The festival also features various fun activities such as the apricot flower photo contest, black pig show and goose show.

Danjong Culture Festival
Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun)

The Danjong Culture Festival, a major festival of Yeongwol-gun in Gangwon-do, is scheduled to be held for three days from April 25 to 27, 2014 around the Jangneung Tomb area. The festival is a historic cultural event held annually since 1967 in memory of King Danjong (the 6th monarch of the Joseon Dynasty) and his loyal subjects. It was originally called Danjongje and was renamed to Danjong Culture Festival in 1990. In the beginning, it was held for three days starting on the day before Hansik Day, which is April 5 by the Gregorian calendar, except in leap years (the 105th day after Dongji). Since this date changes every year, it was later decided that the festival should be held from the last Friday of April instead.

12 Distinguished Hyeonpung Gwaks’ Shrine
Daegu(Dalseong-gun)

Designated as Daegu’s Cultural Property No. 29 on May 12, 1995, this shrine was built in the mid-Joseon period, during King Yeongjo's rule. The shrine holds 12 Jeongnyeo (monumental gates) awarded to the members of the Gwak Clan, built from the time of King Seonjo in 1598 to the time of King Yeongjo. It is an important and unique shrine because the Gwak Clan attained their 12 Jeongnyeo all in one village, which is quite uncommon. During the Joseon Dynasty, Jeongnyeo were awarded to honor loyal retainers, devoted sons, and exemplary husbands and wife.

Asan-si Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone

Asan-si Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone includes Dogo, Asan and Onyang Hot Springs. When Onyangoncheon Station on Seoul subway line No.1 opened in December, 2008, the number of tourists who traveled here increased. It is said that Onyang Hot Springs is 1300 years old, which means that it dates back to the Three Kingdoms Period. During the period of the Joseon Dynasty, it was the rulers’ favorite spot for treatment and recuperation. Onyang Hot Springs has alkaline water and boasts high water quality and a large volume. Beef, pork, kimchi, shellfish, and other seafood are mostly used. If one of these ingredients, such as squid, dominates the jeon, the name will reflect that; ojing'eo jeon (오징어전) is 'squid jeon.
