From May to October, the Suwon Cultural Foundation has opened the UNESCO World Heritage Suwon Hwaseong and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace to the public for a special nighttime program known as "Moonlight Tour at Suwon Hwaseong". Appreciate the beauty of a moonlight Suwon and Hwaseong and enjoy various programs such as exploring Haengggung Palace, reading poems with commentary and traditional performances, which are put in place to create a memorable experience for all visitors.

This festival showcases all of the world’s martial arts forms, as well as Korea’s traditional martial arts. This festival opens with the theme 'World's Martial Arts and Culture', showcasing demonstrations of Taekkyeon, Taekwondo, and Hapkido by Korea’s traditional martial arts groups. Martial artists from 16 nations have been invited to the festival, and will be taking part in demonstrations and performances. Programs have been prepared for non-Korean speakers and visitors will get a chance to try out many of the martial arts on display.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Mungyeong-si)

Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal (tea cup) Festival will be held in the area of Mugyeongsaejae in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The festival will have thematic events with a story about pottery makers throwing clay on the potter’s wheel.Mungyeong also features Mangdaengi, the oldest kiln in Korea. Gyeongsangnam-do(Jinju-si)

Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival originates from the lantern lighting custom used during the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle of the Imjinwaeran War (Japanese invasion, 1592) as a military strategy to prevent Japanese troops from wading the Namgang River. The highlights of the festival are the floating of lanterns carrying personal wishes of the citizens along the Namgang River, and the parade of lanterns created by the students themselves. In addition, the festival features gaejesik (lighting of lanterns in remembrance of the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle veterans), an exhibition of the world’s traditional lanterns, and many more participatory cultural programs.


Seoul(Jongno-gu) , Insadong・Jongnon

A traditional tea ceremony experience will take place at Jagyeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung every Saturday and Sunday from mid May to mid October, 2014.The ceremony includes a tea culture demonstration and experience, making honey cakes, traditional etiquette introduction, and lectures related to tea culture. Chungcheongnam-do(Asan-si)

The Asan Great Admiral Yi Sun-Sin Festival celebrates one of Korea’s most famous war heroes, Yi Sun-Sin, who defeated the Japanese in a momentous naval battle around 460 years ago. The festival takes place in the period around the Admiral’s birth date on April 28 in order to commemorate his achievements. Events at the festival will include a reenactment of the parade when Yi Sun-Sin took his sailors off to war and displays featuring detailed reproductions of the famous turtle-shaped ships (Geobukseon, 'Turtle Ship'), which were used in the battle.
