Jeollanam-do(Wando-gun)

Byulgung is a hanok pension complex facing the sea at the northeastern edge of the Taean Peninsula in Chungcheongnam-do. The long row of tiled roofs of the hanok house that has 12 guest rooms looks like a royal palace or a filming site of Korean dramas. Byulgung is a traditional hanok built in the old way by building frames such as rafters, pillars, girders, beams, and floors, and then making walls, roofs, and floors inside the house with a mixture of red clay and straw. The owner built the hanok house using Korean red pine from Bonghwa-gun to highlight the beauty of hanok architecture. You can really feel a master craftsmanship in every part of the house, including the double eaves, lofty gate and pillars. Designed with the beauty of traditional hanok architecture in mind, the accommodation also provides convenience with private bathrooms inside the guest rooms. As the hanok house was newly built in 2018, all facilities are clean and pleasant. A wide-open grass lawn greets guests past the front gate, revealing a sightly scene of hanok architecture and a pine grove in the background. As soon as you step inside, you will feel like you are traveling back in time to the Joseon dynasty. There are three guest rooms available at Pungsongjae. Pungsil and Sarangbang are ideal for two people, but the accommodation accepts bookings for a family of four or less. Songsil is a cute little room that is ideal for couples. Pungsil is equipped with an induction stove, a microwave, a rice cooker, an electric kettle and tableware, so the guest can cook inside the room. Cooking is not allowed inside Songsil and Sarangbang. The most noticeable place in Pungsongjae is the quaint attic-like numaru space. The name Pungsongjae was inspired by the space as a house with a spectacular view of a lush pine grove. As Roomin Bukchon is located in a residential area, it is a perfect place for travelers looking for a quiet place to stay and tourists who want to experience life in hanok. Guests can enjoy the entire building to themselves, including the kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. The 20-square-meter room is cozy enough for two guests. Each guest room has a bathroom where you can shower comfortably. The bedding provided in the guest rooms is Korean-style premium bedding that is kept clean and fresh. Although there are no cooking facilities inside the guest rooms, there is a water purifier, a microwave, and coffee and tea on the veranda in front of the guest rooms that anyone can use. In Chwirakwon, there are rooms for two, three, five, and group guests. There is a total of 11 guest rooms. Although it is a hanok house, each room has an en suite bathroom with shower facilities for greater convenience. There is a total of three guest rooms for two people. These guest rooms are studios and do not come with a kitchen. There are two four-guest rooms. The Naedeurimbang room has a bathroom as well as a self-contained kitchen where you can cook. In comparison, the Sachaebang room does not have a kitchen. There are two five-guest rooms. The Ochaebang room has two rooms while the Yukchaebang room is a studio without a kitchen. There are three eight-guest rooms, which have slightly different interior designs. Woenangsori is a separate hanok house that has two bed rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The Chilchaebang room has two rooms and the Dadeuraegibang room has three rooms. Both rooms have kitchens where you can cook. The Anchaebang room, which is the largest private hanok house in Chwirakwon is large enough to accommodate 13 guests. It has two bathrooms, two bed rooms, an attic, and a self-contained kitchen fully equipped with kitchen appliances. All of the guest rooms have basic amenities such as a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and a hair dryer. In addition, you can dine at restaurants in Pilbong Culture Village with prior reservation. The guesthouse also rents barbecue grills. Pilbong Culture Village is full of things to see and enjoy. There are Pilbong Cultural Center, Pilbong Small Library, Daedonggwan (an indoor performance stage), Gutsandae (an outdoor performance stage), Pungryumadang, and Hanokmadang.
