Nanji Island Beach
Chungcheongnam-do(Dangjin-si)

Nanji Island Beach (난지섬해수욕장) in Dangjin-gun, Chungcheongnam-do has 700m-long, 50m-wide soft white sand beaches. The water is shallow, clean and warm (20-23 °C), and a pine grove nearly 3,306m² wide surrounds the beach. Nanji Island Beach offers various convenience facilities such as campsites, showers, drinking fountains and bathrooms. The rocky coast in the northwest is a great spot for catching popular fish, such as rock cod and spotty belly greenling. By taking a boat, visitors can enjoy scenic ocean views as they pass beautiful islands, such as Yeongheungdo, Palmido, Seonjaedo, Gukhwado, Yukdo and Pungdo.

Paroho Lake

Paroho Lake (파로호) is a manmade lake created when Hwacheon Dam was built in the valley of the Bukhangang River (북한강). Seosan Haemieupseong Fortress Festival
Chungcheongnam-do(Seosan-si)

The Haemieupseong Fortress in Seosan City is the most intact fortress in Korea. Built around 600 years ago during the Joseon period, the fortress is a historically significant site where both the commander-in-chief of Chungcheong-do Province and the great Admiral Yi Sun-shin had once served. It is also a sacred ground of martyrs as nearly 1,000 Roman Catholics were executed in 1866. In modern times, the fortress served as the backdrop for the turbulent Donghak Peasants Revolution (1894) and Catholic Persecution.The Seosan Haemieupseong Festival offers a variety of exciting programs with a theme of the traditional Korean market. This includes diverse cultural performances such as tightrope walking, folk music, traditional orchestral music, and outdoor theatricals. Visitors to the festival will also have a chance to experience hands-on activities like traditional crafts, folk games, and drawing performances.

Ttangkkeut Songho Beach

Situated at the southernmost part of the Korean peninsula, Ttangkkeut Songho Beach is the most representative beach in Haeum, featuring dense old pine trees, fine sand, and shallow water perfect for a family vacation spot. Hundreds of pine trees create a scenic forest almost 1km long along the levee which provides a suitable camping site under the forest. Ttangkkeut-gil walking path connects the front of an auto camping site at Songho Beach to Galsan Village and Ttangkkeut Top. The Windbreak pine tree forest in Songho-ri, Haenam is designated as Jeollanam-do’s Monument No. 142, including around 600 pine trees aged 200 years and playing a role in the coastal shelterbelt.

Suwolbong Peak and Chagwi Beach

Located at the western end of Jejudo Island, Suwolbong, a small mountaintop, is famous for being a favorite sunset viewing place. The mountain has vertical cliffs spreading out like a scroll painting, created from the sea waves gradually cutting inland. From this pavilion, you can see all of the West Sea.To the north, off the coast, is the Chagwido (sometimes called Jukdo) Island, where only the top peak area has grass growing, and the rest of the island is made up of dark hyeonmuam rocks and cliffs. Chagwido is famous as a fishing place, and in January, March, June, and December, people come here to fish. Around sunset, Chagwido’s seashore turns crimson red from the sun and is truly an awesome sight to behold.

Jeonju Jageun Munhwa Festival

The Jeonju National Museum hosts the Jageun Munhwa Festival to celebrate Seollal, Lunar New Year's Day, and Daeboreum, the day of the first full moon of the year. The museum prepares various cultural events and seasonal traditional games in order to give visitors an opportunity to participate in traditional cultural events and customs. Before the festival, there are diverse Korean folk games like jegichagi (Korean hacky sack), kite-fyling, a top-spinning game, and yutnori. During the Seollal holiday, visitors can enjoy movies, making an official hat of gilt bronze, and sharing ddeokguk (rice-cake soup). Also, a wide range of hands-on programs will be offered like making folk crafts, writing a family motto, and more. On the Daeboreum (the day of the first full moon of the year), a pungmul band (percussion band) will perform to drive away evil spirits and daljip (brushwood) will be burned as part of the finale.
