Seoul(Jung-gu)

Jeongdong Theater is Korea's premier cultural venue for traditional performing arts, and is a restoration of Wongaksa, the first modern Korean theater. The theater has prepared and showcased high-quality traditional performing arts all over the world though their original productions "Miso" and "YOULL." In 2017, Jeongdong Theater has planned a variety of traditional performances including pansori, a musical storytelling tradition inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, live bands made up of nine traditional instruments, and fan dancing.


Seoul(Guro-gu)

The Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization are sponsoring the 2018 PyeongChang K-pop Festival for foreigners at Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome on the evening of September 8. The line-up will include hallyu stars like SHINEE, BEAST, Wonder Girls, Boys Republic and more. Other activities of the festival include a special stage, hallyu drama experience booth, photo wall, gift event and more. Jeollanam-do(Yeongam-gun)

This festival celebrates the achievements of Korea’s Dr. Wangin, who travelled to Japan over 1,600 years ago to spread knowledge culture and art. His teachings included the Thousand-Character Text (a primer of Chinese Characters) and the Analects (Discourses) of Confucius. Wangin taught writing composition to the Japanese and developed the foundations of education, which greatly influenced all areas of study, including social science, politics, economics, culture, and art. This festival is set in the beautiful landscape of Wolchulsan National Park and Dr Wangin’s achievements are celebrated with various performances and cultural events. The festival takes place in April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

The Seogwipo Rape Flower (Canola Blossom) International Walking Festival is held at the Jeju Sculpture Park and surrounding areas of the Seogwipo region. During the walking festival, participants can enjoy the picturesque springtime views of Jeju by walking by the deep-blue waters along the Seogwipo coastline and through seas of yellow canola flowers.The festival is open to anyone and there are no time restrictions to stay through the course.


Gyeonggi-do(Goyang-si) , Ilsan

The special exhibition of the Korean TV drama "My Love from the Star," which was met with huge popularity in many parts of Asia, has moved from Art Hall 1 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) to Ilsan Kintex (Korea International Exhibition Center). Both domestic and international visitors are welcome to the event, which is to be held at the outdoor venue of Exhibition Center II in Kintex. Actual film sets where indoor scenes of the show were shot will be open to the public, and drama props and costumes will also be on display. Also, visitors can take a virtual photo with Do Min-jun and Chen Song-i, the main characters of the show, using the CGI technology Chromakey, Timeslice, as well as the 3D video image exhibition. What's more, specially added features for this exhibition offer fans an opportunity to be a TV presenter and weather forecaster for a day, as well as trying their hand at producing a news program and soap opera. The whole exhibition gives visitors a chance to experience hallyu to the fullest.


Gyeonggi-do(Anyang-si)

The World Taekwondo Hanmadang is the global Taekwondo headquarters, and presents the true essence of Taekwondo's elements, including attacks, demonstrations, and self defense. Every year at the World Taekwondo Headquarters, an international Taekwondo competition is held in order to manifest the spirit of this martial art and to increase the unity of global Taekwondo martial artists. Since its first opening in 1992, the competition has become known as the world's leading authority for the tradition of Taekwondo. Through the World Taekwondo Hanmadang, participants can enhance the value of Taekwondo as a cultural consciousness, and also act as an instrument through which the superiority of Taekwondo's culture can be spread globally. In particular, it functions as an international Taekwondo instructional festival for those not well-versed in its practices, and through the tourism programs offered for international Taekwondo practitioners to visit the martial art's home country and headquarters, the event will serve as a commercializing opportunity to propel the spirit of Taekwondo further. With over 50 nations and over 5,000 attendees annually, in addition to the actual sparring events, through its display of poomsae, attacks, self defense, and Taekwondo gymnastics, it is making its mark as an international Taekwondo festival that highlights the elegant and sophisticated elements of this ancient martial art.


Chungcheongnam-do()

Gyeryong Military Culture Festival held in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do where tri-service military is located, features one of the nation’s most representative festivals, attracting about 900,000 visitors each year. The festival is considered to be unique as it deals with a military culture. It offers fantastic air shows, various military gear experiences such as repel, military’s zip-line, helicopter, armored car, and other devices, as well as martial music performance, other cultural art performances and events for visitors. Simultaneously, the Army Festival is also held during the Gyeryong Military Culture Festival and thus, visitors can enjoy both festivals at the same time.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Jecheon-si)

Cheongpungho Cherry Blossom Festival is held in the Cheongpung Lake are of Jecheon when varied spring flowers such as white cherry blossom, forsythia and azalea are in full bloom. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions, performances as well as other activities like bungee jumping operated by Cheongpungho Lake, and water sports and leisure all in one spot. Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex and SBS Filming site in Jecheon are also situated near the lake for tourists to visit to the area.


Seoul(Jung-gu)

Seoul Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival is held in the area of Gwanghwamun Square. Registered as one of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Gimjang (preparing kimchi for the winter) has drawn a lot of attention from all over the world. However, the culture of gimjang is slowly disappearing, as Korean culture becomes more globalized. Seoul goverment has planned this festival to revitalize the culture of gimjang, preparing almost 20 programs divided into the 5 sections of sharing, exhibition, hands-on programs, market place and food, and culture for visitors to enjoy the festival to the fullest. 


Daegu(Jung-gu)

Sponsored and managed by Daegu Foundation of Culture, Daegu Colorful Festival features performances and art programs for people to participate in. It will be held on the area of Gukchaebosang-ro. The festival prepares various genres of street performances and art programs to enjoy the festival to the fullest.
