Namsangol Taekwondo Outdoor Performance staged with the background of Namsangol Hanok village, one of Seoul's top tourist destinations maintaining the unique sense of the traditional Korean culture in the center of the city, presents a lot of spectacles and activities related to taekwondo, one of the world's beloved sports. The performance introduces taekwondo, the pride of Korean people, to tourists and gives them a variety of opportunities to experience the sport, everyday except Tuesdays from May to October. The dramatic meeting of taekwondo and the hanok village reminds that Korean people cherish and inherit their tradition and try to make their culture to be loved ever more.

Namsangol Taekwondo Outdoor Performance begins with a special performance of a fusion gugak, Korean traditional music. The main show is composed of classical taekwondo performances delivered by the demonstration team of the World Taekwondo Headquarters, and Midong Elementary School and other taekwondo motif performances. The fascinating performances displaying both Korean traditional and contemporary aspects will linger on the minds of foreign tourists as well as Korean people. The show is followed by diverse activities to experience the martial art, such as breaking tiles, taekwondo exercise, and women's self-defence, and the audience can take a picture with the performers. The novel and various charms of Taekwondo will offer an opportunity to think of its value and meaning.

Synopsis

Namsangol Taekwondo Outdoor Performance presents the unique charm of a Korean tradition. The special performance of the fusion gugak group before the main performance will spice up the show. The main performance is composed of shows of various teams including the demonstration team of the World Taekwondo Headquarters. It starts with an original performance featuring demonstration techniques, which is followed by the performance by Midong Elementary School featuring unusual high-level techniques, the performance of the Taekwondo Force offering fascinating spectacles with the fantasy epic based on the birth myth of Korea, a success story titled "I want to learn taekwondo" featuring a man who became a taekwondo master from an ordinary salary man, and performances brilliantly mixing traditional Korean taekwondo, K-POP, and samulnori together. After the performances, a variety of experience programs where the audience can taste the delights of doing taekwondo activities and take a photo with the performers are provided.
