Jeongdong Theater is Korea's premier cultural venue for traditional performing arts, and is a restoration of Wongaksa, the first modern Korean theater. The theater has prepared and showcased high-quality traditional performing arts all over the world though their original productions "Miso" and "YOULL." In 2017, Jeongdong Theater has planned a variety of traditional performances including pansori, a musical storytelling tradition inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, live bands made up of nine traditional instruments, and fan dancing.

A fierce battle for power is fought among the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu, from which the warlord Cao Cao emerges as victor. Prior to this, the three heroes Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei take an oath of fraternity in a peach garden, swearing to die together. After that, they seek out Zhuge Liang to consult him on matters of strategy. After the men make three visits, Zhuge Liang finally agrees and joins them as strategist.

Meanwhile, Zhou Yu is preparing to attack Cao Cao with fire but it is unsuccessful because of the northeasterly wind. Zhuge Liang visits Zhou Yu and tells him that he will perform rituals to summon the southeast wind, and sure enough, the southeast wind begins blowing with a roll of thunder and a gale. Unsettled by Zhuge Liang’s power and the threat it may pose to Wu, Zhou Yu commands his men to kill him. Xu Sheng and Ding Feng chase after Zhuge Liang, but Zhao Yun, who was escorting Zhuge Liang, shoots an arrow, and instantly, calm is restored.

Taken aback, Zhou Yu and his allies change their plans and decide to attack Cao Cao first. They finally succeed in the fire attack, and Cao Cao’s fleet is destroyed. Cao Cao issues a general order of retreat to regroup his few remaining forces. Utterly defeated, he and his men wail for the homes they left behind.

While Cao Cao and his men make their retreat, Guan Yu lies in ambush waiting for Cao Cao. But when he confronts Cao Cao, who begs for his life, Guan Yu is reminded of their past dealings, and after much agonizing, he decides to let Cao Cao go. Zhuge Liang attempts to punish Guan Yu for failing to execute his mission, but Liu Bei and Zhang Fei, invoking the Oath of the Peach Garden, insist that they too be killed. Moved by their loyalty, Zhuge Liang charges them to work together to establish justice. Marveling at such fierce fidelity and the strength of the Oath of the Peach Garden, all of the soldiers get up and dance the dance of the Red Cliffs in a demonstration of renewed zeal and allegiance.
