The Daesungri Masou Festival takes place around Guuncheon Stream. The festival aims to promote Daeseong-ri, the first geteway to Gapyeong-gun, through organizing a wide variety of fun activities.The part of Guuncheon Steam where the festival is being held is located next to Bukhanggang River. The venue is just three minutes away from Daeseongri Station. Jeongwol Daeboreum Event of Korean Folk Village

Jeongwol Daeboreum falls on January 15 each year on the lunar calendar, and always takes places on the full moon. It is the brightest moon of the year, and a day for telling fortunes and a national holiday in Korea. The Korean Folk Village plans a special Jeongwol Daeboreum event each year to celebrate. The event features traditional Daeboreum activities including burning daljip (brushwood), Jangseungje ceremony, Byeotgaritdae seugi (making a stack of rice straw), Jisinbapgi and Gilnori, sharing Boreum food and special performances like Bukcheong Saja Noreum (play about lions), juldarigi (tug-of-war) and more. Daegu Dalbae Dalmaji Festival

Welcoming the first full moon of the new year and burning daljip (brushwood) are a few traditional customs for the 15th day of the Lunar New Year that took place in the past in various regions of Korea, including Dalbigol. The festival was renewed in 1997 after being gradually forgotten due to urbanization and industrialization.

Nagan Folk Culture Festival

Nakan Folk Village is comprised of 200 thatched houses with residents who do farming for their living. The village remains the way it looked back in Joseon Dynasty and was designated as a historical site No. 302. The Nakan Folk Festival is a representative festival in the village, where traditional and contemporary meet. The festival includes buchae-chum (dance with a fan), gukak performance, royal guard changing ceremonies, an historical impersonation of Im Gyeong-eop (a prominent Korean general during the Joseon Dynasty), and many other activities that one can feel the life of the olden days.

Suncheon Citizen's Day Event & Palma Cultural Festival

The Suncheon Citizen's Day Event is held at the grass plaza inside the Garden Expo venue. The event is held to celebrate the success of the Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo and to thank the residents of Suncheon-si for their support. Booths are set up at the plaza so visitors can enjoy the programs such as the singing contest, concerts, yutnori (Korean traditional board game), arm wrestling, jegichagi (Korean hacky sack), and tuho (arrow throwing). Visitors can also enjoy the various perfomances from participating artist groups, gukak (Korean traditional music) orchestra, and nongak (traditional Korean music performed by farmers) bands from the different municipalities.

Yeoju Geumsa Oriental Melon Festival

Yangpyeong Sansuyu Flower Festival

The Yangpyeong Sansuyu Flower Festival is usually held for two days on early April every year. Visitors to the festival can enjoy walking under yellow sansuyu trees while participating in various hands-on programs including face painting, wood chopping, playing traditional drums, grilling potatoes over a wood fire, a treasure hunt, much more.

Imsil N Cheese Festival (임실N치즈축제)

 Imsil N Cheese Festival first started to promote the most famous cheese industry in Korea with more than 50 years of history. The festival grew and offers visitors a chance to become a character from a fairy-tale by entering a European-style cheese castle and to Imsil Cheese Theme Park and Imsil Cheese Village. When the festival starts in October, more than 10 million chrysanthemums fill the festival areas. Visitors will be able to taste and purchase goods made from Imsil at a discounted price.  

Inje Icefish Festival (인제 빙어축제)

Inje Icefish Festival will be held at Soyangho Lake in Inje. At this spectacular winter festival visitors will be able to try out ice fishing and exciting games such as human bowling on ice, ice soccer, and even a tug-of-war on ice. For those icefish fanatics there will be an icefish eating competition, and visitors can sample the icefish for free.
