Central City, located in Banpo-dong, Gangnam-gu, is a high-end lifestyle cultural complex that is often thought of as “a city in the city.” Main landmarks at the complex are Shinsegye Department Store, Marriott Hotel, Central Park, and Millennium Hall, which is mainly used as a venue for weddings and other large events. Convenient facilities include banks, hospitals, investment banks, a post office and a large parking lot.
The Central City building is not only praised for its advanced architecture, but has also become a main hangout spot for Korean youth. In particular, Marquis Plaza (a high-end luxury shopping mall), Synnara Record music store, Youngpoong Bookstore, and Central 6 (a multiplex theater), and the high-tech arcade are attract the younger generation, especially on the weekends.
The entire area of Central City measures 430,000㎡(approximately 130,000 pyeong) and is one of the largest single buildings in the country. Over 200,000 people pass through Central City each day, as it is part of a major subway station (Express Bus Terminal Station) and express bus terminal.
If you follow the farm road about 600m to the southwest from Daepo-dong, at the end of the pine tree forest is a cliff. At the base of this cliff is the Jisatgae Coast along with the imposing stone pillars. The Jusangjeolli are stone pillars piled up along the coast and is a designated cultural monument of Jejudo Island. The Jusangjeolli was formed when the lava from Hallasan Mountain erupted into the sea of Jungmun. They are rock pillars shaped like cubes or hexagons of various sizes and almost seem as if stonemasons had carved them out. The administration of the district named them 'Jisatgae Rocks' from their old name 'Jisatgae'. Its 20m cliff makes it a popular spot for high tide and sea angling. The waves of the high tides crashing into the side of the cliff provide a breathtaking view of the ocean surrounding the pillars.
Thanks to its rich history, Namdaemun Shopping Center boasts not only an impressive array of items, but items not available elsewhere. For instance, visitors can find all kinds of hard-to-get camera parts and accessories. Local products from across the country are also readily available in Namdaemun Shopping Center.
The original name of the Mingadaheon (Min’s Club) was Minikduga (Minikdu’s Home), but it was renamed and remodeled into a fusion restaurant in 2001. Minikduga was designed by Gilryong Park (1898-1943), the pioneer of modern Korean architecture, in 1930. This house, which is located in Gyeongun-dong, is a historical building that helps to understand the changes in Korean architecture. The exterior of the building looks like a traditional Korean house while on the inside it is decorated in a totally modern style. The restaurant is decorated with Victorian furniture and a fireplace. Mingadaheon offers six kinds of Korean style-food and fusion meals for lunch and dinner, three kinds of green tea from Boseong-gun, and eight kinds of handmade rice cakes, Korean tea and Korean cookies are served with the set menu. There are 200 kinds of wine available to choose from.
When Dolgorae Sundubu first opened in 1982, it sold sundubu (soft tofu stew) at a mere 600won, which was cheaper than the average price of jajangmyeon (considered one of the most inexpensive meals available at that time). The low price and great taste soon attracted a large number of customers and the restaurant has enjoyed great popularity ever since.
The restaurant's success lies in its fresh, soft tofu and its Jeolla-style pickled seafood and soybean paste (hand-made fresh each morning). The soft tofu stew seems to perfectly complement kimchi (Korea’s most popular side dish) and has become a restaurant specialty.
Saint James Boutique Seoul opened in November 2013 in the area near Garosugil in Gangnam-gu. Decorated with wood, the interior highlights two key colors -- blue and white -- to harmonize the brand's style with the surrounding atmosphere in Garosugil. The spacious, square-shaped store consists of wall and central displays, sofas for rest, and changing rooms and sells women's and men's wear, children's clothing, and accessories including bags, accessories, hats, and shoes. Along with products from Saint James (France), the store sells imported brands like Buddy (Japan), Veja (France), Soludos (U.S.A.), Bronte (Netherlands), Padmore & Barnes (Ireland), and Infielder Design (Japan). The single-story store comes with an entrance and an exit on both sides, making it easy and convenient for shopping even during busy hours.
The brand started in 1889 at a French village near Mount Saint-Michel in Normandy. In the early days, the store specialized in sailor’s outfits — or the “marine look” — and gradually expanded as the French look gained popularity around the world.
A number of A-list Hallyu stars, including Kim Tae-hee, Park Bo-gum and Park Han-byeol are frequent diners at Dure Guksu. Having been featured in numerous Korean TV shows, the most popular dishes on the menu include the signature beef noodle soup, bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles) and bibimbap (mixed rice bowl).
During dinner service, gopchang jeongol (beef tripe stew) is often paired with soju (distilled rice liquor). Rice stir-fried with vegetables in the same pot makes for the perfect finale for a laid-back dining experience. Please note that there is usually a long wait during lunch and dinner hours.

The museum offers various cultural activities, as well as arts and science programs that are fun for kids and also enjoyable for parents and teachers. There are about 100 interactive items on display from the basement level to the third floor.
