The Lotus Lantern Festival is held every year in honor of Buddha's Birth. The festival is preceded by hanging of lotus-shaped lanterns across Seoul for several weeks, and officially kicks off with lighting of the Jangeumdang, a large lantern that symbolizes Buddhism and Buddha's Birthday, at the Seoul Plaza. The celebration continues with a wide array of Buddhist programs and activities, before ending with an impressive lantern parade in the heart of Seoul.

Bastille Day

FKCCI Bastille Day event is one of the chamber’s biggest annual events. Bastille Day is the name given in English-speaking countries to the French National Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of July every year. In France, it is formally called La Fête Nationale (The National Celebration) and commonly le Quatorze Juillet. This cultural event represents the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison, which is seen as a symbol of the end of the constitutional monarchy that preceded the First Republic during the French Revolution. Festivities in France begin with a big parade held on the morning of July 14th on the Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris, which is attended by the president of france and broadcast on television. Other programs include a VIP garden party at the Elysée and the final bouquet of fireworks all around the Eiffel Tower. In celebration of this national holiday, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Embassy of France in Korea organize an annual party. The result is a festival of over 500 people celebrating Bastille Day in a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. It is a day for people of all ages to come and enjoy France and French culture in Korea. Taebaek Sunflower Festival
Gangwon-do(Taebaek-si)

Guwau Village (Taebaek, Gangwon-do) is host to the Taebaek Sunflower Festival, a celebration of the area’s wide array of colorful wildflowers and endless fields of sunflowers (the largest sunflower patch in Korea). The festival takes place in about a 661,157㎡ filled with 300 species of wild flowers along with a sunflower field walking path and other hands-on program with wild flowers.

E-World Starlight Festival
Daegu(Dalseo-gu)

E-World Starlight Festival is held with ten million lights in an area of 120,000 pyeong around E-World and 83 Tower. Hot-air balloons, roses, and masks light decorations and other events will catch people’s eyes at this carnival-like festival. The events start at night and large characteristic trees are decorated along the 200m Light Road, as well as a Umbrella Road, Carnival Road, and photo zone created by 1,000 lights. Also, 10,000 LED roses cover the proposal stairs, creating a romantic and special ambience. This festival is beloved by young couples as part of a night dating course.

Busan International Film Festival

Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) is one of the largest film festivals in Korea. Beginning in 1996 as the first international film festival in Korea, it is now a major global event.Held in Haeundae and Nampo-dong, Busan, the festival presents over 300 films from 70 countries. The main program themes include: A Window on Asian Cinema, New Currents, Korean Cinema Today, Korean Cinema Retrospective, World Cinema, Wide Angle, Open Cinema, and Special Programs in Focus.The festival also boasts a wide array of special events, outdoor performances and participatory programs. Tickets for opening and closing films can only be purchased online. 20% of seats for regular films (including films screened in theaters or outdoor venues) will be available for sale at on-site ticket booths. Main festival venues include Busan Cinema Center, CGV Centum City, Lotte Cinema Centum City, Megabox Haeundae and Community Media Center Busan.

Taean Tulip Festival

At the 2015 World Tulip Summit held at the Suncheon Bay Garden exhibition, Taean Tulips Festival was selected to be one of the world's top five tulip festivals, including America (Michigan, Holland), Canada (Ottawa), Japan (Honshu) and India (Kashmir). The advanced planting technique used is one of the biggest determinant factors that leads to the recognition. The upcoming Taean Tulip Festival follows a theme of 'The Garden of Artists' and tulips forming images of well-known figures such as Mona Lisa and Marilyn Monroe can be seen after sunset as they are lit at night by LED lights. 春のうららかな日、雑踏とした都心から抜け出してチューリップを観賞して余裕を感じ、泰安の美しい海とおいしい料理で楽しい旅行ができることでしょう。また、日没後にはLEDでライトアップされた華麗な光の世界が待っています。家族や恋人、友達同士で楽しい思い出を作ることができます。

Baekje Cultural Festival

Baekje Cultural Festival first started in 1955 to commemorate the three loyal subjects of the Baekje era, namely Seongchung, Heungsu, and Gyebaek through a Samchungje rite. The lonely souls drifting throughout Baekje’s land are also comforted through a separate ritual ceremony, known as the Suryukje rite.Also, Samchungsa Temple was established in 1965 and the scale of the festival became bigger in 1965, hosted by the province. Its name was changed to Baekje Cultural Festival since then.

Wonju Dynamic Dancing Carnival
