyu Gyegok (Seonyu Valley).” It was written by Choi Chi-won (857~?), a leading scholar of the Silla Kingdom.

Eunhasa Temple

Eunhasa Temple is located in Shineosan Mountain in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do Province. Legend has it that monk Jangyuhwasang built the temple after studying Buddhism in India. Despite being relatively small in size, the temple has a long history and it is also a place where many monks stayed to study during the Shilla and Goryeo times. The temple is also well-known as a filming location of the Korean movie “Dalmaya Nolja (Let's Play, Dharma).”

Tongdo Fantasia

Tongdo Fantasia (통도 환타지아) is located in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, which shares borders with Milyang, Ulsan and Busan. This makes the amusement park very accessible by any means of transportation. Tongdo Fantasia operates Tongdo Country Club as well, and nearby Tongdosa Temple (통도사) is also available for visitors who want to look around the local historic sites.
