Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

The annual music festival, Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF), is held Tongyeong-si under the various themes every year. The festival aims to select the musics that will be viewed to bridging the gap between art and audience, and among audiences. The festival presents official performances as well as side events that are relating to embracing muscial diversity, such as children's song competition, fringe performances, and workshops.

“YOULL: 율” is a traditional performance meeting all of Korean traditional art types such as Korean dance, martial arts, swordsmanship, music, play, and music - all in one stage. The traditional permanent performance by Jeongdong Theater has been offering beauty of Korean traditional based on classical novels. In 2016, Jeongdong Theater launched a new performance brand 'YOULL' to show contemporary and traditional performance which is completely created from characteristics and story.

Jeollabuk-do(Gimje-si)

Gimje Horizon Festival, held from late September to early October every year since 1999, takes place at Byeokgolje Reservoir, which is the heart of the Honam rice bowl. The festival aims to show the importance of Korea’s farming culture, which is a foundation of the nation, with the theme of sky and land meeting at the horizon. The festival also aims to promote the regional image and economy. Many dynamic and active programs are available for festival-goers to participate in before the golden horizon.Byeokgolje, the largest irrigation facility in the world, built 1,700 years ago during Baekje (King Biryu, 330), is embraced by the city of Gimje. Thanks to Byeokgolje, the area of Gimje is the birth place of Korea’s rice farming and agricultural culture. During the Baekje period, it was called ‘Byeokgolgun’ (a village of rice) which came from the fact that this area was the first area to start rice farming.During the festival, domestic and overseas visitors can take part in various hands-on programs feeling Korean farming culture in Byeokgolje (Historic Site No. 111). Visitors of all ages can easily take part in these programs to educate, inspire, and enjoy with a theme of spacious plains to the horizon. Events include kite-flying, rice-farming, catching grasshoppers, Korea Straw and Plants handicraft, making rice over an open fire, and other activities to entertain visitors.


Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun)

Every June, the areas around Eocheon-ri in Goseong-gun are covered with the purple lavender fields. During this season, many local and international visitors attend the annual Goseong Lavender Festival. This year, the festival will have a variety of programs, from exhibitions to performances.Some of these include a lavender photo exhibit and a photo contest at the farm and the village, as well as a photo gallery and a classical music concert, to name a few. The lucky draw event is something that should not be missed.


Seoul(Jongno-gu) , Insadong・Jongnon

The Seoul Dance Festival is held in every autumn and is considered the biggest dance festival in Korea, drawing the participation of famous dancers and a range of newcomers. During the festival, there will be a variety of events for festival visitors both on and off the stage.


Seoul(Jung-gu) , Euljiro・Chungmuro・Namsan

Located in Jung-gu, Seoul, Namsangol Hanok Village will be hosting the 'Moonlight Fire Show, Daeboreum' event on February 22, 2016 from 17:00 to 19:00. Burning daljip, cracking bureom, and other seasonal customs related to Jeongwol Daeboreom will be offered for participants to enjoy.

The Ulsan Onggi Festival offers a fun array of hands-on programs which let visitors learn about how to craft pottery. The National Onggi Craft Contest during the festival is a wildly popular event attracting many visitors. The festival also hosts exciting exhibitions and performances including traditional performances, Traditional Tightrope Walking, and a concert. Its main venue is decorated with elegant pottery sculptures, offering a great backdrop for visitors to take pictures.


Seoul(Seocho-gu) , Gangnam・Samseongdong(COEX)

‘Saturday Premium Performance’ takes place 50 times this year from January 7 through December 29. Seventeen different kinds of programs consisting of traditional music, dance, and singing performances will be performed throughout the year. Nine programs are suitable for people who have never experienced Korean traditional performing arts before. They consist of court music, solo performances, solo court music performances, traditional dance, folk dance, and play. These nine programs will be staged 38 times total.There will also be six masters’ programs comprised of performances of the maestros of Gugak (Korean traditional music), traditional dance, and play. Each program will be performed only once. Two intangible cultural asset programs also will be performed, consisting of Korean intangible cultural assets that have been added to the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List. They will be performed three times each.Whether you are new to Gugak or an avid lover of Gugak, the Saturday Premium Performance offers performances for everyone.


Daegu(Suseong-gu)

Daegu International Jazz Festival (DIJF) is open to all visitors and it will be hosting both domestic and American jazz musicians. Jazz became popular music genre and this jazz festival will bring joy to the festival.
