Gwangyang International Maehwa Festival

Gwangyang International Maehwa Festival takes place in Seomjin Village, home of the largest number of plum blossom trees in Korea. During the festival period, visitors can enjoy a walk beneath the plum blossoms, and also sample and purchase local organic plum products.

"Great Taekwondo" Kukkiwon Taekwondo Performance

Since February 2016, Kkukkiwon and Gangnam-gu Office have collaborated to present the 'Great Taekkwondo' performance for tourists visiting Kukkiwon. Visitors may watch impressive skills of taekwondo, one of a unique and representative acts that showcases the gist of Korean tourism. Besides, Kukkiwon has also plans to introduce a variety of fun and memorable taekwondo-related programs to both international visitors and children in Korea, in hope to increase awareness of Korea's indigenous cultural property to the world.

Rose of Sharon Festival of The Garden of Morning Calm

Gapyeong's Garden of Morning Calm will hold the Rose of Sharon Festival on July 15 - August 31. The garden, which organizes this festival annually, exhibits about 150 kinds of rose of Sharon, the nation's largest rose display of its kind, and also has Hibiscus Hill to remind visitors the meaning of the rose of Sharon. Visitors can also enjoy the variey of events such as a photograghy exhibition on the rose of Sharon, a rose of Sharon exhibition, rose of Sharon origami, rose of Sharon cuttage and many more.

Jinju Namgang Yudeung

Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival originates from the lantern lighting custom used during the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle of the Imjinwaeran War (Japanese invasion, 1592) as a military strategy to prevent Japanese troops from wading the Namgang River. The highlights of the festival are the floating of lanterns carrying personal wishes of the citizens along the Namgang River, and the parade of lanterns created by the students themselves. In addition, the festival features gaejesik (lighting of lanterns in remembrance of the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle veterans), an exhibition of the world’s traditional lanterns, and many more participatory cultural programs.

7080 Chungjang Recollection Festival

Held every October, the 7080 Chungjang Recollection Festival is one of Gwangju’s most representative festivals. The festival theme is the 1970s and 80s and creating a nostalgic atmosphere with various performances, exhibitions, and hands-on programs.During the festival, the streets in the venue are made to be similar to the scene of 70s and 80s. The 7080 Chungjang Recollection Festival hosts various programs such as a street parade, alumni reunions, intangible cultural asset performances, and more. 

Uiseong Sansuyu Flower Festival

Sansuyu Village is the venue for the Uiseong Sansuyu Festival in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Every March, the village is gilded with the bright yellow of tens of thousands of sansuyu flowers. Visitors are sure to enjoy a joyful view of the sansuyu flowers both day and night, thanks to the street lights illuminating the beautiful yellow flowers.

World Nightview Fantasy Lighting Festival at The Bucheon Aiins World

Aiins World, the world's best miniature theme park is hosting the second season of 'World Nightview Fantasy Lighting Festival'. 1:25 scale models of famous architectures are installed with 'interactive art 3D projection mapping', the nation's first ever Media-Facade techniques, which allows visitors to have an interactive engagement with the exhibitions. Every other spot of the miniatures’ exhibitions serve as great photo zones for visitors to take pictures with as souvenirs from this theme park.

'2016 Welcome to Joseon' Korean Folk Village Joseon Live Variety Festival

The best cultural theme park in the nation, the Korean Folk Village is hosting the '2016 Welcome to Joseon' Korean Folk Village Joseon Live Variety Festival from April 9 to June 12, 2016. It is the most representative spring festival of the Korean Folk Village and this year in particular, new parades have been added, along with upgraded version of the 'Fusion Madanggeuk: Birthday party of the Governor' will be held.  With a record of 1 million views on their highlight act featuring the 'flower beggar', 'merchant', 'gisaeng,' and new characters selected from the 'Joseon Characters Audition 3', a total of 22 actors will be seen performing in the acts. With Joseon dynasty as background, visitors may time travel back into a fantasy world with the characters in a interesting and real comedy act.  Besides, a variety of traditional and fun experiences including 'Traditional Costume Experience', making of mapae (transportation card used in the Joseon era), hopa (identity card) and fragrance pouch are also available for all visitors regardless of age and gender.
