Baegunsan Recreational Forest

Baegunsan Recreational Forest (백운산자연휴양림) has Baegunsan Mountain that rises 1,218ms high above the sea level as the highest peak in the forest. Its artificial and natural forests of large pine trees offer a great view as the trees stand in harmony. Visitors are awed to see the beautiful valleys in the forests of Japanese cedars and Japanese cypresses. In early spring (February – March) about 7,000 camellia flowers are in full blossom. Baegunsan Mountain (백운산) is the treasure house of Korea’s eco system. Plenty of rare plants and animals are growing there and the sap of gorosoe trees, which is believed to be good for health, is available in the spring. The Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest is a truly blessed forest.

House of Mind

Situated in Yangpyeong (Gyeonggi-do) and surrounded by beautiful nature, House of Mind, built by the renowned architect, Min Gyu-am, is a unique pension house using concrete blocks. Named after flowers, houses are organized in such a way as to secure isolation while still connected to each other; each house is equipped with its own garden. Six houses are divided into two sections. The first section consists of three houses (Mint, Rosemary, and Lavender); the newly built second section offers three houses (Chamomile, Jasmine, and Thyme), a restaurant, and a seminar room. Each house offers distinct architectural styles and interior designs with a loft structure. There are also barbecue grills outside. Outdoor hot tubs are available only for visitors staying in Rosemary, Jasmine, and Chamomile. House of Mind is ideal for group gatherings (workshops or seminars), family visits, and romantic getaways. It has become popular as it has frequently appeared in magazines, commercials, and Korean dramas such as IRIS; it is also close to Vivaldi Park Ocean World in Daemyung Resort.

Yangpyeong Sansuyu Flower Festival

Molundae Cliff

‘Molundae’ (몰운대) literally means ‘the cliff beyond which clouds disappear’. The tip of the steep cliff is adorned with three specimens of 500-year-old pine trees. Imsil N Cheese Festival (임실N치즈축제)

 Imsil N Cheese Festival first started to promote the most famous cheese industry in Korea with more than 50 years of history. The festival grew and offers visitors a chance to become a character from a fairy-tale by entering a European-style cheese castle and to Imsil Cheese Theme Park and Imsil Cheese Village. When the festival starts in October, more than 10 million chrysanthemums fill the festival areas. Visitors will be able to taste and purchase goods made from Imsil at a discounted price.

Graveyard of Sinjangjeolgong
Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

The graveyard of Sinjangjeolgong (Sinjangjeolgong myoyeok) is the site of General Jangjeolgong Sin Sung-gyeom's tomb. Sin Sung-gyeom (Jangjeolgong is the posthumous name) is regarded as the founder of the Pyeongsan Sin clan. Together with Hong Yu, Bae Hyeon-gyeong and Bok Ji-gyeom, they dethroned Gung Ye and helped Wang Geon, the founder and first king of the Goryeo Dynasty, in claiming the throne. In 927, as Wang Geon was on the verge of death in this battle as his troops were closely besieged by the enemy, General Sin wore the king's armor and kept fighting for his country with until he died. The enemy thought he was the king so they beheaded him. Hence, Wang Geon was able to escape safely from the battle. The king grieved over the death of General Sin and used a head made of gold for the funeral. To mislead grave robbers, three graves were built even though there is only one dead body. Chosen as one of top four favorable sites for a grave in Korea, the graveyard is located inside of a dense pine grove. Also at the site are the Yeongjeonggak, Sindobigak, a memorial hall, and a house bulit for a memorial service.

Cheongsong Folk Museum
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Cheongsong-gun)

Situated in Juwangsan National Park (in Cheongsong, Gyeongsangbuk-do), Cheongsong Museum was opened in 1999 to promote the history and culture of the county and its nearby area. The three-story museum offers indoor & outdoor exhibition halls and archive rooms. The Indoor Exhibition Hall showcases educational material related to farming and customs of Cheongsong. Exhibitions - such as the Traditional Guest Room, Weaving Room, Items of Everyday Use, and Cheongsong Porcelain - offer glimpses of how people lived in the past. The Outdoor Exhibition Hall reproduces a traditional tavern, Mulle banga (waterwheel), Yeonja Banga (a millstone operated by a horse or ox), Josan (a monument to ward off misfortunes and protect prosperity), and Seondol (natural stones used for worship), with which visitors can experience farm life in the past. Traditional totem poles (called Jangseung or Sotdae) await visitors at the entrance of the museum. Exhibition hours are between 9 am and 6 pm (until 5 pm during winter). The museum is also surrounded by many tourist attractions: Wangbeodeul (grand willow trees designated as Natural Monument No.297) in Bugok-dong, Dalgi Falls, Cheongun Stream, and Songsaeng-ri Student Campgrounds to name a few.
