Located in Dongdaemun-gu Seoul (the largest distribution market of herbal medicine in Korea), the museum is situated on the grounds of Bojewon, a medical institution that was in operation during the Joseon Dynasty. The Seoul Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Museum was established with the goal of preserving and developing Korea’s herb medicine culture. It has on display oriental relics and samples of medicinal herbs.Opened on September 13, 2006, the museum boasts a wide assortment of items: 500 pieces of equipment used by practitioners of herbal medicine, 420 artifacts related to the field of oriental medicine, and about 350 herbal medicinal items.A large number of antique books related to herbal medicine are also on exhibit at the museum, helping visitors unfamiliar to the practice gain an overall understanding of what effect each herb or technique has and how each is used when treating patients.In addition, the museum also houses a model of the Bojewon from the Joseon Dynasty, an oriental medicine experience zone, a multi-purpose auditorium, a rest area, and museum shop.

The Museum of Photography, Seoul is the first museum created by the Hanmi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd and is located on the 20F of the Hanmi Pharmaceutical Headquarters, overlooking the Olympic Park. The Museum of Photography, Seoul holds 6-7 planned exhibits a year and holds cultural art education projects and other activities to foster creativity and support the arts. The Children’s Museum is a hands-on experience museum run by the National Folk Museum of Korea. A variety of visual aids and assembly models allow children to touch and feel pieces and experience folk history in an interactive way. The theme of the exhibition consists of folk clothing, food, shelter, social life, and entertainment. The museum has a number of interactive spaces including a table set for an ancestral ritual, magnet miniatures depicting a baby’s first birthday, and an area where young visitors can build a folk house. Young learners can also create an avatar clad in Hanbok, make Kimchi using visual aids, or play Gonu (a traditional board game). The museum also collects, preserves, and maintains relics and historical items related to youth and youth culture.

Gassra (est. 2000) is a Japanese restaurant in Myeongdong that turns into a Japanese Izakaya at night, giving customers a chance to enjoy fresh sashimi, meat dishes, and sake. Though the lunch menu consists only of Hiraekatsu (tenderloin cutlet), Donkatsu (pork cutlet), and Koroke, there is usually a long line that reaches all the way out the door.One of Gassra’s claims to fame is that it is one of the only places in Korea that serves Wolgyegwan refined rice wine. Gassra is also praised as one of the best places to get a little taste of Japan in Korea. Some even say that the udon and noodles served here are better than many found in Japan, which also helps explain the extreme popularity of the restaurant.A main specialty of the restaurant (particularly at lunch) is its fried pork cutlet. Though fried pork cutlets are typically considered to be fairly greasy, the Japanese Hiraekatsu and Koroke served at the restaurant have a clean aftertaste and are paired with a mouth-watering soup and salad.
