2018 Busan One Asia Festival [BOF Closing performance]
Busan One Asia Festival, Asia's No. 1 Hallyu Fesitval, will be held in October for 10 consecutive days throughout the Busan area. The festival creates a memorable time for visitors with Asia's best Hallyu concert, going beyond generations and genre. Also, it showcases Asian culture and Hallyu, uniting as a whole.
The Busan One Asia Festival, the city's biggest event to promote Korean popular culture, will return for nine days starting Oct. 20, the city and Busan Tourism Organization recently announced.

★Busan Traditional Market Gift Certificate

The gift certificates come in 5,000 won and 10,000 won denominations. They can't be exchanged for cash. However, if you buy something and the remaining amount is more than 60% of the value of the gift certificate, the vendor will pay it out to you in cash. The validity of the gift certificate is five years from the date of issuance.

1. Gukje Market (국제시장)
Following the Korean War, refugees who fled to Busan set up stalls in order to make a living, and this was the beginning of the Gukje Market (gukje meaning "international" in Korean). The Gukje Market is one of Korea’s largest markets; each alleyway is crowded with stalls, and it connects to Bupyeong Market, Kkangtong Market, and other smaller markets. The market stocks such a wide variety of goods, that you can find almost everything you need right here.

2. Jagalchi Market (부산 자갈치시장)
Jagalchi Market, located on the shoreside road in Busan's Jung-gu, is Korea's largest seafood market, selling both live and dried fish. After the Korean War the market solidified itself as a fish market. Most of the people who sell fish are women, so the vendors here are called Jagalchi Ajumma, "ajumma" meaning middle-aged or married woman in Korean.
This market represents Busan and is famous throughout the country. If you visit you can eat fresh raw fish right at the market. Even these days you can see women selling mackerel, sea squirts (ascidians) and whale meat on wooden boxes along the road outside of the market and along the shore.
Every year in October the Jagalchi Cultural Tourism Festival is held, and it is easy to visit because of the convenient transportation provided by subway. Jagalchi Market is where you can see the lifestyle of the Busan locals.

Busan Haeundae Traditional Market is a popular attraction most often visited during vacation seasons due to the fact that it is conveniently located near Haeundae Beach. There are many things to see and buy as well as much to eat as the market offers a wide range of products for sale. Fresh vegetables, meat and seafood are available at low prices as well.
