As evenings draw in closer with the approaching winter, Seoul Lantern Festival will be setting the mood for a romantic fall evening in Seoul! From November 3 to November 19, Seoul Lantern Festival will light up the areas of Cheonggyecheon Stream (from Cheonggye Plaza to Gwansugyo Bridge) with colorful illuminations and captivate the hearts of visitors who walk along the stream. The festival will take place every evening from 17:00 to 23:00 throughout the festival period.

With the slogan of “A glimpse into PyeongChang 2018 through the lanterns in Seoul,” this year’s Seoul Lantern Festival will prepare a series of special lighting displays representing 15 winter sports from the upcoming Winter Olympics, such as figure skating, short track, bobsleigh, ski jump, etc. In addition to the PyeongChang 2018 exhibition, the festival will also feature a variety of fascinating light displays arranged in 21 different themes. 

Besides viewing the beautiful lightings, visitors are welcome to participate in experience programs and enjoy delicious food. Several food trucks will be available to choose from throughout the festival venue, offering great appetizers as well as awesome meals. Visitors can also make a wish by writing wish notes on a lantern, then setting it afloat on the stream. Wish lanterns will be available for 3,000 won at the festival experience booth located under Cheonggyecheon Stream’s Gwanggyo Bridge. Take note that lanterns will not be collected and returned to the owners once afloat the Cheonggyecheon Stream due to safety reasons.
