Cheonmasan County Park
Gyeonggi-do(Namyangju-si) , Namyangju

Cheonmasan Mountain (천마산, 812m), located in the center of Namyangju City, is shaped like Dalma, a famous Buddhist monk, sitting with his shoulders back, and giving a grand and calm impression. The name Cheonma was given by King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon dynasty. It means a mountain that is high enough to touch the sky. The mountain is renowned for its beauty year-round, being snow-capped in winter; erupting in fresh verdure during spring; taking on a deep, lush green hue in summer and a myriad of colors in the fall. The mountain’s proximity to Seoul and its pristine spring waters that rush over the cliffs on the southwest face, make the mountain a popular destination. Mt. Cheonma is perfect for a day hike with its lush forests and natural springs where fresh healthy waters well up from the ground.

Isang Yun Memorial Park
Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

A memorial park for the world-renowned composer Isang Yun was created in Docheon-dong, Tongyeong-si where the great composer was born. The Isang Yun Memorial Park consists of several sections including an exhibition hall displaying the composer’s legacy; a multi-purpose lounge, serving coffee and selling souvenirs; a Memorial Hall, where all kinds of performances and seminars take place; and Gyeongsa Square, an outdoor event venue.

Donggureung Royal Tomb [UNESCO World Heritage]
Gyeonggi-do(Guri-si) , Guri

Donggureung Tombs are located in a large forest area, and they are the resting place of Joseon's kings and queens. There are nine royal mausoleums and seventeen graves in total. The tombs are very large compared to other tombs in Korea, and the surrounding forest adds to the scenery. The nine royal mausoleums include the tomb of Joseon Dynasty’s founder King Taejo (1335-1408), which is called Geonwolleung (건원릉).All around the mausoleums are thick forests, and between the graves there are casual walking trails. An especially famous part of the Donggureung Tomb area is the historically significant field of purple eulalia reeds. The long reeds are said to have been transplanted from King Taejo’s hometown in the Hamheung region. The burial site carries 600 years of Joseon history with it.

Hamo Beach
Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si) , Seogwipo

Hamo Beach is a 250 meter long and 100 meter wide sandy beach. Being the closest beach to Moseulpo, it is also called Moseulpo Beach. The sand is fine, the seawater is shallow, and there is also an expansive green field behind the beach for camping, so it is a great summer vacation destination for families. The beach is still relatively unknown to tourists, so visitors can enjoy a quiet atmosphere. They can also rent a fishing boat. Wild fish and turban shells can be had at inexpensive prices in nearby restaurants.

Bijarim Forest
Jeju-do(Jeju-si) , The Eastern Part of the Jeju Island

Designated as a natural monument, Bijarim Forest is a group of about 2,800 nutmeg trees between 500 and 800 years old. They are 7-14m in x_height and 50-110cm in diameter. This is the largest nutmeg tree forest in the world. In the middle of the forest is an 800-year-old tree, called ‘Ancestor tree of the Bija trees.' The tree is the oldest tree on Jeju-do with a x_height of 25 meters and girth of 6 meters.The trees emit a lot of phytoncide, which is said to strengthen the immune system and natural healing ability of the human body. Nutmeg tree blossoms and the oil are said to have been used as insecticides in the past. There are also rare orchids and plants growing in the forest. A walkway through the forest has been installed for visitors to enjoy a stroll through the wonderful forest.

Asan-si Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone
Chungcheongnam-do(Asan-si)

Asan-si Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone includes Dogo, Asan and Onyang Hot Springs. When Onyangoncheon Station on Seoul subway line No.1 opened in December, 2008, the number of tourists who traveled here increased. It is said that Onyang Hot Springs is 1300 years old, which means that it dates back to the Three Kingdoms Period. During the period of the Joseon Dynasty, it was the rulers’ favorite spot for treatment and recuperation. Onyang Hot Springs has alkaline water and boasts high water quality and a large volume. The water temperature is 37~54℃. There are 200 accommodation facilities and amenities, including hotels, Oncheonjang hot springs and restaurants, which make Onyang Hot Springs the best place for recreation and rest. Designated as a therapeutic hot springs, Dogo Hot Springs is equipped with spa treatment facilities. The water park within the hot springs is popular with families. Near the hot springs is a station that used to be Dogooncheon Station, but today, visitors can experience rail bike riding there. Another spot to visit is Asan Botanical Garden, which shows off beautiful flowers even in the depths of winter. Asan Hot Springs has a variety of water park attractions in its theme hot springs. As the hot springs has soft water and contains plenty of minerals, such as silicic acid, sodium and calcium, it is said that drinking the water boosts metabolism and strengthens the digestive system. Sinbulsan Mountain
Gyeongsangnam-do(Namhae-gun)

Sinbulsan Mountain (1,209 meters) was designated as a county park, which includes the neighboring Ganwolsan Mountain, by the county of Ulju-gun on November 3, 1983. These mountains stretch around the village of Eonyang and form cliffs on the east with oddly-shaped rocks rising from them. The scenery is beautiful throughout all four seasons and the majestic mountain looks like it is reaching toward the sky high above the clouds. Thus it is often referred to as the Yeongnam Alps. Near the peak of Sinbulsan sits a fortress with breathtaking views of silver grass. It is called Danjiseong or Danjoseong because it is shaped like a jar. Below Wangbong Peak is Hongnyu Falls, which cascades down into Jakgwaecheon Stream. The Ganwolsaji Temple Site and the Ganwolsaji Seated Stone Buddha can be found inside Jakcheonjeong Pavilion.

Haenam Uhangri Dinosaur Museum

The area of Haenam Uhang-ri is designated as Natural Monument No. 394 since the area remains not only a fossil district with footprints of dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and birds, but also has a rich geologic history. So, Haenam-gun created the Haenam Uhangri Dinosaur Museum in order to showcase the natural heritage and experience the dinosaur exhibition such as a 4D video room and special exhibition. The museum is the very first dinosaur museum in the southwest region of Korea and features plenty of dinosaur remains and other related exhibits.

Andong Station
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

Andong Station sits on the Jungang Rail Line. Since it opened in October 15, 1930, all passenger trains that currently travel along both Yeongdong and Jungang Lines stop at this station. Andong Station has water tower that was installed in 1940, whose 12-sided shape is very unique, thus leading to its designation as no. 49 on the list of  Registered Cultural Properties of Korea. For those transferring to intercity buses, Andong Terminal is about 6 kilometers away, and can be accessed via city buses 0, 1, 2, and 11 from in front of Andong Station.
