Nangye Korean Traditional Music Experience Center

Nangye Korean Traditional Music Experience Center was established to celebrate the musical talents of Nangye Park Yeon and preserve it. Furthermore, the center contributes to making Yeongdong the origin of gukak (Korean music), featuring a hub of gukak (Korean music) as well as world-famous traditional culture. Near the experience center, Nangye Korean Classical Music Museum, Nangyesa Shrine, and Nangye Gukak Instrument Production Village are situated to further experience the spirit and soul of Park Yeon. Nangye Korean Traditional Music Experience Center offers opportunities to play musical instrument as much as visitors want. Also, professional lecturers who majored in gukak (Korean music) work in the center to assist visitors in handling Korean musical instruments such as gayageum (Korean twelve-stringed zither), geomungo (Korean six-stringed musical instrument), janggu (double-headed drum with a narrow waist in the middle), haegeum (traditional Korean stringed instrument), and buk (drum).

After you finish shaping the mud clay, your work is completed by being baked in a traditional Korean pottery kiln. You can create your personal painting using the various dyeing materials. In the Hand-made Paper Room you can make paper with mulberry.Try making a card or a frame with the hand-made paper. It will be a nice present for friends and family. At the Batangol theater you can watch various genres of performances, from musicals to concerts. After seeing the artwork at the gallery, you can head to the cafe. It is a refreshing space where you can have a cup of tea while enjoying Mother Nature outside the window. The soothing scenery will x_heighten your taste buds and make the tea all the more refreshing. If you want to grab a bite before you leave Batangol, you can go to the Korean traditional restaurant, "Waegajip Bapsang." They have traditional dishes and snacks such as ramyeon and tteokbokki. There are more restaurants near the entrance of the Arts Center.

Bogwangsa Temple

Bogwangsa Temple is a traditional temple located on Goryeongsan Mountain in Paju-si. It was built by the great monk Doseonguksa during the Silla Kingdom under the order of Queen Jinseong in the eight year of her reign (AD 894). Bogwangsa Temple offers a temple stay program through which participants can learn about temple etiquette and experience temple life. Activities include attending Buddhist services, participating in prayers of repentance, engaging in Zen meditation, and eating temple meals and learning about the temple tea ceremony. The temple is set against a naturally scenic site and the sounds of the water flowing in the valley mixed with the Buddhist chants result in a calmness difficult to find anywhere else!

Jindo Miracle Sea Road Festival
Jeollanam-do(Jindo-gun)

Once a year at Jindo Island in Jeollanam-do, the sea mysteriously parts and visitors can walk through the sea from the main island to a smaller nearby island. This phenomenon is due to the difference between high and low tides, creating a 2.8-kilometer-long road measuring 40 meters in x_width.The Jindo Miracle Sea Road Festival takes place at the same time as this phenomenon. Visitors can enjoy walking along the sea road, gathering abalone and various other fun activities that make up the festival program. The spectacular sight of the waves parting is widely known and about half a million visitors flock from all over the world just to witness this amazing event.

Muju Firefly Festival

Aerospace Museum
Gyeongsangnam-do(Sacheon-si)

Sacheon’s Aerospace Museum (항공우주박물관) opened in August 2002. Outdoor exhibits include 13 kinds of aircraft used by the Korean Air Force since the Korean War, five retired aircrafts donated by the American Forces, and two armored vehicles and three cannons used by the land forces. The indoor collection includes over 1,000 items such as wartime photos, battle gear, artifacts from fallen soldiers, and other wartime memorabilia. The museum’s collection also includes the soviet-made ZIS-110 limousine that former North Korean leader Ilseong Kim used during the Korean War, 18 aircrafts such as T-6 (Geonguk), and F-86 fighter jets, and T-34 armored vehicles primarily used by the North Korean army during the war. In this museum, built as a symbol of Sacheon’s rise to the nation’s aerospace hub, visitors can learn more about the aerospace industry and aircrafts.

Bukchon Music Festival

Bukchon Music Festival aims to showcase various contemporary music genres including world music, jazz, classic, and indie music, centered on Korean traditional music in the area of Bukchon in Seoul. The festival is a music festival carrying out varied artistic attempts to break the barrier between traditional and contemporary art. About 20 artistic teams from different genres will play their love songs along the streets of Bukchon, so passersby can enjoy listening to the music for free if they like the song. Paroho Lake

Paroho Lake (파로호) is a manmade lake created when Hwacheon Dam was built in the valley of the Bukhangang River (북한강). The lake is capable of holding up to one billion tons of water and the Dam of Peace is located further upstream. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt Il and Wolmyeongbong Peak as well as the thick forest and pristine valleys in the surrounding area.
