Boryeong Cheonbuk Oyster Festival

The Cheonbuk Oyster Festival is an event prepared by the Boryeong Cheonbuk Oyster Festival Committee. This event promotes the diverse dishes and nutritious tastes of Cheonbuk Oysters to tourists and is a good opportunity to visit the Boryeong region . A variety of events have been prepared for the oyster festival, with, of course, the best-grilled Cheonbuk Oyster delicacies of the west coast and other delicious oyster dishes for tourists.  

Jongno Culture Festival

Jongno Cultural Festival is one of the biggest festivals held by the district located in central Seoul.This festival is comprised of several festivals under the district theme including the Insadong Cultural Festival, Royal Court and the Nobility’s Traditional Food Festival, Yukuijeon (Six Major Markets of the Joseon Dynasty) Experience Festival and Daehangno Small Theater Festival.In addition, visitors can participate in a wide range of themed events like the Bukchon Festival and Nationwide Archery Competition.

Gyeongbokgung Palace Jagyeongjeon Tea Ceremony

A traditional tea ceremony experience will take place at Jagyeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung every Saturday and Sunday from mid May to mid October, 2014.The ceremony includes a tea culture demonstration and experience, making honey cakes, traditional etiquette introduction, and lectures related to tea culture. To participate in the tea ceremony, download the application form from the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation website and submit the form through email.

Cheongpyeong Snowflake Festival

Cheongpyeong Snow Flake Festival located in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do includes fun activities such as catching trout with bare hands, ice fishing, riding on tradition sleds and many other hands-on activities. Visitors who had paid admission to the fishing reservoir are also invited to watch the free circus performance offered.

Bonghwa Eun-Uh

Bonghwa Eun-uh (Sweet Smelt) Festival, held in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, offers numerous participatory programs including sweet smelt fishing, underwater race and quiz show. Sweet smelt fishing, the festival’s highlight, is held two times a day during the week, and three times on Saturdays. Winners of the underwater race and the quiz show will receive local specialty products as prizes. Moreover, there are several educational and cultural programs including a freshwater fish exhibition featuring trout and other species, a sweet smelt ecology center where visitors can observe the natural environment that the fish live in, the Korean Currency Museum, Bonghwa tourist photo center, sweet smelt painting, ceramic, hanji (Korean traditional paper) handicraft, and stone inscription.  

Gaya Culture Festival

The Gaya Culture Festival is a historical and cultural festival of Gimhae-si, whose long history and tradition is based on the Geumgwan Gaya, a leading power among the six Gaya groups. The festival is well known at home and abroad.King Kim Suro founded Gaya in A.D. 42 and married Heo Hwang-ok, a princess from the Indian country of Ayuta, in A.D. 48. This was the first known international marriage in the history of the Korean Peninsula. Gaya was quite advanced in the production of earthenware and iron implements, and traded with neighboring countries like China, Nakrang, and Japan. It thrived as a center of international exchange in Northeast Asia, and its culture was also remarkably developed.Gimhae, the birthplace of the Gaya culture, has a long history and unique culture. Through the Gaya Culture Festival, the region is continuing to preserve, build on, and develop the Gaya culture and heritage. The Gaya Culture Festival asserts Gaya’s rightful place alongside the Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla kingdoms.

Cheongpunghoban Cherry Blossom Festival

Cheongpungho Cherry Blossom Festival is held in the Cheongpung Lake are of Jecheon when varied spring flowers such as white cherry blossom, forsythia and azalea are in full bloom. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions, performances as well as other activities like bungee jumping operated by Cheongpungho Lake, and water sports and leisure all in one spot. Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex and SBS Filming site in Jecheon are also situated near the lake for tourists to visit to the area.

Hoengseong Hanu Festival

Every year, Hanu (Korean native cattle) Festival takes places in Hoengseong County, where the climate and the environment are said to be perfect for raising cattle. The festival attracts a large number of people, who come to try the usually expensive Hoengseong hanu beef at affordable prices, along with another specialty of Hoengseong County, deodeok (mountain bellflower). In addition to food sampling, the festival holds diverse agriculture experience programs, while offering access to nearby attractions such as Hoengseong Hot Springs and Jucheongang River Natural Forest Lodge.

Everland Tulip Festival (에버랜드 튤립축제)

Everland hosts the Tulip Festival to mark the onset of spring from March to April each year. Over 1.2 million tulips in 100 different varieties including Apeldoon, Synaeda Blue and Pink Diamond will be on display. The amusement park awaits guests to visits the themed garden, featuring sculptures and paths adorned with beautiful spring flowers. One of the most popular photo zones is the 26 meter-tall Flower Magic Tower, and as night falls, the LED Musical Rose Garden where LED roses are lighted in various colors, accompanied with dynamic background music can be uniquely enjoyed.
