Bangjukpo Beach
Jeollanam-do(Yeosu-si)

Nestled in the East coast of Dolsando Island (돌산도), the tranquil waters on this resort have mild waves that lap up on the shiny golden sand along the beach. Nearby there is a thick pine grove where some of the trees are 200 years old. This area is blessed with plenty of fresh inland water despite it being on the coast. The myriad of rocks near the sea are great for fishing. The beach is a popular spot to watch the sunrise. It is also situated on the way to Hyangiram Hermitage, one of Korea’s four hermitages where Buddhist followers come to pray.

Nangye Hall of Korean Classical Music
Chungcheongbuk-do(Yeongdong-gun)

'Nangye Hall of Korean Classical Music' opened in 1987 in Yeongdong (Chungcheongbuk-do). The 2-story building has 496 seats and a performance hall, exhibition center, powder room, projection booth and sound box. The center holds over 50 cultural events annually including the ‘Yeongdong Nangye Gugak Festival’ and is visited by traditional music enthusiasts. The area is also home to Yeongdong’s dried persimmon production and promotes the local specialty through a number of diverse interactive programs at the center. These programs include playing Korean traditional musical instruments and a hands-on experience with dried persimmon fruit.

Seonyudong Valley
Gyeongsangnam-do(Sancheong-gun)

Seonyudong(선유동, 仙遊洞) means the place where fairies come down from heaven to play.It has been said that fairies would often come down to the valley to make liquor and store them in flagons. There are some leftover depressions in the boulders which demonstrate there may be some truth to the legend.Near Seonyudong Valley, they say that the bamboos and pine trees stay green all year long and wood nymphs fly down to play with each other under the Suweol Waterfall at the Suweol Village.

Birthplace of Yeongnang
Jeollanam-do(Gangjin-gun)

Kim Yun-sik was born on this site on January 16, 1903 as the first-born of two sons and three daughters. Under the pen name Yeongnang, he was active in literature until his death on September 29, 1950. Among the 80 poems he published, more than 60 were written in this place where he lived a life resisting Japanese imperialism and refusing to change his name to a Japanese name. After he moved to Seoul in 1948, his birthplace was resold several times, but the county of Gangjin-gun bought it in 1985 to restore it to its original state with a thatched-roof. The site features many of the poet’s writing materials and the site has a small well, camellia trees, jangdokdae (a platform where large clay pots used for storing food are kept), persimmon trees, and a peony garden.

Suanbo Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone
Chungcheongbuk-do(Chungju-si)

Suanbo Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone is a time-honored hot springs resort in Korea. Known as the first naturally yielding hot springs that started to flow 30,000 years ago, its effect is also widely recognized. Gushing out from 100 m underground, its water is weak alkaline in nature, and the temperature is 53℃. What's more, the water contains minerals and far-infrared effect. This is why a large number of people flock to the hot springs for treatment and recuperation. Currently, it is under the jurisdiction of Chungju-si City. At the center of Suanbo Hot Springs is Multang Park, with a shallow hot spring water stream, which is used as a foot bath. For those who are not able to take a bath, a foot bath is a good option. The foot bath is especially popular from autumn to spring. Most visitors to Suanbo Hot Springs stay at a hotel or motel in the area. The restaurants here serve pheasant dishes, the local specialty. Suanbo Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone is adjacent to the national road that spans from downtown Chungju-si City to Mungyeong. Sitting in the heart of the Korean Peninsula, it is easy to access from Seoul and other provincial cities. Apart from the hot springs, there is a lot to see in this area, such as Woraksan Mountain, Chungjuho Lake and Songgye Valley. Sinheungni Beach

Sinheungni Beach is on the far side of Cheongsanhang Harbor on Cheongsando Island. The gently sloping beach stretches for a distance of 2km (during low tide) and has a large mudflat filled with clams. Sinheungni Beach is a popular summer vacation spot for families who come for camping and auto camping. The forest of ancient pine trees at the edge of the beach not only serves as a windbreak, but also provides visitors with a cool shelter from the summer heat.

Located to the left of the entrance to Kwandong University, Nogwon Galbi is a restaurant specializing in galbi (grilled beef ribs). The three-story restaurant building has a spacious parking lot and dining halls large enough to accommodate customers in groups. The restaurant serves Korean beef raised in Yangyang, accompanied by seven tasty side dishes. All the food in this restaurant is seasoned with fresh sesame oil extracted from sesame produced at local farms.
