The Marina Motel is just 15minutes’ walk from the Busan Port Passenger Terminal and 5 minutes’ walk from Juangang Station on Busan Metro Line 1. It's also within a short ride from a number of popular tourist attractions in Jung-gu, Busan, such as Yongdusan Park, 40-Step Stairway, and Bosu-dong Book Street, while Jagalchi Market, Gukje Market, Gwangbokdong Food Street, Changseon-dong Food Street, and Arirang Street are about 1.5km away. The motel is indeed conveniently located for traveling and shopping. The motel has 35 guestrooms on the 6th, 7th, and 8th floors (each with a floor space of 826㎡) of the Marine Fare Building. There are not many guestrooms, but their size compensates for the small number. Guestrooms are available in various sizes for both individual and group tourists as well as business travellers. Some of the guestrooms are floor-heated for those who prefer to sleep on the floor instead of a bed. The guestrooms facing the ocean offer a wonderful view of the port.

Seorak Special Tourist Zone

Seorak Special Tourist Zone is a vast zone included in 3 administrative districts, encompassing the entirety of Seoraksan Mountain. In this zone, visitors have various ways to enjoy Seoraksan Mountain and the natural environment of the East Sea region. Sokcho, which occupies the largest area in the zone, comes first when talking about Seoraksan National Park. Tourists can appreciate the picturesque scenery of the sea and coastal lakes as well as the mountain scenery of Seoraksan Mountain. Hikers can climb the mountain or ride a cable car. Sokcho beach is a hot spot that attracts young people who fill the place with energy and life all through the summer. Abai Village, which appeared in several TV dramas for its unique atmosphere, and Sokcho Jungang Market offer local specialties, such as abai sundae (Korean sausage) and dak-gangjeong (fried chicken nuggets coated in a sweet and sour sauce). Goseong, which is bordered by Seoraksan Mountain and Geumgangsan Mountain, is part of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) that offers a unpolluted, beautiful landscape around the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Hwajinpo Beach near Hwajinpo Lake, which is a lagoon, and Songjiho Beach near Songjiho Lake are the best places to spend a peaceful vacation. At Hwajinpo Lake, tourists can visit the summer houses used by the first South Korean President Lee Seung-man and the former North Korean leader Kim Il-seong before the division of the Korean Peninsula. Lastly, although it is a relatively small part of Seorak Special Tourist Zone, Yangyang has resources for mountain tourism and maritime culture, such as Seoraksan National Park and Naksan Provincial Park. Naksan Beach, Naksansa Temple and Hajodae are popular tourist sites. Chuncheonho Lake
Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Chuncheongo Lake is a man-made lake at the foot of Chuncheon Dam on the upper region of the Bukhan River. The area’s beautiful landscape and its easy accessibility make it a popular tourist destination and weekend getaway spot for Seoulites. The road along the top of the dam acts as a connecting expressway between Chuncheon and Hwacheon. The road continues past Uiam Lake, a fantastic fishing spot great for family visitors. Maeuntanggol (street of chili fish stew shops), formed around the Dam, is famous throughout Korea, offering the nation’s best chili fish stew, made from fresh catfish and mandarin fish. The Chuncheon Dam was built in Feb. 1965, blocking the flow of water from the Bukhan River into Paro Lake. The water level is not very consistent in Paroho Lake and fish may sometimes be scarce because of the lake’s narrow entry point. The area still attracts a large number of people because of its superb scenery and easy accessibility.

Marine Park
Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si)

Located Hwasun-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Marine Park is the first national whale experience site with 2 above-ground floors and 1 basement level. It is comprised of a 3D photo zone on the first basement level, an indoor dolphin experience site on the first floor, and children’s aquarium that exhibits 100 species of fish local to the Jeju region on the second floor. Activity programs include feeding dolphins, experiencing being a dolphin trainer, dolphin swimming and snorkeling, diving with dolphins and prenatal education with dolphins. Marine Park participates in ocean animal transportation, as well as rescue and leading trainer business.

Naju Geumseonggwan Hall
Jeollanam-do(Naju-si)

Naju Geumseonggwan Hall was a state-run guesthouse for government officials during the Joseon period. It was the venue for ceremonial praise rituals for the king, taking place on the first and 15th of each month, as well as banquets held in honor of visiting dignitaries. The building was constructed sometime between 1475 and 1479. The building was remodeled during the Japanese occupation, but was restored to its original design in 1977. It is currently registered as Jeollanam-do Important Cultural Heritage No. 2. There are a number of other cultural heritages located in the nearby vicinity.

Laila Cafe

Laila Cafe, operated by a Moroccan woman and her husband, serves authentic Moroccan and French teas. The cafe features the best equipment for serving these teas true to their origins. The cafe was invited to operate a Moroccan Tea booth at the 2017 Hadong International Tea Festival, as well as at the 2017 BEXCO Tea Culture Special Hall. In addition to teas, Laila Cafe also serves traditional desserts and dishes from Morocco and France, using flour and chocolate from France and other European countries.

The Royal Room is a hanok (traditional Korean house) hotel encapsulating Jeonju’s spirit as a city of tradition and art, and the exemplar of the state of Joseon. The hanok buildings are built next to one another on a plot spanning 19,840 m2 in Daeseong-dong, inspired by the unique elegance and understated extravagance of Joseon’s royal culture. 11 residential buildings are all named after the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Taejonggwan is one of them, containing six rooms in total. Each room is a self-contained unit made up of bedrooms and restrooms, furnished with a combination of hanok’s unique charms and modern comfort. The view of the wooden exposed beams, paintings on the wall, and the view of nature beyond the window wall recreate the unique scenery of the hanok. All rooms are also equipped with modern comforts such as wireless Internet, TV, refrigerator, and air conditioning. The hotel has about 150 parking spots, a hanok cafe, and theConvention Center with spaces designed for large meetings and events. Samtaegeuk and Samjogo Restaurants are designated as COVID-19 Safe Restaurants by the city of Jeonju. The hotel is located about 7 min by car to Jeonju Hanok Village, and is close to other famous sights such as Jeondong Catholic Cathedral, Gyeonggijeon Shrine, and Jeonjuhyanggyo Local Confucian School, which make ideal half-day trip destinations.

21th DongGang International Photo Festival 2023  The Magical Unknowns We cordially invite you to submit your creative work to the prestigious 21st DongGang International Photo Festival, taking place from July 21st to September 24th, 2023, in the picturesque Yeongwol, Korea. ▲ DongGang International Photo Festival 2022 Curiosity, the desire to explore the unknown, is an inherent human need. The unknown may encompass not only what is completely unfamiliar but also what is presently disregarded or avoided. Often, uncharted territories have had the most profound impact on human history, whether previously unknown, unimagined, or simply neglected. The unknown need not be solely enigmatic or sacred. Whatever it may be, it holds its own irreplaceable magic. Those who are receptive to the unknown have the privilege of unlocking its mysteries and experiencing its wonder. Venturing into the unknown can be an extremely liberating and world-changing experience. What stories and secrets do the countless mysteries of the world hold? How will these magnificent narratives unfold? The sheer thrill of the hidden secrets and magic within the seemingly mundane and trivial can be utterly exhilarating! Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply; individuals should submit between 8 - 12 photographs from a particular series or body of work.
