Seoul(Seocho-gu)

SIDance was created by Seoul Section of the International Dance Council CID UNESCO in 1998 as a proper channel for introducing Korean dance to international stages as well as worldwide trends to the local dance scene. Korean dance had experienced a severe lack of international exchanges, but that has been surmounted, to a certain degree, since the formation of the Seoul Section of the International Dance Council CID-UNESCO in 1996.SIDance stands out among its various activities to promote Korean dance. SIDance, led by LEE, Jong-Ho, the artistic director, has since grown into a dance festival at the international level, marking its 18th anniversary in 2015. SIDance is closely working together with governmental bodies including Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Korea Foundation, and Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture as well as embassies and official organizations abroad. SIDance has been also elected as a member of AAPAF (Association of Asian Performing Arts Festivals), being recognized of its active engagement with international exchanging activities in the performing arts scene of Asia. SIDance has recently reached its highest point to collaborate a number of joint projects with prominent festivals including Singapore Arts Festival, Festival Montpellier Danse and Festival Internacional Cervantino. SIDance has invested significant efforts in cultural exchange, collaboration, and co-productions in the field of dance, representing the dance scene in Korea to the international stage. 


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Uljin-gun)

The Deokgu Spaworld, located in Uljin-gun, has naturally flowing hot springs water of the finest quality. There are also many sights to see in the area including Eungbongsan Mountain, Deokgu Valley, the Hyeongje Falls, Okryudae, Seonnyeotang, and more.The Deokgu Hot Springs were first discovered around 600 years ago, and are known to be beneficial for people with neuralgia, rheumatism, muscle aches, and skin disorders.The Deokgu Hot Springs are a great getaway for the entire family. Not only can you enjoy bathing in the hot springs water, but there are plenty of plants and animals to see at the nearby mountains and valleys. The hot springs resort has been continuously upgraded since 1983.


Jeollanam-do(Gangjin-gun)

Daegu-myeon of Gangjin-gun was the primary site of Goryeo Dynasty celadon production between the 9th and the 14th centuries. Covering approximately 150 acres of land in nine villages, the area has been designated as the National Historical Site No. 68 since 1963, and continues to protect its 180 fire kilns and maintain the sophisticated art of celadon production. Meanwhile, celadons produced in this area have also been designated as national treasure, and regarded highly worldwide for their artistic value, so much so that some are preserved in the Louvre Museum in France.


Gangwon-do(Hwacheon-gun)

The Hwacheon Tomato Festival is held annually for consecutive four days, an extension from the usual three-days event held previously, based on opinions of tourists and residents. This festival will be held in Sanae-myeon in Hawcheon-gun. Starting off with an opening ceremony, followed by pungmulnori (traditional percussion music & dance), singing contest, unique exciting events and various hands-on programs.


Seoul(Dongdaemun-gu) , Dongdaemun

The Herb Medicine Festival has been held every fall since 1995 in Yangnyeongsi (약령시), the largest herbal medicine marketplace in Seoul. The festival celebrates the history and effectiveness of the nation's traditional herb medicine and raises international interest in Seoul’s Yangnyeongsi market.During the festival, a wide variety of events will be held, including activity programs such as an herb slicing contest and writing, cooking, and singing contests. Other highlights on the festival calendar include traditional performances and a taekwondo demonstration. Visitors can also enjoy free herbal tea, food, and rice cakes and will be able to buy a variety of herbs at low prices.Perhaps the most anticipated events of the festival are the free herbal medical diagnoses and treatments, which are on offer for Korean and international visitors. This is a good opportunity for you to check your body condition and experience the benefits of oriental medicine.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Danyang-gun)

Legend has it that a dragon ascended to the sky from Darian Valley. Darian Valley is named as such because of the scenic sight of falls under a bridge. Originating in Biro Peak, Sobaeksan Mountain, water flows into Darian Valley, Cheongdong, Geumgok, and Gosu Donggul Cave.Pure, cold water whirls around odd-shaped rocks in the valley, surrounded by lush trees. This makes the valley one of the most popular spots during the summer. The Darian Tourist Area, centered in the valley, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors thanks to abounding scenic views. Excellent amenities include huts, campgrounds, cookout spots, and clay massaging paths, making the area ideal for family visitors and hikers.Nearby attractions include the Cheondong Tourist Area (including auto campgrounds, golf facilities, and water parks), hiking paths to Sobaeksan Mountain, Dodam Sambong and Seokmun (rainbow-shaped stone column) forming one of the Eight Scenic Sights of Danyang, three caves (Gosu, Nodong, and Cheondong), Ondal Drama Studio, and Soseonam Resort Forest. Abundant attractions make Dangyang a favorite tourist destination among visitors. 


Chungcheongnam-do(Seocheon-gun)

Chunjangdae Beach (춘장대해수욕장) in Seo-myeon, Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do is a smooth, calm beach with 2km-long, 200m-wide sand beaches. This beach is surrounded by thick acacia and pine groves. Unlike ordinary beaches on the West Sea, this beach is very picturesque. Enjoying the company of nearby tourist attractions such as the Busa Sea Wall, Hongwon Port, the Camellia Grove in Maryang-ri and the Geumgang Riverbank Tourist Spot, Chunjangdae Beach is popular as a summer vacation destination. At low tide, visitors can catch shellfish and flatfish in the tidal plain or even walk across to nearby islands. During the busy season, the Chunjangdae Vacation Train is temporarily available. Come to Chunjangdae Beach from Seoul via train to view the breathtaking coastal scenery. A walk along the beach with the backdrop of a spectacular sunset is an unforgettable romantic experience.


Chungcheongnam-do(Boryeong-si)

Daecheon is located along the westcoast of Chungcheongnam-do. Daecheon ("dae" means big and "cheon" means stream) was so called because of the large amount of water from the region that flows into the nearby sea. Daecheon is home to Daecheon Beach, the only shell-powder sand beach in Asia. It is also known for cosmetics made from the beach mud, fresh seafood, and tourist attractions such as Wonsando Island Beach, the Coal Museum, and Seongjusaji Temple Site. The station moved to its current location on December 21, 2007. The building's sailboat-shaped structure is symbolic of the region's history and reputation.


Gyeonggi-do(Bucheon-si) , Bucheon

Reflected by the outstanding performance of Korean archers at recent Olympic games, Koreans have an esteemed reputation for their skills in archery and craftsmanship. But this undoubted skill has historical precedent, as bows were an important weapon of war throughout Korean history. The Bucheon Bow Museum (부천 활박물관) was established to show visitors the spirit of the Korean archery, and demonstrate its ancestral traditions of bowyer craftsmanship. The museum houses traditional bows (gukgung, 국궁), which are considered, prized cultural pieces, and have been made by a Bucheon family, which has fostered a lineage of bowyers across five generations for over than 160 years. In addition, the museum exhibits various pieces and articles such as gukgung, arrows, and other military technologies.  


Gangwon-do(Hoengseong-gun)

Every year, Hanu (Korean native cattle) Festival takes places in Hoengseong County, where the climate and the environment are said to be perfect for raising cattle. The festival attracts a large number of people, who come to try the usually expensive Hoengseong hanu beef at affordable prices, along with another specialty of Hoengseong County, deodeok (mountain bellflower). In addition to food sampling, the festival holds diverse agriculture experience programs, while offering access to nearby attractions such as Hoengseong Hot Springs and Jucheongang River Natural Forest Lodge.
