Incheon Open Port Museum

The Incheon Open Port Museum is a cultural and historical landmark located in a late Renaissance-style stone building that originally housed the Japanese 1st Bank's Incheon Branch, built in 1899. Exhibitions The museum consists of four permanent exhibition halls, each focusing on a different aspect of Incheon’s development: * Hall 1 – Introduction to the opening of Incheon Port and its role in modernization * Hall 2 – Changes in Incheon’s urban landscape, featuring historical photographs and architectural models * Hall 3 – Development of transportation, communication, and infrastructure that contributed to Incheon's growth * Hall 4 – Daily life in Incheon during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with artifacts and interactive displays Visitors can explore a range of historical materials, including old maps, documents, and objects that illustrate Incheon's transformation into a modern city. Visitor Information * Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Last admission at 5:30 PM) * Closed: Mondays, New Year's Day, Seollal (Lunar New Year), and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day). If a public holiday falls on a Monday, the museum will be closed the following Tuesday. Around 70 wood sculptures chosen from national craft competitions (held from 2008 to 2010) decorate the park grounds, which measure an impressive 27,930㎡. The park contains a year-round sled park and a bamboo forest and affords a magnificent view of the East Sea.

Seongmodo Island
Incheon(Ganghwa-gun)

Seongmodo Island (석모도) is located to the west of Ganghwado Island (강화도). Beautiful West Sea, a drive by the shore, and the great scenic view are some of the features of island's highlights. To get to Seongmodo Island, simply take a ferry at Oepo-ri, which takes only 10 minutes. The seagulls that congregate over the sea, fly close to the ferry boat and provide a beautiful sight.  When you arrive at Seongmodo Island, there is a bus terminal and a bicycle rental shop. If you are planning to hike around the island, rent a bicycle. You can tour around Seongmodo Island on a bicycle, by car, or simply by walking. If you want to go to Bomunsa Temple or Minmeoru Beach, ride the bus bound for Bomunsa Temple. If you want to hike or drive, you can visit most places by going along Ilju Road. It will take only 40 minutes by car, and about 2 hours and 30 minutes by bicycle to look around the island.  The most interesting sites in Seongmodo Island are Minmeoru Beach (민머루해수욕장) and Bomunsa Temple. Minmeoru Beach is the only beach in Seongmodo Island; Its shores are elegant and the surrounding scenery is beautiful with a salt farm near the beach. Bomunsa Temple boasts great views of the West Sea and is famous for its sunsets and a Buddhist grotto that was built inside a natural cave. To the rear of Bomunsa Temple, the Nunseop Rock and the Ma-aeseokbuljwa statue engraved on a rock is also worth a look. Telephone  +82-32-930-3563, +82-32-932-6007

Seomjingang Train village rail pension - Goodstay

Suwon station

Suwon Station first started out as a non-express train station on January 1, 1905. Subsequently on December 31, 1975, a subway station was added. The station is on Seoul Subway Line 1 and Gyeongbu Railroad, on which Samaeul Train and Mugunghwa Train operate. On January 1, 1996, they closed down Suin Line and the Narrow Gauge Train Station was no longer in operation. In February 2003, a privately-funded station was established. A KTX train operating on Gyeongbu Line from Seoul to Daejeon began to include Suwon Station as a stop on November 1, 2010.

Gongju National Museum
Chungcheongnam-do(Gongju-si)

Gongju National Museum manages and preserves the cultural treasures excavated from northern Chungcheongnam-do. It takes special care of cultural treasures discovered at the Muryeong Royal Tomb in 1971. The Muryeong Royal Tomb is the tomb of King Muryeong (501-523) from the Baekje Period, and his queen consort. You can view most of the relics from the tomb at the museum. The current buildings were specifically built to exhibit these relics. Gongju Museum has excavated many other relics and sites. he exhibit hall constitutes of 2 parts. It exhibits over 1000 relics, including National Treasure No.19 and No.4. The first room of the 2nd floor displays the relics from the Muryeong tomb. It is quite a treat to view the golden belt, bracelet and bronze mirrors. There is even a full-scale model of the Muryeong tomb for you to view.The 2nd room of the first floor displays the relics from the Chungcheongnam-do area chronologically. Outside, in front of the main building, is a garden you can visit after viewing the inside of the museum, and you can see many relics which were excavated from the entire Gongju district. An eye-catching sight is the two large stone bowls, used long ago to store water. Between the relics, there are dozens of golden pine, pine and cherry trees, which are over 70 years old. It is an ideal place for visitors to rest. If you are looking for souvenirs, there is a souvenir shop where you will find many cute souvenirs.
