The 5·18 Memorial Park was established to remember the May 18 Democratization Movement. Covering an area of 204,985㎡, the park houses various historical and cultural facilities, including the 5·18 Library, 5·18 Cultural Center, Education Center, Daedong Plaza, Owoldae Tower, and other memorial sculpture and monuments. The park is also home to Mugaksa Temple and walking paths.

If you avoid battles to preserve your life, you will die." - Nanjung Ilgi (War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-shin) One of the best naval commanders Korea has ever known, a statue of Yi Sun-shin was installed at Gwanghwamun Square before King Sejong the Great to celebrate the 465 anniversary of his birth. On April 28, 2010, The Story of Admiral Yi Sun-shin was opened in the basement of Sejong Center to commemorate his life and accomplishments. Located next to The Story of King Sejong, the exhibit is divided into 8 experience zones further focused on 12 themes related to Admiral Yi's life, ranging from determination and devotion to loyalty of country and countrymen. The museum uses the latest in digital technology to bring this great hero to life. Another great attraction to the museum is the turtle war-ship made famous by Admiral Yi shrunk down to 55% of the real size. Despite the down-size, the ship is still big enough for guests to board and row the oars, with a digital display of the ocean waves playing on moniters all around for a fun 4-D experience.

Opened in 1980, Sehwa Beach may not be a big beach, but has beautiful clear cobalt blue waters. The beach stretches for approximately 200 meters with a distance of approximately 30-40 meters from the shore. Its location nearby Sehwa-eup provides visitors with convenient access of accommodations and other facilities. Nearby attractions include Crinum Lily Habitat, Byeolbangjin Fortress, and Seokdawon Park. Length 1km, x_width 30-40m, slope 5 degrees, average depth 1-2m.

A new leap in aerospace and aircraft history has been made on Jeju Island with the grand opening of the Jeju Aerospace Museum on April 24, 2014. Ulleungdo is a pentagon-shaped island located 92km away from Dokdo.The island was made from a series of volcanic eruptions. Its highest peak is called Seonginbong Peak, and there is a village along the coastline on the slope. On the north side is a caldera crater which collapsed to create the Nari Basin and the Albong Basin.Level ground is difficult to find here and the shores are mostly cliffs. There are a lot of snow in the winter. About half of the people work in the fishing industry. Corn, potatoes, wheat and beans were cultivated here, but nowadays mountain plants and medicinal herbs are mostly grown instead.There are dongbaek trees and some 650 other plants and trees thriving on the island. The neighboring waters is the junction line between two cold & warm ocean currents, where many squids, saury and pollacks are caught. The Ulleungdo squid is especially famous for their outstanding quality. It has been said that there are no thieves, pollution or snakes on Ulleungdo Island. On the other hand, there are many aromatic trees, wind, beautiful women, water and rocks. This is why it is called the island of The Three Mu (The Chinese character meaning ' have nothing') and Five Da (The Chinese character meaning 'have many of').You can enjoy the scenery by taking a cruise around Ulleungdo, Gwaneumdo Islands, and a natural tunnel. Elephant Rock, Samseonan, and Lion Rock are some of the other tourist attractions praised by tourists.

The mountain in the center of Ulleungdo Island is Seonginbong Peak. It is 983.6m high and other peaks of over 900m stretch out to its right and left. As the steep Seonginbong Mountain Range ends at the coastal precipice, the whole island seems like a single huge mountain. The foot of Seonginbong Peak is covered with thick primeval forests designated as Natural Monument No. 189, and the rare plants found only in Ulleungdo Island make this place of unique scenic beauty. The Nari Basin, the north of the mountain, is a caldera formed by volcanic activities and the only flat ground on Ulleungdo Island. 

The Global Village Folk Museum is a public museum housed in and affiliated with the Seoul Education Research & Information Institute. The museum displays relics from various countries, helping visitors and locals broaden their horizons by learning about folk cultures from around the world. Approximately 1,500 items are on display at the museum: 922 from Asia, 228 from Europe, 162 from the Americas, 121 from Africa, and 64 from Oceania. When categorized according to theme, 512 items are related to folk art, 74 are related to folk religion, 625 are folk life, 86 are fire starters, 37 are weapons, and the remainder fall into smaller groups. The museum has been designated an “Experience-oriented Education Zone” of Seoul.
