Incheon(Ongjin-gun)

As evident from its name, the hotel promises a comfortable stay in a hanok. The hotel complex stands on a plot of land spanning 19,840 m2, containing 11 residential buildings and other facilities. Each residential building is named after the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Gojonggwan, named after King Gojong, contains six rooms. The rooms are divided into Gold and Silver Rooms, and are classified into Grade 2, Grade 3, and Grade 5 rooms, all including bathrooms and restrooms in addition to bedrooms. The rooms are furnished to offer the unique aesthetics of hanok in modern comforts. The view of the wooden exposed beams (Gold Room), wooden furniture, and the sunlight from the window wall offer an insight into the beauty of Korea’s traditional residence. All rooms are also equipped with modern comforts such as wireless Internet, TV, refrigerator, and air conditioning. Rebuilt in 1638 (the 16th year of King Injo), Gwanghallu Pavilion is one of the Joseon Dynasty’s most exemplary structures. The pavilion was constructed in 1419 by Hwang Hui, a noted prime minister in the early Joseon Dynasty, during his exile to Namwon. The name of the pavilion at that time was Gwangtongnu. In 1434, while the pavilion was undergoing reconstruction, scholar and politician Jeong In-ji called it Gwanghallu after Gwanghancheongheobu, the mythical palace on the moon. It is one of the top four pavilions, the others being Yeongnamnu Pavilion (Miryang), Chokseongnu Pavilion (Jinju), and Bubyeoknu (Jinju). Designated as Treasure No. 281, the pavilion is one of four major pavilions known for excellent craftsmanship, along with Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, Chokseongnu Pavilion and Bubyeongnu Pavilion. Gwanghalluwon Garden, which consists of Gwanghallu Pavilion, a pond, Bangjangjeon Pavilion, and Yeongjugak Pavilion form Historic Site No. 33.

Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Guesthouse Nuha is a ‘hanok’ or traditional Korean house consisting of four guestrooms located in Nuha-dong, Seochon (west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jongno, Seoul) where many Confucian scholars and artists lived during the Joseon Dynasty. Exuding a refined atmosphere, Guesthouse Nuha is very popular among not only domestic visitors but also foreign tourists who want to experience the flavor of Korea in a cozy hanok. All four guestrooms (An-bang, Sarang-bang, Geul-bang, and Byeol-dang) are covered with eco-friendly hanji (traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry tree) wallpaper, and are equipped with a thick cotton-wool comforter and pillows imbued with the scent of Hinoki cypress tree to help guests relieve their fatigue. Breakfast is served free of charge. Guests can also experience traditional Korean culture here, such as playing a Korean musical instrument (janggu or double-headed drum), playing a game of yut in the yard, or wearing hanbok (traditional Korean clothes). Although a local bus service passes through the village, it is highly recommended to take a quiet leisurely around the area.


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

Coogee Holiday is a newly built private pool villa pension located between mandarin fields near Cape Seopjikoji, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do. The pension provides the entire facilities including five guest rooms and an outdoor swimming pool to one team at a time. You can enjoy true privacy here. There are five types of guest rooms in Coogee Holiday. Coogee A Type uses the entire two-story building of Coogee Holiday (250 m2). There is an ondol room and a bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor, there is a bedroom with two queen beds, and two bedrooms with a queen bed and a super single bed each, a living room, and three bathrooms. The basic rate is for eight people, but can accommodate up to 14 guests. Coogee B Type is using the entire second floor of the building. The basic rate is for six guests, but up to seven people can stay. Coogee C Type and Coogee D Type are using a part of the second floor. Coogee E Type is using the entire space on the first floor. A different number of guests can stay depending on the space you book. Inside the guest rooms, there is a shelf full of comic books, PlayStation, a VR console, a washing machine, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The pension also has a variety of facilities that guests can use. Breakfast is served in a cafe-style 80-square-meter space. There is an outdoor swimming pool with supplies such as children’s life vests, water guns, ands swimming tubes. A mini heated pool for young children is also available with an additional fee. A barbecue area and karaoke machines are also available. In the morning, the pension serves breakfast such as seaweed soup, dried pollack soup, toast and salad (the menu changes everyday). You can also participate in a mandarin picking program in the farm owned by the pension, or go fishing on a boat that belongs to the pension. Tourist spots near the pension include Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, Honinji Pond, Ilchulland, Cape Seopjikoji, Seongeup Historic Village, and Pyoseon Beach.
