Seoul(Jung-gu) , Dongdaemun

Jangchung Gymnasium is Korea’s first domed gymnasium and opened Februrary 1st, 1963. The gym holds diverse athletic events such as basketball, volleyball and handball competitions as well as boxing, wrestling, weight-lifting and ssireum (Korean traditional wrestling). The gym also presents other cultural performances and events including international competitions, concerts and madangnori. The Jangchung Fitness Club, is also located within the facility and offers monthly memberships.


Seoul(Seongdong-gu)

Running through the central part of the Korean Peninsula, the Hangang River flows from Gangwon-do towards Chungcheongbuk-do, Gyeonggi-do, through Seoul and continues on to the Yellow Sea. The river has witnessed the history of the Korean people for over five thousand years, through good and bad times. The riverside parks offer a nice retreat for the citizens of Seoul. The Namhangang River (South Hangang River), which is the main source, originates from Taebaek-si in Gangwon-do. The water runs north through Goljicheon Stream in Samcheok-si and then passes through Gwangdong Dam before flowing into Songcheon Stream. Songcheon Stream starts from Hwangbyeongsan Mountain (1,407 meters) in Jeongseon-gun and flows into Joyanggang River. After joining Odaecheon Stream, it flows south into Donggang River, which in turn flows into Seogang River. Then after joining Dalcheon Stream in Chungju-si, Seomgang River and Cheongmicheon Stream, the river combines with the branch streams of Yanghwacheon, Bokhacheon, and Heukcheon before it finally joins Bukhangang River (North Hangang River) in Yangsu-ri.


Seoul(Gangnam-gu) , Gangnam・Samseongdong(COEX)

The owner of Pho'na Thai personally visited Ho Chi Minh City after falling in love with Vietnamese Pho, and began working at a restaurant there. In his spare time, he would visit popular restaurants in the area and noted the unique taste of each dish, then he opened his own restaurant, here in Korea. The pho of Ho Chi Minh City has been internationalized, and the most popular restaurant, Phobo, has stopped stressing the traditional taste of the olden days and now makes refreshingly spicy pho, to fit the tastes of its customers. Pho'na Thai has also followed in Phobo's footsteps, developing a refreshing taste that Korean's love. Every summer, the owner makes a trip to Vietnam to fix any imperfections in the taste of the noodles and to develop new menu items, furthering the restaurant's popularity. (All ingredients are directly imported from Vietnam).


Seoul(Gangnam-gu) , Gangnam・Samseongdong(COEX)

Korean World Travel Fair, Korea’s longest and most reliable travel fair, will take place. The fair aims to actively communicate new tour ideas, tour items, and tourism information from nearly 500 participating companies from 60 different nations. As part of the fair, various events including the promotion of tour items and destinations, exhibitions of tourism souvenirs, tourism seminars and world folk performances will take place.


Seoul(Nowon-gu)

Situated in Gongneung-dong, Jeil Bean Restaurant has specialized in bean dishes for over 25 years. Using high-quality beans produced in Hongcheon (Gangwon-do), fresh beans are ground at the restaurant using millstones. There are a number of delicious dishes on the menu at Jeil Bean, from bean stew to dishes using tofu. Particularly popular is the cold bean noodles with rich broth that is a beloved summer dish among Koreans.


Seoul(Gangnam-gu) , Gangnam・Samseongdong(COEX)

“Pro Ganjang Gejang” is a restaurant serving soy sauce marinated crab (ganjang gejang). This restaurant opened in 1980 as the first ganjang gejang restaurant in Korea. Since its opening in Sinsa-dong, it has grown in popularity not only among Koreans, but also among foreign visitors. It opened branches in Samseong-dong in Seoul, Haeundae in Busan, and in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan.  


Seoul(Jung-gu)

Opened in 1953 by a woman known as Mabongnim, the restaurant takes pride in its 50-plus years of service. As Mabongnim gained popularity, other similar establishments opened nearby, and eventually, formed the now famous “Teokbokki Street.” The elderly proprietor is well known, even starring in a red-pepper paste (gochujang) ad in the 1990's.The secret of this restaurant’s tteokbokki lies in the fact that red pepper paste is mixed with Chinese soybean paste for a sweet and spicy taste, but has now been adopted by other Sindangdong restaurants. Nevertheless, there is something special about this restaurant’s fare. At present, Mabongnim’s daughters-in-law are running the restaurant.


Seoul(Jongno-gu) , Insadong・Jongnon

Changdeokgung Theater is located across from Changdeokgung Palace in the Gungangno Special Cultural Zone of Seoul. Sogeukjans, meaning small theater, provide a unique and intimate atmosphere. Built to promote Korean music, the stage and seating at Changdeokgung are arranged for audience members to sit on the floor similar to in a traditional restaurant or home. The theater offers a wide array of performances including Samulnori (Korean traditional percussion music), traditional Korean music, and Madanggeuk (a play infused with traditional music and performances). First time visitors often find the creative and cozy experience to create a lasting memory of Korean culture and arts. Also nearby the theater are a number of tourist attractions including Changdeokgung Palace, Unhyeongung Palace, Jongmyo Shrine Park, and Insa-dong. 


Seoul(Jung-gu) , Myeongdong

Bonsushi is an 'Edomae Sushi' specialty restaurant, serving the elegant tastes of Tokyo to businessmen at affordable prices, with menu sets starting at 10,000 won. In order to serve dishes at affordable prices, fresh fish, shellfish, and 15 other dishes, including the hard-to-come-by 'Okonomi' are constantly in rotation at this sushi restaurant.
