Gongjicheon Sculpture Park
Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Originally named Gongji Park, the park is located near Gongjicheon and has been decorated with sculptures since 1997. Twenty-nine pieces are displayed and a water clock was installed in 2001. Gongjicheon Resort is located nearby the park with an outdoor stage and fountain. Water sports such as boat-riding can be enjoyed on the lake. The lake and the fountain are great locations to enjoy spending time with family and friends. Every year diverse cultural art events such as the Spring Art Performance as well as the Soyangjae Chuncheon Poetry Recital takes place in the park and Gongjicheon. A Children’s Center and War Memorial are also located nearby.

Seoraksan National Park
Gangwon-do(Yangyang-gun)

Seoraksan Mountain, the highest amid the Taebaeksanmaek Moutain Range, boasts beautiful landscape and scenery all year round. To the east of Hangyeryeong and Misiryeong Ridges is classified as Oeseorak, to the west is Naeseorak; the Osaek District in the southern region of the Hangyeryeong Ridge is also known as Namseorak. The Namseorak area is famous for its mineral water, hot springs, and waterfalls including Yongso Falls, Sibi Falls, and Yeosin Falls. Jeongbongsan Mountain (1,424.2m) is also included in the area. There are also several different hiking courses varying in distance and duration.

Yangyang International Airport

Yangyang International Airport, located in Dongho-ri, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, is the only international airport in the Yeongdong region. The airport excellently serves as the arrival point for tourists to Korea’s representative attractions of Gangwon, Seoraksan Mountain and Donghae. The airport provides much information in regards to tourism in the Yeongdong region in addition to offering a tourism transportation service.As there are no mountains nearby and the strong winds from the ocean blow away any fog, Yangyang International Airport serves as a substitute airport for nearby Sokcho Airport, which has a 30% cancellation rate, and Gangneung Airport, which has a limited runway. The airport is equipped with a control tower, and the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) is planning on building a North-South direction passage, connecting Yangyang International Airport with Seondeok Airport in the Hamgyeongnam-do region of North Korea in accordance with the North-South Passage Protocol of 1997.

Daegwallyeong Recreational Forest

Daegwallyeong Recreational Forest, known as Korea’s famous pine tree forest, is full of pine trees that are about 17m in x_height and 36cm in circumference. It was designated as a suitable resting place to enjoy as it’s harmoniously situated in a valley surrounded by lush vegetation. There are comfortable lodging accommodations, and convenient facilities on the premises. Many family and couple visitors come here for the verdant scenery that includes a wild flower garden, yellow earth thatched cottage, a water mill, and a charcoal iron pot site. Rates at the Forest House range from 32,000 won to 110,000won depending on the size and the forest cultural recreation center ranges from 50,000won to 98,000won.

Wellihillipark Snow Park

Wellihillipark is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Seoul in a region that often experiences heavy snow, thus making great skiing conditions. The 6.5 million square meters Wellihillipark offers state-of-the-art facilities including gondolas that are able to transport 20,000 skiers per hour, and an automatic snow-making system. The resort has all the latest ski facilities, including an intermediate level wave course and mogul course, and an enormous half-pipe and fun park for snowboarders. Alpensia Ocean 700

Situated in north of the river in Chuncheon and also known as 'The City of Lakes', Gangwon-do Provincial Flower Garden is a gift of nature with its wonderful harmony of lakes and mountains. Gangwon-do Provincial Flower Garden was formed with intention to create and display Gangwon-do's local flower as well as to preserve nature, distribute and experiment. Gangwon-do's local flower exhibition and arboretum lasted from February 1996 to October 1998. It was opened to the public on May 20, 1999 where it has been used as nature observation for kids as well as a place to relax.Main facilities include Gangwon-do Forest Park, Gangwon-do Flower Museum, forest-product shop, information center and octagonal pavilion warehouse for farming utensils. Korea Traditional Food Culture Experience Center

The Traditional Korean Food Experience Center is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and developing Korean food culture by offering a number of experience programs on traditional Korean food. Visitors can also lodge at a hanok (traditional Korean house) for a little bit of lifestyle experience.
