Eagle Valley Ski Resort

Eagle Valley Ski Resort (Formerly Sajo Resort) at the top of Suanbo’s Hwangsan Valley was the only combined hot springs and ski resort until construction of other hot springs/ski resorts in 1995. The resort prides itself in making safety a priority and has ski officials (who have health and safety certification) patrolling the slopes. Other major draws of the resorts are its famed hot springs and its convenient location. The resort is easily accessible from Seoul and other major cities, and is located nearby a variety of popular tourist attractions.The Eagle Valley Ski Resort runs a shuttle bus service, however, the operating schedule varies by season. Sunchang Gochujang Village
Jeollabuk-do(Sunchang-gun)

Gochujang (고추장) is the famous traditional sauce/garnish used in almost every dish in Korea. The one prepared in the Sunchang region, is well-known in Korea for being especially tasty. The Sunchang Gochujang Village (순창 고추장마을) is located at the foot of Mt. Amisan in Sunchang City, Jeollabuk-do. The village has a population of just 149 people who live in 46 Hanoks (traditional Korean style houses). When you first walk into the village you will notice rows of traditional hang-a-ri (large clay jar) all lined up everywhere you go transporting you back into Korea’s past. Actually, it has not been long since Sunchang Gochujang Village was established. Gochujang-making artisans from all over Sunchang-gun (county) in one village came together and started up this village.Every year in early November the village hosts the Sunchang Gochujang Festival drawing many visitors to the place for the many attractions nearby. The places include the Hoemunsan Natural Forest, a lovely woody area and historical site; Gangcheonsan County Park; Baegyangsa temple, beautifully scenic in the snowy winter; Churyeong Jangseungchon, a village where visitors can see various forms of jangseung (Korean totem poles made of wood); Hyangga Yuwonji, a public park famous for being the place where scholars would come to boat and live a peaceful life in these inspiring surroundings; and Naejangsan, a mountain that turns into a vision of fiery autumnal shades in the fall.

Taereung / Gangneung (a.k.a, Taegangneung) [UNESCO World Heritage]
Seoul(Nowon-gu) , The Eastern Part of the Seoul

Designated as Historical Site No. 201, Taereung Gangneung is comprised of two tombs. Taereung Royal Tomb (태릉) houses the burial mound of Queen Munjeong who was the second queen of King Jungjong, the 11th King of the Joseon Dynasty, and Gangneung Royal Tomb (강릉) houses the burial mounds of King Myeongjong, the 13th King of Joseon Dynasty, and Queen Insunwanghu. King Myeongjong ascended the throne after his elder brother, King Injong when he was twelve years old at Geunjeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1545. The king’s mother, Queen Munjeong ruled behind the scenes, acting as guardian for eight years. Smokey Saloon – Itaewon Branch

An authentic American burger joint along one of the main restaurant streets of Itaewon, ’Smokey Saloon’ (est. 2005) is decorated like an old pub from the American ‘Wild West.’ Visitors may be surprised, however, that the burger restaurant is not filled with the scent of cigarette smoke, but rather the heavenly aroma of quality beef. The restaurant is famous for serving up thick beef patties that are seasoned only with salt and pepper, preserving the juicy flavor of the meat. The representative burger, the ‘Smoky Burger’ (a thick patty with roasted bacon, sauce, and cheese) is a customer favorite.

Yeonmudae Post
Gyeonggi-do(Suwon-si) , suwon

Yeonmudae Post is located inside Suwon's Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Situated on a relatively high hill between Changryongmun (the east gate of the fortress) and Hwahongmun (a north floodgate), Yeonmudae is an excellent military observation post with sweeping views of the inside of the fortress. After the fortress was completed in 1796, Yeonmudae was used as a training ground for troops for over two centuries, where they learned fighting skills involving swords, spears and arrows.At Yeonmudae, visitors can learn archery while wearing traditional military attire; the fortress also offers a wide array of performances for visitors to appreciate traditional Korean culture. Yeomudae is included in the Suwon City Tour course.

Jeju Sculpture Park
Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

Jeju Sculpture Park, opened in October 1987, is located in a primeval forest. It is a multi-purpose art center exhibiting 160 sculptures. In the park, you can feel the traditional beauty of Jeju Island even from the entrance where a tangerine tree was planted in 1970. At the main entrance, there is a Pyramid shape tower, which is a symbol of this park. The tower features reflecting images that vary by season, weather, or position of people who are looking at it.In the park, 160 sculptures are exhibited under the themes of “Meeting of Nature and Art", and "Meeting with Human Beings”. In the park, there is a sky lounge from where you can see Mt. Sanbangsan, Mt. Hallasan, and even the Marado Island at the southern end of Korea. Various performances are held here, and it has convenient facilities that you can enjoy after appreciating the sculptures.

Gudeurae Park
Chungcheongnam-do(Buyeo-gun)

Located at the western end of Mt. Buso along the Baekma River, the Gudeurae region boasts beautiful scenery and a well-developed sculpture park. The port in the region acted as an entrance to the Sabi Castle during the Baekje Dynasty and today serves as a dock for the cruise ship that travels up and down the Baekma River. Restaurants serving delicious regional cuisine are located near the dock, making the area a recommended tourist location for visitors who are looking for a combination of natural beauty and flavorful culinary delights.Gudeurae was designated a Korea tourist region in 1985. Following the official designation, a sculpture park housing 59 sculptures was established in the area. Thirty of the works of art were crafted by sculptors residing in Gudeurae who are known for skills that have been handed down from artists dating back to the Baekje Period. The other 29 pieces are from Korean and overseas artists who participated in the International Modern Sculpture Symposium in 1999. The sculptures bring about a sense of beauty that reflects the region’s history as well as modern art, making the park a popular tourist site and retreat for residents. A monument built in memory of a well-known folk song describing the beauty of Gudeurae is also located in the region.
