Jamjindo Island

Located in Jung-gu, Incheon, Jamjindo Island is a small island connected with Yeongjongdo Island. A newly opened road from the mainland to the island makes access to Jamjindo much more convenient. Its sunset views of mud flats dyed fantastic shades of red by the setting sun attract many visitors to take pictures and to dig out clams at low tide. There are also crowds of visitors waiting to take the short (just 5 minute) ferry ride to Muuido Island (famous for connecting to Silmido Island) at the ferry dock in Jamjindo Island. Visitors should check out the schedule of the ferry in advance as the ferry may not run to Muuido Island at low tide. Eurwangni Beach, Hanagae Beach, and Deokgyo Beach are easily accessible to the island.

Naju Image Theme Park
Jeollanam-do(Naju-si)

Naju Image Theme Park is a place where many scenes of Buyeo Kingdom, including Buyeogung Palace, an ironware factory and the downtown area, were filmed for ‘Jumong,’ which is a hit drama that was recently televised. Built on a 450,000-pyeong site, the large-scale set cost over 18 billion won to create and was also used to film Taewangsasingi (Legend). A scene featuring Dam-deok as a child, where he visits an old lady at a natural dye plant and tries his hand at dyeing, and a scene where a soldier-like Dam-deok rides a horse through a vast field were filmed here.It is a well-known fact that actors, actresses and crew who were filming in Jeju would make a five-hour boat trip to Naju to shoot here. During filming, Japanese fans came to Naju to observe from a distance.

Horse racing has become a unique attraction in Jeju Island, also referred to as the Hawaii of Asia. The Korean Horse Affairs Association dedicated 2 years and 6 months to complete the construction of Jeju Racecourse, which opened on October 28, 1990 and became a popular local attraction since then. It is the only horse race game in the world that uses Jeju Island’s native ponies, Jejuma, as race horses, providing exotic and unique entertainment for the audience. The race takes place at the mid-slope of Hallasan Mountain that offers scenic views of its magnificent mountain slopes in the background. The summer night race with its silver-gray light from the light tower and the nearby artificial waterfall provides a romantic and enthusiastic atmosphere enough to chase away the summer heat. * Establishment Purpose – To protect and breed Jeju Island’s native horses, Jejuma (designated as the Natural Monument No. 347) and in result make a contribution to the local community by promoting Jeju Island tourism and livestock production industry. * Jejuma – Jejuma, name given to the native horses of Jeju Island, is a symbol of Jeju Island. Jejumas are bred in the wild with minimum human contact. They also represent the people of Jeju Island as Jejumas are known for their great adaptive nature and strong perseverance compared to their size. Jejumas are designated as the Natural Monument No. 347 as their number has drastically decreased due to the development of transportation and farming equipments.

Baekje History & Culture Museum

Located in Baekje Cultural Land (Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do), the museum shows the history and culture of the Baekje Period (18 BC- 660 AD). Consisting of three floors (B1F-2F), the museum offers a Regular Exhibition Hall (divided into four areas by time period), a Special Exhibition Hall, a Bakje Experience Hall, Archives Room, a 3D Theater, and an Auditorium. Equipped with diverse exhibition and education facilities, the museum displays reconstructed miniatures of relics, photos, and videos rather than real relics related to the Bakje Period, which help visitors understand the splendor of the period. Amnam Park

The magnificent cliffs and tree-lined seaside views of Amnam Park bring the harmony of the bluish-green waters and the forested landscape together. Made into a protected area, entrance was not permitted until its opening to the public in 1996, when visitors could first experience the untouched landscape. In the park one can fish, visit an observatory, and enjoy the walking path and elevated bridge. There is a famous road from Songdo Beach to Amnam Park that is popular for leisurely drives. This drive is about 5 minutes, but for those who want to walk it’s about 20 minutes.
