Seodong Park (est. 2004) is a sculpture park spanning the Donggodo-ri and Sinyong-ri areas in Geumma-myeon, Iksan-si. The park covers an impressive 132,000 square meters and features approximately 68 works by famous Korean sculptors. Also located within the park limits are an observatory, rest areas, fishing grounds, walking trails, and the Mahan Exhibition Hall displaying artifacts from the Mahan Era.

Yeongjong Grand Bridge
Incheon(Seo-gu) , Incheon Center

Yeongjongdaegyo Bridge connects the mainland of Incheon with Yeongjongdo Island that is home to the Incheon International Airport. Until the construction of this bridge, the only way to get to and from Yeongjongdo Island had been by boat. The 4.4 kilometer-long Yeongjong Bridge is the world’s first 3-dimensional self-anchored suspension bridge. The bridge carries both highways and rail lines on its decks, and 10,000-ton ships can pass under the bridge. The bridge was designed to withstand strong winds and earthquake.It is the first bridge in Korea to have been completed through private capital inducement project. In addition to its function as a bridge, it is also an architectural beauty as the shape of the cable and the girder was designed to symbolize the eaves of the traditional Korean tile-roofed house. In 2002, Yeongjongdaegyo Bridge won the Tanaka Award by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers for the first time in Korea.

Huijeongdang Hall (희정당)
Seoul(Jongno-gu) , Insadong・Jongnon

Located inside Changdeokgung Palace, Huijeongdang Hall is a one-storey structure built in ikgong style (bird wing-shaped eaves placed on top of the pillars) with a hip tiled gable roof. It has 11 kans in the front and 4 kans to the sides (kan: a traditional unit of measurement referring to the space between two columns that is roughly 6 to 8 feet). During the latter period of the Joseon Dynasty, the hall was used as the king’s workplace. It is situated right in front of the palace’s residential hall called Daejojeon Hall. Originally built upon the foundation of Changdeokgung Palace, Huijeongdang Hall was destroyed by multiple fires during the battles of the Imjin War (Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592). It was rebuilt in 1834 but was burnt down again in 1917. The current structure is the one reconstructed in 1920. The frequent destruction and restoration of the hall account for the many changes that occurred in terms of the size and purpose of the building. The 9 kans in the front and 3 kans on the sides have been decorated into a living room with a Korean-style reception room on the left and a western-style reception room on the right. The rest of the building was used as hallways and other small rooms such as bathroom and cubicles. The hall's interior is decorated with foreign-made furniture as a result of the western influences at the time. The electricity installed in and outside the rooms is a change that took place during the last phase of the Korean empire. The original structure, however, had been strictly constructed according to the original palace building standards.

The park is becoming a popular place to bring a date, as there are many fine restaurants, and cafes that offer live performances. The park once served as the hosting ground for boat and canoe races during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. The large park boasts a lake with surrounding bike trails and hiking paths. The park’s greenery, various sports and leisure facilities, and great atmosphere make it a great place for activities or relaxation.The park houses the following facilities: soccer field, foot volleyball field, jogging course, walking path, bicycle path, drinking fountain, children's nature education site, snack bar, etc.The park was open to the public free of charge in May 1995, widely used as a venue for reunions or weddings, school excursions, picnic, outdoor activities, sports festivals, club functions, as well as a filming location. Conveniently located near Olympic-daero and Jungbu expressways, the park is very accessible and also has a large parking lot.

Baengnokdam Lake

Baengnokdam is a crater lake that sits on top of Hallasan Mountain at the center of Jeju Island. It spans 3㎞ in circumference and 500m in diameter, and is surrounded by over 300 parasitic cones. Baengnokdam is accessible from Seongpanak and Gwanemsa trails, which offer fantastic views of Jeju-do.

Naesosa Temple

Naesosa Temple was built by Buddhist Monk Hye-Gu in 633 AD during the Baekje Dynasty and was rebuilt by Monk Cheong-Min in 1633 during the Joseon Dynasty. The Daeungbojeon (the main hall) was built at this time. In 1986, the temple area (radius of 500m) was named a culturally protected area.On both sides of the main gate (600m across) are large fir trees, which also line the path into the temple. As you continue down the walkway, you’ll come across a row of cherry trees. Just before the temple itself, are four gods called Sacheonwangsang that “guard” the temple. Upon reaching the temple itself (just past the guards) the first thing you’ll notice is the 1000-year-old Dangsan tree. Long ago, people used the base of the tree as a site of prayer.Housed in Beomjonggak is a bronze bell that can be found in many Buddhist Temples. This particular bell was made during the Goryeo Era and is engraved with three images of Buddha, called “Samjonsang.” The center building of the temple, called “Daeungbojeon” is also an artistic masterpiece, decorated with splendid colors and designs. The flower Salmun doors featuring lotus and Chrysanthemum flowers add another element of traditional beauty to the building.Of all the temple treasures, Haewuso (meaning “a place that gets rid of worrries”) is not to be missed. True to its name, you’ll almost find yourself forgetting all your worries as you listen to the soft swaying of the surrounding bamboo grove.

Jinhae NFRDI Environment Eco-Park (Inland Water Eco Park) is part of the land of the Nambu Inland Water Research Center and lies on an area measuring 83,897 square meters. This environmentally-friendly park boasts a splendid natural landscape with over 65 different species of trees (sheepberry, willow, boxwood, cherry blossom trees, etc.) and an abundance of flowers (golden reed, hosta, water canna, irises, etc.). The park is open to the public and is a favorite retreat for residents of the area.

Dokkebi Park
Jeju-do(Jeju-si) , The Eastern Part of the Jeju Island

Dokkebi Park (도깨비 공원) is a fun place, filled with huge dokkebi (Korean goblins) characters made from steel and all kinds of materials. As well as big statues, there are many smaller dokkebi themed items found throughout the park that have been placed by creative dokkebi artists. Some of these are made from broken household items, such as shovels, stoves, and brooms, as well as old pine trees or basalt rocks. Dokkebi Park has some 2,300 items that resemble dokkebi, which have been made personally by professional designers over the last seven years. You can also let your imagination run wild and make your own dokkebi at Dokkebi Park.Performances and events with a dokkebi theme also take at the park. Visitors will enjoy the dancing and singing dokkebis, along with other fun-filled events and activity programs. At night the park becomes an exciting wonderland, with light displays creating stars and other fun effects. Catchy music creates a festive mood in this Korean goblin fantasy world.Activity programs include making dokkebi themed masks and candles (In general, these programs are available year-round, but may be subject to change based on circumstances.)
