Cultural Heritage Administration, Royal Culture Festival Organizing Committee / Dae Han Imperial House Korea's beautiful palaces and the royal culture they present have great value as precious tangible and intangible heritages. The Royal Culture festival is held at the Four Royal Palaces and Jongmyo Shrine, allowing visitors to get first-hand knowledge of their value. Each of the five venues will have unique performances, exhibitions, experiences and programs set within the individual traits of the palaces and Jongmyo Shrine. The palaces and Jongmyo Shrine, which have kept their place forhundreds of years, will be hosting the Royal Culture Festival for ten daysfrom April 28 to May 7. Marking its third anniversary, the Royal PalaceFestival is a cultural heritage festival that reinterprets the court cultureand historical background of each palace. Museum Kimchikan

Museum Kimchikan is a unique museum dedicated to kimchi and kimjang, the process of making kimchi which was designated as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The museum was also selected by CNN in March 2015 as one of the world’s top 11 food museums. Visitors can learn the history of kimchi as well as learn and get a taste of the different types of kimchi. Audio guides in English, Japanese, and Chinese are available for international visitors and a guided tour of the museum by a docent is also available at designated times. Located within the KBS broadcasting station in Yeouido, KBS On is first museum in Korea dedicated to the history and evolution of the Korean broadcasting industry. Visitors can experience radio and television broadcasting production firsthand. KBS On first opened on January 1, 1977 and after extensive renovation, the museum re-opened in April 2001. Now, the museum offers better services than before with the addition of a Hologram Corner, Stereoscopic Media Experience Corner, and Character Photo Zone. The tour starts from the main hall on the second floor and continues onto the fourth and fifth floors. In addition to the small museum, radio drama studio, sound effect instruments, 9 o'clock news corner, hologram corner, stereoscopic media experience hall and chroma key corner, visitors have the chance to observe the TV production process and radio programming process through a window that looks out into the broadcasting studio.

Rail Cruise Haerang

Rail Cruise Haerang, a hotel-on-wheels, began operating in November 2008 as the nation's first tourist train with sleeping accommodations. With a name meaning "together with the sun," Haerang was designed to be a luxury train similar to a yacht traveling along a beautiful mountain river beneath the bright sun. The exterior of the train is painted in a deep blue with gold lines and a logo featuring a phoenix while the interior design has Korean elements. Yangnyeongsi Oriental Medicine Cultural Center was established in 1993. On the first floor is the herbal medicine market, which opens every five days and sells different types of herbal medicine from across the country. The second floor, divided into six zones, houses various experience station, a souvenir shop and an outdoor garden. The third floor, divided into four zones, displays the general and historical facts about Oriental medicine development in the city of Yangnyeong. Through multiple exhibitions and various hands-on experience programs, the Cultural Center continues to provide an opportunity to experience the 350-year-old traditions in the history of Yangnyeong-si and Yakjeon Medicine Alley.

Let's Run Park Jeju

Horse racing has become a unique attraction in Jeju Island, also referred to as the Hawaii of Asia. The Korean Horse Affairs Association dedicated 2 years and 6 months to complete the construction of Jeju Racecourse, which opened on October 28, 1990 and became a popular local attraction since then. It is the only horse race game in the world that uses Jeju Island’s native ponies, Jejuma, as race horses, providing exotic and unique entertainment for the audience. The race takes place at the mid-slope of Hallasan Mountain that offers scenic views of its magnificent mountain slopes in the background. The summer night race with its silver-gray light from the light tower and the nearby artificial waterfall provides a romantic and enthusiastic atmosphere enough to chase away the summer heat. * Establishment Purpose – To protect and breed Jeju Island’s native horses, Jejuma (designated as the Natural Monument No. 347) and in result make a contribution to the local community by promoting Jeju Island tourism and livestock production industry. * Jejuma – Jejuma, name given to the native horses of Jeju Island, is a symbol of Jeju Island. Jejumas are bred in the wild with minimum human contact. They also represent the people of Jeju Island as Jejumas are known for their great adaptive nature and strong perseverance compared to their size. Jejumas are designated as the Natural Monument No. 347 as their number has drastically decreased due to the development of transportation and farming equipments.
