Gyeonggi-do(Paju-si)

Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

'Suaedang Traditional House was built by Ryu Jin-geol, also known by his pen-name of Suae, in 1939. This hanok-style house consists of three buildings that measure 29-kan (a traditional measurement that corresponds to the space between two columns) in total. The main room, or jeongchim (7-kan at front and 2-kan at sides), has a half-hipped roof, and forms a‘ㄱ’-shape with the storeroom (10-kan at front), which also has a half-hipped roof. Originally located at 612 Sugok-dong, Andong-si, the house was relocated from a slight slope to a flat piece of land due to the construction of Imha Dam in 1987. Consequently, the Jeongchim was rebuilt at a lower level than before. The Suaedang was renovated by modernizing the old-style facilities including the kitchen, toilets, and washroom without changing their external features, while the rooms and daecheongmaru (main floored room) were decorated with red clay and natural paint. Suaedang, with its beautiful panoramic view of the lake, was designated as Gyeongsangbuk-do Cultural Property No. 56.


Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Jeong Gwan Ru is the only accommodation on Nami Island, a popular tourist attraction in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province. Seoul Olympic Parktel is a popular school excursion site where visitors can immerse in the history and culture of the Olympic Games at the Olympic Park, Olympic Museum, Olympic Museum of Art, Olympic Sculpture Park and the gymnasiums. The hostel has also held numerous training programs for domestic as well as foreign youths.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

This hanok was built by Ryu Jin-geol, also known by his pen name Suae, in 1939. It is located beside the head household of the Sugok Clan who were part of the Jeonju Ryu family. When you enter the lofty, 5-kan*-high gate, you will find 3 buildings that measure 29 kans in total. Suaedang House has a gabled-roof, and is composed of a 7-by-2-kan residential area, and a 10-kan shed, which are situated together in a ㄱ-shape. The hanok was used as an ancestral memorial hall, and later designated as the 56th Cultural Relic of Gyeongsangbuk-do. It has been well preserved, as it was built with sturdy pine usually found in the Chunyang region. The patterns on the lattice doors have peculiar shapes, and the house as a whole faithfully embodies the architectural technique of the late Joseon Dynasty. Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)
